King's city. Night-time.
The stage was set. A backdrop of liquid, multicolored stars glittered in the sky, blurring with high-built company logos in glaring neon letters, unmarred by clouds and unrefined by a moon. The moon, perhaps, had been stolen. The night was cool and calm, the city below, sleepy, barely moving as it was almost nine. This city slept early. Woke early. And nothing exciting ever really happened here.
Not in King's city. Not at night.
The stage was set, and like a dancer- in ill concealing, scanty clothing- the puppet master entered. No masks for her, only a bitter, sad sort of truth.
The first one had been a balcony, she had surprised the occupant's within. "I might be the villain of your story. But right now, there's no time for that. Please, choose your destiny." A glittering backdrop, an almost naked woman, holding out some innocuous object. It seemed unreal. It seemed like a dream.
If only that had been the case.
But you can't undo the choice. No one can go back and rewrite the moment. "Is that your decision? You will never return to a normal life, now." She knows the answers, the replies, the inevitable. It's all pre-scripted. This vision in silks has played once before.
As if you would want to go back to that boring life?
But you need someone to do this, right?
It can't be helped. I'm the only one, right?
Who knows what the future holds for any of us?
I will help you.
I will.
It's a promise.
The die is cast. The stage is set. The players are ushered into the wings. It's exciting. Energizing. A fearful hush descends upon them. The audience is silent as the grave. This is it. The magic of the stage winds through King's city. A great play is about to open.
And a tear falls from her eyes. Hollow and lost. And she smiles, standing there, in your room, changing your whole world. Crying.
You'll never know why she cried that night. After all, wasn't this what she wanted?
Stage set.
Cue music.
The curtain lifts.
King's city. Night-time.
A small movie-theater down-town explodes. And someone loses a dream.

Takuma, Amarantha and Tobi are confused and maybe just a little frightened, running through the streets of King's city, following a woman in red silks and not much else. A woman who climbed in through bedroom windows, bathroom windows, and possibly the chimney, who handed them a strange glowing ball that soon became a weird tattoo. And who spoke like this was some sort of crazy manga! And yet, for whatever reason, they said 'yes.' Now she's taking them down a dirty, filthy dark alley, at night, and someone is probably going to have to explain the stains on their pajamas.
She walks at a fast pace, leaving little room for those gathered to speak or let alone question her. And then finally, panting, she stops at a door, there is a glowing exit sign above the door and the stale stench of grimy old popcorn and icecream, cola and bubblegum drifts from the door.
"This is it. Inside we will no doubt get lost, seperated from each other. I have a few others to find in here." Her eyes become mischevious. "I've told you all I can. A chompah is going to attack this place very soon. You will have to fight it."
Funny how she seemed so knowledgable and strong and fit, and now its up to /you/ to fight it. Aphrodite smiles and opens the exist door, its dark inside, and quiet.

Takuma had been laying on the floor of his living room idly studying. It was not for a specific class - simply something he had found at the library that looked interesting. The last thing he had expected was a visitor at this hour. Especially a scantily clad one that had a preference for windows over doors.
That is how he had found himself frantically trying to keep up with a handful of other people in his PJs. Despite being a relatively fit teenager the chase required the majority of his attention. Due to Takuma's complete lack of shoes the sketchy alleyways seemed more treacherous than usual. He had only managed a few quick glances at the other runners before they all finally were allowed to stop. Though he was not scared Takuma was bewildered and wanted answers. Most importantly, what had that woman just done to him? The mark she had left on the majority of his arm had left it numbly aching. Despite the fact that Takuma would not have openly asked he also wondered if this impromptu marathon counted as a pajama party since the people around him looked equally as prepared to leave the house as he was.
It sounded like something was going to happen soon. Takuma used this small break as a chance to tie his hair back and get a better look at the other people outside of the theater. If the woman was leaving there was no use trying to question her. He wearily addressed the others. "If possible let's try to help each other."

He had trust issues, major ones, which was why he'd actually followed the advice of his councilor and trusted the strange woman who'd shown up at his window. He was never trusting another stranger again, with anything. The next time someone did something like this...woman, he was going to ignore them and go back to his calculus homework.
As it was, what was done was done and now he had a new collar that was just a little too tight and bought back bad memories. He couldn't help but tug at it every now and then and try to keep the panic from rising up. Which was why he didn't try to add his two cents to the situation.
Tobias had been good at sports before...but ever since the day his world ended he'd been lacking the will to do much of anything strenuous. It didn't help that he had a permanent get-out-of-gym-class card from his doctor. He jumped over various debris in the alleyway, glad that he never got ready for bed early that night, as out of all of them, he seemed to be the only one still dressed for the outside world.
He skidded to a halt, chest heaving as the woman left them. Tobias felt oddly rejected and he didn't know why, but it was a feeling that was easily swept aside. His eyes flickered over the group gathered in front of the rear door, then to the one who spoke up. "....." He glanced away from the boy as he spoke, and bit the inside of his lower lip. Help...that was a foreign term, but, if they were going to get out of whatever it was that this woman had gotten them into, he would do it.

Meanwhile inside the theatre, Aphrodite hurried, it was a full house in one cinema and she pulled out a small object, letting it's tug show her the way. Sure enough she had another girl, and she bent low whispering to the ganguro. All the lines that she had spoken before, from the top.
"I might be the villain of your story...." And then she held out the necklace.
The choice was everything, the choice was illusion. Of course they'd say yes, it was destiny! Pre-programmed into their minds. The beacons called to them as much as they called to the beacon.
A tremor ran through the building, like an earthquake, only very localized. By the time Lelani realized she was holding the funny necklace and had been left all alone, Aphrodite was gone.
Thief! Slipped into the theater, a not so crowded place with few people. At her heels a small creature hissed as she stood on the head-row and walked lazily across to Ezriela, a shiny pendant dangling from her fingers. "Yo, girl, want a free necklace? It'll open you up to a whole new you."
Hadn't her mother ever told her not to accept weird glowing objects from women in masks in dark movie theaters? But the pendant called to Ezriela as much as she called to it. The pull was a force of nature. Strong, undeniable.
"Some kids are gonna come through here soon, and try to ruin our fun."

Takuma paused weighing their reactions. The silence was expected since there was little that had happened tonight to suggest he could be trusted. He charged into the building intending to either catch up with the mysterious woman or figure out what in the world one of those things was.
While searching Takuma came around a corner and spotted an usher. Stifling a curse he ducked into the nearest cinema casually as if returning to his seat instead of retreating from the theater employee. Upon entering Takuma felt the ground shake and stumbled forward.

Tobias hesitated a few moments before following after Takuma. None of the others seemed the friendly sort, having stayed silent for so long. He didn't know where the red head had vanished, but he did see the back of an usher. The ground beneath his feet trembled, like an earthquake, but the city hadn't had an earthquake in practically forever. He eyed the off-balanced man like it was his fault as he fought to regain his footing.
Before the man could notice him Tobias stumbled his way into one of the theaters. By the name it sounded like some revenge chick flick gone wrong. His hands gripped the small side rail attached to the soundproof walls as he rode out the tremors.
His night couldn't get any worse, in his opinion. First that crazy lady who'd dragged him all the way here, and now an earthquake in a movie theater. What next, that small furry feline he'd been given would start spouting words of comfort and confidence at him? ...Nono...better not tempt some gods sense of irony and ill timed humor.
