I just realized how lucky I am. My closest friends whom I've gone to school with since kindergarten have supported me with my animal crazed nonsense from day 1. They know how much I love dogs and well every living creature even though a few of them might not like dogs/be to fond of them. They accept the fact that I love them. Me and my friend Kandlar both have big plans to become vets and both have pretty much same personality and love for animals. She recently got her dog Toulouse and he's like her little brother. It's so funny watching them together.
At my new school however. The kids there don't quite understand my love for animals. In fact there have been a few times where I have gotten into fights (word fights) with them about certain things. I miss how understanding my chicas over at my old school were and how much they actually helped me with things and egged me on. They understand my uniqueness and I really miss them, but at least I will be seeing them friday for a day at sixflags for some fun. I just wish I could transfer highschools, which I might. But I will miss the friends I have made, but I just don't fit in to well at this school.

Do your best to keep up with your old friends even though you go to different schools! Most of my friends are graduated or dropped out now, and even though some of us have jobs or are in college or both, we still try to find time to hang out and trust me, it really helps later on in life to have friends that you've known for a long time and been through hell and back together. Because when something goes wrong, you know they will always be there to support you and that can be the best feeling in the world when everything else is crappy.
Also, try making new friends! Is there a humane society/animal club at your new school? If not, why not try starting one to meet people with similar interests?

Oh believe me there's no way I wouldn't be able to keep in contact with my oldies. We take all the time on face Book and I see the majority of them every other weekend or so. Me and my friend Demetria due to our younger sisters always see each other at their basketball games etc.
As far as making new friends I have it's just I'm not that close with them so it's hard to talk about certain things with them. And If my knee is all healed up and I get the ok. I will be joining the Soccer team next year hopefully making varsity.
