Rocket Agent Seth

PostPosted: Mon Apr 05, 2010 8:31 pm

After the initial meeting with Kofuku in the gym, Seth had scheduled a time for her to meet him a few days later. He had a busy schedule after all and have to shift things around for this. Thus he sent a message to her inbox for the time and date that he would be expecting her.

The place was one of the large training gyms and Seth had it set aside for this very occasion. Since Kofuku had missed out on the class, she was getting a private tutoring session... so to speak. Isn't she lucky?

The elite was ready and waiting for her at the center of the gym.

Walking through the halls, Kofuku had a grim, pale look on her face. The only thing she could think about was that she felt like she was on death row. The few people she'd mentioned this unpleasant event with called her lucky... Oh lord she did NOT feel lucky. Anything but lucky actually. She had just finished another long shift of cleaning, scrubbing, and all around doing not so nice tasks in the infirmary ward and had gotten on with only a few minutes to use to change into her uniform.

As she got to the gym doors she checked the clock over the door and nodded. 'A minute early... brownie points are good at this point' Taking a deep breath, she rolled her sleeves up, put her hair up into a ponytail, and walked in to the room easily spotting the tall Elite in the middle of the gym. Walking up to him, she stood straight and saluted, hoping he couldn't smell the cleaning chemicals that she felt she'd bathed in; mostly it was bleach.

Brownie points meant nothing at the moment. She simply didn't invoke his wrath further by not showing up late. His arms folded across his chest, Seth's piercing blue gaze riveted on Kofuku when she entered. He noted her rolled up sleeves and ponytail with a frown.

"This is a battle, not a work out." He told her irritably. After all, it was the Pokemon that were going to do the work, not her. If he could smell the chemicals on her, he made no indication of it.

"Let's see what you have. Release your first Pokemon." Yes first. He planned to see everything she had with her.

Chewing on her inner cheek a little, Kofuku rolled down her sleeves unhappily; she hated sleeves and was getting ready to just cut them all off of her shirts. She did, however, leave her hair up still; it was too long to be let down without it getting in her way, and even up in the pony tail it reached right above her butt.

Taking a deep breath, trying to calm herself, she pulled out the first pokeball and decided it would be best to maybe get the worst over with first. "Hiromi, Stand ready." The red beam left behind a bright eyes, tail wagging Eevee who looked up at Seth like he was her best friend in the whole world. Kofuku did her best to keep her composure, but inside she was dieing; at least this would be the worst pokemon battle choice.

With the release of the Eevee, Seth groaned and put his hand to his forehead. Especially as it wagged its tail at him. WHY. Why was he plagued with overly friendly Eevees? He'd rather they hated him.

Hmph. He would just have to make sure it got the stuffing beat out of it.

"Very well."

Seth plucked a Pokeball from his belt and released his shiny Luxray. The lion-like Pokemon's hair raised and stood on end as it snarled fiercely. Its red eyes falling on the Eevee as his master stepped back to give the Pokemon space.

Pinching the bridge of her nose a bit, she stepped back. "Aw s**t...." She muttered. "This ain't ganna end well."

Hiromi looked around cluelessly, wondering why her human was backing up from her and the other pokemon. Was she going to be battling? But she didn't do battling, she did cute and shoplifting, but certainly not battling. Looking back to the Luxray, she just smiled and wagged her tail.

Clearing her throat, she looked over to Seth. "Erm, Seth, sir... would this be a good time to mention she's not a battling pokemon? She's a thieving pokemon...." That, and the fact that Hiromi had no physical attacks left her at a VERY poor advantage.

(( By the way Kira, you really should have your Pokemon's attacks listed in your journal. ))

Pulling out his Rocket 'dex, Seth scanned the Eevee and there was a visible eye twitch as what she said was confirmed. "What kind of moron doesn't put a single damaging move on their Pokemon!" Blue eyes leered at Kofuku and her Eevee. Clearly he had underestimated the incompetence of this particular grunt.

Seth pointed at the fluffy target.

"Thieving Pokemon my a**. Luxray! Thunder Fang!"

The shimmering golden Pokemon lept into action, its fangs bared as electricity crackled between them. This aimed in a bite at the little Eevee coupled with a strong electrical pulse.

"A Pokemon that can not battle is completely worthless!"

((Oops, sorry! They're all added now! Thank you for letting me know))

"The kind of person who doesn't plan to use the pokemon for battle, sir." Kofuku felt her cheeks redden a bit under his gaze, and she cursed a little under her breath; Hiromi was not going to be surviving very long in this battle.

As the Luxray moved in it's attack, Kofuku snapped into action, sending out an order in a far more confident voice than what she really felt. "Hiromi! Due right, then Attract!"

The Eevee's ears perked up and she moved as fast as a possible, however she wasn't fast enough and her tail was caught in the jaws. Still, despite the rather electrifying pain that hit her tail end, Hiromi turned herself and used her best Attract, like her trainer had called for, hoping that it would work despite the fact that her tail was in it's mouth.

Kofuku's eyes shot up at Seth when he spoke about worthless pokemon, but she knew better than to speak against him without carefully choosing her words. "Worthless, for battling, not for stealing, sir. One can always used extra funds."

Seth snorted as he watched the Luxray succumb to the Attract. The electric type releasing the Eevee from his jaws and staring at the smaller Pokemon with what appeared to be infatuation. Lovely.

However, his attention went back to Kofuku and his eyes narrowed dangerously. He knew what she was doing. "A Pokemon that can't battle is useless. If it can't do both, then it will not have a place here in Team Rocket, nor its idiot trainer!" It never ceased to amaze him what kinds of morons the recruiters seemed to dredge up. Were they really this desperate?

"Luxray, snap out of it!"

The golden Pokemon's ear twitched and it shook its head, but seemed unable to shake off the Attract this time around.

Kofuku resisted the satisfying smile that wanted to come over her face, doing her best to keep her expression serious. however, she could feel the corners of her mouth twitch a little as it was obvious the Luxray was stuck in her Eevee's attract. She felt a bit more confidence in herself, even though she knew that this particular battle wasn't going to last very long.

"Hiromi, shake it off, use Charm." The only thing worse than a pokemon who was stuck in infatuation would be a pokemon that was stuck in infatuation coupled with an lowered attack power.

Hiromi shook herself thoroughly, her fur fluffing a little before settling again, and she looked at the Luxray with large, brown eyes, turning on her cuteness charm. If there was one thing this Eevee knew, it was how to be cute.

Kofuku watched quietly with great intensity, her fingers crossed in one hand.

The charm struck and it worked. However, there was a serious flaw in Kofuku's thinking. That is if she assumed that Luxray only knew physical attacks, since Charm lowered only attack and not special attack. Also, that Attract didn't work every turn.

Seth was annoyed, as Attract was an irritating move, but not a debilitating one. And once the Eevee fainted, its effects would end.

"Luxray, Discharge!" Usually he didn't care to have two attacks of the same element on a Pokemon, without good reason. And there was good reason. Thunder Fang was a physical attack, of which would now be lowered in power. Discharge was a special type attack, of which Charm would have no affect on.

Electrical currents surged up the electricmon's forelegs as its power charged up. Its lips curling in a snarl as it seemed to shake off the effects of the attract this time. Then in a loud series of pops and crackles, a surging wave of electric energy roared at the Eevee. An attack that would hit all Pokemon on the field, except the user with a 30% chance of paralysis.

Kofuku frowned as she watched the attack, muttering a stream of curses under her breath; there wasn't an escape in site for the Eevee this time around.

Hiromi's eyes got wide right before the electrical attack hit her, and her legs gave out first, causing her to fall hard. The rest of it went down hill as the Eevee passed out quickly, unable to fight.

Kofuku didn't move a bit; she'd knew the battle was over for the eevee, but she waited for Seth's next order, brushing some stray bangs from her eyes. "So... Sir, is this just going to be a straight butt kicking, or is there going to be a lecture put somewhere in all this?" It wasn't rude or snarky, it was curiosity, and she spoke the words in a respectful tone.

Was there really a way to say that without coming off as snarky?

Seth's brows furrowed and he snorted in disgust. "I thought I had made myself perfectly clear. I'll speak slowly in words that you can understand."

With that, he recalled Luxray to his pokeball. The ball bouncing off the floor and being caught in Seth's hand.

The battle had been to prove the uselessness of Kofuku's Eevee. It seemed like his threat or his point wasn't getting through to her.

"I refuse to have incompetent trainers on any of my missions. If you ever want to make it out of grunt status, or in this organization at all, then you need to cut the crap and do as your told. Starting with that pathetic Eevee. Put something useful on it. A Pokemon with no damaging attacks can't defend you in battle, which leaves you vulnerable. It doesn't matter if you have other Pokemon, you may find yourself without them one day."

"Understood sir." Kofuku nodded, making sure to make a mental note to start training Hiromi in some sort of attack; perhaps now was the time to consider an evolution form for the little pokemon. Pulling out the ball, she returned her pokemon to the safety of it's pokeball. Clipping the ball back, she watched the Elite, waiting for him to tell her what was going to be happening next.

Oh no. If she thought it was going to end with that, she was wrong. Just because she said 'understood, sir' didn't mean he was just going to let it go.

"No, I don't really think you do, or else you have no regard for the success of Team Rocket and, thus, your personal safety. I believe there's a saying 'that the only way out of Team Rocket is in a box.' There is no room for dead weight in this organization."

Although his voice was seething, Seth was managing to keep his cool despite Kofuku's infuriating attitude.

"Let me know when you've connected the dots."
