It didn't happen often and when it did it was usually a foreign feeling that for a few moments that seemed far beyond Quinn to describe or truly know until he realized the feeling came about because he wasn't doing anything and he wanted to stop doing nothing and find something to occupy his time. Quint had been flopped onto the couch until he gazed at the world upside down at least until just now when he rolled off of the couch, ambled to his feet, and went to seek Kay. It took a few moments because there were some places where the shark-toothed boy checked before he finally poked his head into the kitchen to find his older sibling hanging out there trying to eat something.
Knowing the risks he initiated the popping of his personal bubble by wandering over and lightly swatted at Kay's forearm at the least recently wounded part, "Entertain me," he commanded simply as he stared at the darker boy with a straight face. He was very serious about the demand and if Kay refused to comply with his wishes...Quinn would bother Tek or something. The infant seemed to like or at least tolerate him to a degree that he couldn't quote understand.
So really it was either give in to the rare demand for Kay's company or Quinn wandered off and denied any such demand was made.

Kay was restless; he could have gone out if he wanted to, Switch was pretty lax when it came to letting him wander alone, so long as there was a note left behind or she was informed of his intentions. But today, he didn't want to go out. As bored as he was, he wanted to stay in for whatever reason. He had wandered the house, eaten some food, played with Tek, taken a nap, ate some more, had a shower, wandered around the back yard...and, eventually, made it back to the kitchen. The young man was incredibly restless, but had no urge to get out and go anywhere.
He was all set to be this restlessly bored the entire day; so imagine his surprise when Quinn, of all people, approached him.
A red eye and a second pair of golden ones regarded the serious Shark boy. It seemed even Nahual was surprised by this turn of events! With a grin, Kay finished the last bite of the sandwich he had made himself, wiping his hands on his pants and not even pausing to finish his mouthful before talking.
"How? I can't even entertain myself todaaay~" He whined, managing to speak pretty clearly despite the sandwich he was partially trying to chew. Eventually the food was properly swallowed, and he grabbed a nearby glass of water to drown the rest of it, not pausing until the entire glass was empty. There was a slight pause while Kay regarded his brother while he caught his breath. Wait, Quinn didn't voluntarily submit himself to his whims! What was this?!
"Who are ya and what'd you do to my lil' Bro?" He teased, grinning like an idiot and reaching out to ruffle the sharkboy's hair. Why Quinn put up with him was anyone's guess.

He stared at Kay as he whined at him about not being unable to entertain himself and looked toward the ceiling in exasperation, "Not my problem." Quint said bluntly as his arms moved to cross over his chest. Despite it not being his problem he was obviously intent on giving Kay something to do right along with him. The shark-boy shifted from foot to foot as he stared at Kay once more and seemed thoughtful. What could they do together? He had gone to the beach many times before and the aquarium at least a couple of times.
"Take me somewhere I haven't gone to before," he said simply as he stared at Kay as if he expected his brother to just know where all he had gone and had done whether it be by himself or with Kale. He reached up and rubbed the bridge of his nose before he added, "Maybe I could get you some pizza, too." Quinn offered in a rare spirit of generosity. Kale had started giving him a bit of allowance since the child seemed to have a rather responsible way about him.
Usually.

Kay made a motion like he'd been stabbed through the heart, stumbling a little bit on the spot. "Oof! Ugh, Quinn, Ouch!" He hissed out dramatically at his brother's blunt reply, but of course he was laughing moments later, shaking his head in amusement despite Nahual's irritation.
"Geez Quinn, I dunno where you've been!" Kay hummed, scratching the bone half of his face in a thoughtful manner. The offering of pizza made him perk up, and with a very dramatic noise of consideration, he pat his slightly younger brother on the shoulder. "Regardless! I will help! Hmm...Where to take the Quinn..." With a newfound interest in entertaining the shark boy, Kay spotted and wandered to the recent news paper that was on the counter, flipping through it to look at the advertisements.
"Leeeets see...How to entertain the Quinn one-oh-one..." He mused, flipping from page to page after scouring the ads. "There's still an easter event in the park...Oh there's an aquarium nearby! Uhh...Mini putt, but that sounds boring... Err...the...arcade..." With a slightly amused but very hesitant chuckle, he gave a side glance at his brother, recalling how well the arcade worked last time. Aheh...oops.
"Oh! What about Laser Tag?!" Kay gasped out excitedly, pointing down at one of the little coloured boxes that promoted the event.

"Keep it up," Quinn responded in a deadpan tone. He was starting to slightly regret coming to his brother for entertainment if all he was going to do is ham it up. He tilted his head to the side and stared at Quinn and retorted, "Doesn't seem to stop you when it comes to eating food," when Kay said he didn't know where the sharp-toothed boy had been. Granted Kay wasn't eating him any time soon, he'd put up one hell of a fight if he was. He watched Kay as he wandered to a newspaper on the counter and trailed after and peered around his brother's shoulder. "Been to the aquarium like twice, two different ones," he'd never been to this mini putt thing and well the arcade wasn't too bad but it wasn't exactly Quint's favorite place to be as was evident by the first time they had gone and Kay was late.
He shifted his weight from side to side and stared at the Laser Tag ad and shrugged, "Sure," he replied. He wasn't sure how long the whole event would last them but it seemed like it'd be mildly entertainment.
"...What IS laser tag?"

Quinn's deadpan threat earned him a wide, fearless grin. The shark boy, despite having a very scary bite, was way too amusing to Kay. Always so mean, that Quinn! What didn't stop him? Oh, not knowing where the food has been. Yeeeeah...that never did stop him, as long as it looked fresh enough. Then again...even if it didn't look fresh, he could make it fresh. Thus, no issue.
"Yeah, but I'm not about to eatcha, besides I don't think my power would work on your rotten a**." Laughing, he began flipping through the newspaper, making a noise when Quinn explained he'd been to an aquarium before. Two of them. Huh, he had never been to one! They sounded pretty neat, though. "You should take me one day, sounds like fun." Though since today was 'something new' day, Aquarium was out. The young man looked thoughtful when asked what laser tag was, staring down at the newspaper like the answer would just...jump right out at him.
"Mm...Good question! Maybe instead of tagging each other with your hands, it's with one of those laser pointer things?" He shrugged, tapping his finger on the address as to not forget where it was. "Hmm...laser tag's sounding good, I kinda don't wanna get bitten today." Which sometimes happened when he touched Quinn, oops.
"Cool, so, wanna go now? Before Na n' Kale realize we're bored and puts us to work?"

"I'd like to see you try," Quinn retorted as he stared at Kay with an unimpressed expression, "like you would be able to succeed in the first place if you did try to eat me."
At least they were both equally unafraid of each other!
"Sure. I'll take you to the aquarium. Should be easy to hide your body after I drown you for being an annoying s**t," Quint grumbled lightly, had to get back at Kay for being called a rotten a** it was an insult that he was not content to just let go away into obscurity. Despite the malice he displayed toward Kay it was obvious that the Shark-boy wouldn't really kill his brother not unless Kay crossed several lines all at once in one day and drove Quint to the brink of insanity.
Quint patiently listened to the explanation and nodded a bit. That sounded fair enough, he'd give it a try. Worse comes to worse they would get sidetracked by something else along the way. Them? Sidetracked? Never!
"Yeah let's get the hell out of here," he turned and went toward the door where his shoes were and pulled them on. The weather was nice enough to not warrant the need for a jacket.

"I love you~" Kay sang out happily in response. It was his way of answering the challenge, the ego shot, and of course, to the threat of being drowned in the aquarium. Still, he knew better than to try and hug Quinn to accompany his words; as much as he wanted to, he didn't want to bleed for the entire trip. That meant Quinn had an unfair advantage at laser tag!
"Right behind ya." Kay grinned, putting the paper away before looking at a back room where their parents were, heading out after Quinn, grabbing a pair of shoes on his way out, but that was about it. As always he wore capri pants...and that was about it. He would put on his shoes when they got to the laser tag place, not before.
"Soo...whattcha been up to lately? Been a while since we got to talk." Actually, this was pretty much the first time it was only just them, aside from at night.

"Mraah," was all Quint said in response to Kay's expression of brotherly love.
Quint just kept on walking even as he got out of the door but he didn't pick up his pace or was running. It was at a pace that Kay easily caught up with him on. When questioned about what he'd been up too lately he shrugged a bit as he walked along. There were things that happened that he didn't really want to consider telling Kay about but then again maybe his more charismatic sibling could give some advise on how to deal with that sorta thing or better yet maybe he could 'take care' of the issue by getting rid of the people involved if it got too much for the shark-boy to swallow. He let out a thoughtful sound before he answered, "Goin' out sometimes with Dad, sometimes on my own," he said simply.
"The last aquarium I went there was a girl there. She acted strange," he rubbed at his jaw in memory of the touch that made him mildly uncomfortable to even think about.

"On your own, eh? Rebellious~" Kay half-heartedly teased, his free hand going into his pant pocket. Granted, when Kay was that 'age', he often went out on his own...but Quint was a hundred times more responsible than he was, so he had a feeling Switch and Kale didn't mind him going out so much. He didn't admit it just yet, and probably not until he felt he needed to, but Quint's brand of grumpy responsibility was admirable. Just needed to work the teeth out of it.
"Ooh, a girl?" There was a mildly teasing grin given down to his brother, but Kay actually sounded interested. Girls were strange anyway; every single one of the girls he had met thus far were all rather different from one another, but maybe Quint's girl would be similar to one of them. If she was...maybe he could help that uncomfortable vibe he got from him? "Strange how?"

He waved a hand at his brother's first round of teasing, "Yeah. Sure," he actually laughed a bit and let the subject fall away. Not that he meant to be so responsible but it seemed to come naturally to him. There was nothing to gain by being irresponsible it didn't get much done. It was just like he kept his side of the room very clean and took care of his aquatic friends without needing to be nudged. If asked to do something by a parent he'd do it ... grudgingly but he'd do it.
Quint looked mildly annoyed at the teasing grin and looked away from him already sorry that he even brought it up thus far but as long as he wasn't ribbed too much he would continue to talk about it. He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as he murmured, "Yeah she touched me, like with her fingertip on my jaw or something. She seemed disappointed when I didn't act how she wanted me to I guess. Whatever way that was. I ... didn't bite her so don't worry about that."
He generally avoided biting female individuals if he could manage to control himself.

"Wow, you didn't bite her? That's impressive." Kay let out a low whistle, for once not teasing his younger sibling. Even just watching Quint, he knew what kind of restraint that meant. It was hard to fight against instincts and natural urges...he knew he couldn't do what Quinn did.
Still, the part that mildly perplexed him was the part about being touched in general. As far as he knew, the 'touchy' girls weren't face touchy, for the most part. There had only been one girl that was 'touchy' in a different sense, without crossing a line. His lips twisted into a pleased grin even just thinking about it.
"Think maybe she was flirtin' with ya?" He asked, still looking nostalgic and pleased at the same time. "An' if it wasn't what she was lookin' for...how did you react?" Unlike Quinn, Kay absolutely loved flirting. Especially with a pretty girl...but chances were great that Kay reacted to the flirting in a more 'desirable' manner, for lack of better words.

"Guess so? I mean you bite a girl then they cry and make you feel like an a*****e just because you couldn't stop yourself," he grumbled softly. Unlike Kay who took it like a man and usually laughed but still he took it like a man and that's what counted.
He furrowed his brow at the term his brother used and shrugged, "Whatever that means. I don't know. I guess? I kinda ran a bit away from her." Quint murmured softly as he moved and pointed his fingertips together as if ashamed about his retreat from a measly female figure. "At least I think she was disappointed, I didn't see her face after I did that," he added.
"What do you do when a girl ... flirts with you?" for once Quint seemed vulnerable and seeking advice ... From Kay of all people.

Xbalanque listened to the way Quinn's mind worked...yeah, they would cry and make you feel like an a*****e, but, at the same time...that was normal. "That's normal though, for most girls...I mean there are a few exceptions, but on the whole? Girls aren't as strong as Guys. I dunno, they're...more frail somehow. Maybe 'cause they're smaller?" He tilted his head to the side a little bit, his eye gazing upwards in thought. The young man had to admit how absolutely adorable Quinn was being, looking all shy. But he had to roll his eyes when he heard how he reacted. How...unlike a man!
"Eh?" The question certainly threw him for a loop, and his gaze snapped down to stare wide eyed at his apparently vulnerable younger brother. Looking away, he lifted a hand to scratch at the back of his neck. "Ah, well, uh...Ya flirt back, if ya think she's pretty." He said simply, dropping his elbow but holding his hand against the side of his own neck, his eye gazing down at the young shark. It was...mildly awkward, but somehow it made him feel important. "Like...smile at her, or stand close to her and brush your arm against hers 'by accident' or something...even just compliment her. Girls like to be complimented." Or so he figured; the few he complimented seemed to take it pretty well, but then again...he found something pretty in every girl he came across.
"What'd she look like, eh? Didja get a name?" Kay seemed very interested still...maybe flirting would be good for Quinn! It stopped him from biting, maybe it would lighten him up! Still, despite his attempts, Kay just couldn't picture Quinn flirting. Ever.

"Yeah I guess," he agreed with a small shrug. He hadn't really taken much time to notice the difference between girls and boys but now that they were laid out in front of him he could see it but other than that he really paid no real mind to it. Since there were a few exceptions Quint just use the label 'lightly' amongst the female species.
Quint moved and tucked his hands into his pockets and listened as Kay told him how to deal with the whole flirting thing. A lot of it required touching and being close to the other party and it was a level of intimacy that, right now, Quint was very uncomfortable with. Probably would always be uncomfortable with. Much like his older sibling he couldn't see himself flirting with anyone whether or not he found the person in question to be attractive. He almost stumbled a bit.
A name? Oh geeze he forgot her name. He grumbled a curse under his breath before he spoke out loud, "Curly hair, eyes were different colors, had this green mark on her..." Quint had no reason to lie to Kay about who had closely interacted with him the other day.
