{The Barracks}

At the edge of the plains is a strange set of stone buildings. Five in total, they stand in a ring around a central plaza, which is inset with a platform about two feet high. The central plaza is paved in dark grey cobblestones, and there are upraised stone boxes along the edges, which may have once held flowers.

Each of the five buildings is identical. They are rectangular in shape, made of the same material as the paving in the plaza. Each building has a door on one end, leading into a central hallway. On each side of the hallway there are five doors, a total of ten per building. Behind each door lies an identical area consisting of three rooms, two larger and one smaller. Some of the rooms contain remnants of furniture and personal items from long ago, perhaps hundreds of years.

There is one small difference between the buildings, for identification purposes. Each building, on the top row of bricks near the roof, has a different set of engravings running along the entire outside of the building. This pattern continues inside, up near the ceiling inside each building.

This place has obviously been abandoned for a long while, but perhaps it could be put to good use as a housing complex...

Stretching languidly, Snow ambled into the pavilion. The activities of the past who knows how long had made him pretty tired, although probably not ready to go to sleep yet. He plopped down on the raised platform in the center and leaned backwards, using his arms to cushion his head, so as not to aggravate the newly growing lump on the back of his skull.

"Cloud gazing?" Mag asked quietly.

"Mm-hm..." He answered, watching the drifting masses of fluff pass by.

"You are quite impatient aren't you?" Snow wheezed, dragging the carpet behind him. All of a sudden, Mag insisted that they get more furniture. Honestly, he knew she was concerned for his comfort, but this wasn't really necessary so soon. Beads of persperation rolled down his brow, soaking most of his clothing. It was fairly cold out, but dragging a carpet, several dozen pillows, and a week's supply of groceries from a nearby town was no easy task, especially when one was using the carpet as a carrier for the rest of its cargo.

He paused for a moment, sinking down next to his precious burden, sighing. In an attempt to cool off, he removed his outer jacket, leaving only his turtleneck on, enjoying the crisp air against his bare arms. He gazed at the building next to him for a few minutes as he caught his breath.

"This is the correct building, is it not?"

"It's the one with snowflakes engraved near the roof. The others have different engravings," Mag drawled, in a momentary lapse. Snow smiled at her hopelessly.

"And I am supposed to be able to tell, how?" he asked, slight sarcasm lacing his words.

"Oh, sorry, I...again..." Mag stuttered. Snow burst out laughing.

"You're funny, Mag. I'd rather have to remind you often, then have you constantly thinking about it!" He said cheerfully, standing up again. Mag fell silent, and most likely would be blushing if she had physical form. Picking up the edge of the carpet, he hauled it towards the door, hoping he would be able to accomodate it.

Unluckily, the door wasn't wide enough.

"Now, how do we manage this..."

Toys! Tae wanted toys!

And Tae was going to GET those toys! But, sadly, they needed a place to stay, first..

And so, Xiao was currently examining each building, sitting atop Tae's head as the tiger-ling idly started toying with his tail. She sighed faintly, and, found that the only one she was going to allow herself to live in was Raindrops.

It was only fair, everything else was either taken or just annoying.

And so, she urged Tae to start moving. The tigerling let out a faint noise of protest, but, soon, they were walking inside, examining it.. Xi-Xi liked it mainly for the fact it was fairly large, and there was enough room for her to be able to practice her artwork, even though that involved her using wind and signing it under a fake name.

She missed being able to actually draw.. But, that was how things were now adays. Being dead did that to you.

Tae, meanwhile, was running around the place, sniffing here, hiding under this and that.. He'd eventually emmerge under the bed in the room, sneezing and causing a huge puff of dust to rise. He whimpered a bit, rubbing at his nose, then moving back into the main sitting area where Xi-Xi still was.

"Xi-Xi..? I'm bored.." he muttered, then shifted to turn his gaze about the area, shifting closer to Xi-XI and yawning quietly.. He was getting sleepy, too.. He found a chair and soon sat down, curling his tail about his body and letting his cheek press against his folded arms. His ears would droop, and, soon, he was asleep.

Xi-Xi sighed, "Great.."

Myu eyes fluttered open after a long night of work, but also that weird sensation she felt. She still felt a tad queasy, but it was a hell of a lot better than she felt last night. Why did she feel like that, and why did she suddenly feel better? It was just a sudden feeling of sickness and fear that vanished the next morning. Why? No... It didn't matter. Of course, it didn't matter. As long as she felt well now, it simply was petty to continue to think about it. Yes, petty. Myu just needed to remember what was important...saving the world, but also at this time, she needed to clean this room up some more. There was no need to make it "home" when it was just going to left behind anyway. She just needed it to be "livable" for the time that she would spend here.

Myu sighed slightly. She sensed other people in the near by area. What was their purpose? Were they too born to save the world? If so, they were allies...nothing more. Myu sighed again as she lifted her head off of the wall that had supported her head last night. As she did so, she felt a lightning bolt of pain strike in several places of her neck. Myu slowly lifted up her hand to massage it when she felt long strands of golden hair that was flowing for her scalp. She tugged on it several times and winced in pain when she discovered that it was, in fact, connected to her head.

What happened to her? She attempted to get up but only failed. Myu simply fell to her knees to notice longer appendages. She quickly sat down once again and scrutinized her hands. Was this her body? What had happened to her? Could this be the reason why she felt so ill yesterday...the reason her other self seemed foreign in her other body frame? Could this be some joke that someone played on her? This whole thing just confused her even more, but she was going to get to the bottom of this.

Myu slowly put weigh on her legs as she tried to get up one more time. She swayed a bit but began to walk towards the door. Someone made her sick and turned her into this. Myu wouldn't stand for this! She was determined and was going to find out who played this horrible joke on her. Ignorant people.

Leaning the rug against the wall outside his room, piling the pillows nearby, Snow paused to catch his breath. Mag glanced inside, groaning at the work ahead of them. They'd cleaned up a lot of the bigger mess, but there were still several large pieces of wood and stone rubble, the sad corpses of ancient furniture. They would have to take care of these before doing anything in the way of furnishing.

Directing Snow to the first big piece, she sighed as she thought of her new home. Even though it was bare and empty, it somehow seemed more welcoming than her old one, back when she was alive. It took a special something to make a house a home, and this was definitely it. Perhaps it wasn't the place itself, but the people in it...

Scooping up the rock, Snow walked over to the window as Mag was lost in her musings. Tripping over a piece of wood in the process, he managed to catch his balance before he fell. Grabbing it, he moved over to the sill, pausing only a moment before tossing them out. He would go outside and move them later, but right now he wanted to clear out the room as much as possible.

Myu silently eased her self down the hallway using the wall for support. The wall, this hallway, just seemed to go on forever. Myu just wanted to get outside and find out who done this to her. It was odd viewing the world on a higher level, though Myu did seem to hunch slightly so not to lose her balance. Of course thinking about falling over mad her wobble slightly. She was still getting used to these long legs. What an odd punishment...

Finally, Myu edged herself towards the door that leaded outside. Sun fluttered through the doorway blinding Myu slightly. Lifting on hand off the wall, she shielded her eyes from the light. It seemed that Myu had spent too much time in her dark room. Unfortunately having lift that one hand up, Myu wobbled more violent almost falling into a heap once again.

Nyx, as if finally coming out of a dazed, awoke incoherently. "Hey, Myu, are you all...oh my god! Look how cute you are! What happened?" Her aura grew warmer around Myu reflecting her happiness. There were no words that could possibly describe Nyx's feelings right now. Shock? Surprise? Those words had little meaning for the feeling that Nyx was feeling. What she felt was something grander.

"You just notice now?" Myu answered with a hint of irritability in her monotone voice. Nyx could be so dumb. Obviously something happened, and if Myu knew, she wouldn't be leaving her room right now. Having thought this, Myu scoffed slightly as she hobbled out of the doorway only to be met with Nyx's annoying voice.

"Watch out!" She cried as she noticed a rock fling out a window. Rock? Startled, Myu inched away only to fall backwards. She let out a yelp and tried to get up once again. Everyone was against her...

"Did you hear something, Mag?" Snow asked his guardian, his delicate ears having picked up Myu's yelp. Mag, not having heard, gave the spiritual equivilent of a shrug.

"I dunno. You're the one with the over sensitive ears," she said, wishing she could roll her nonexistant eyes. Honestly, he could pick up nearly anything with those ears of his, and he goes asking her is she heard anything.

"Oh, I hope I did not hit anyone. I was rather careless..." he worried, biting his lip. Mag snorted.

"A little rubble isn't gonna hurt anyone. Especially the way you throw it, ya damn pansy," Mag teased. Snow laughed nervously, hoping she was right.

"Is anyone there?" he called moving back to the window. "I appologize if I injured you during my careless disposal."

Myu head jerked to attention when she heard a familiar voice call out. The voice taunted and teased her brain as she tried to place it. Mr. Snow? Was that the voice that she heard? Of course, it was Mr. Snow. He was the one that told her about this place when they were leaving the temple. It just seemed she may have forgotten he was here as well due to sensing all these new people surrounding her but also because of her "change." Myu had wondered, when she first arrived, which building Snow was staying in, but it was simply a passing thought.

Mr. Snow. Was Mr. Snow busy at work cleaning up his room as well? Obviously, but why was he throwing rocks around...rocks that almost hit her. Ugh, Myu should be the one to be more careful. She should be more alert, but her mind was too clouded as it was... For once, Myu was grateful that Nyx had actually warned her, or she would be in a worse mood than she already was in. Getting hit with a rock would do that to a person...

Myu pushed her hands up against the ground and almost fell up, if that made sense. She stumbled a little more, but finally her legs seemed to accept the weight that was being placed on them. She seemed to have more of a balance. This greatly pleased Myu and gave her the confidence to walk more, so Myu then slowly walked over to the window while brushing off her clothing during this whole process.

"It's...quite all right..." Myu replied coolly to Snow's inquiry. Myu watched her step while stopping in front of Snow's window. "No one...was injured..."

Snow, placing his hands on the windowsill, leaned outwards. Not that it would make much difference from his perspective, but it was only polite to face the one you were talking to. Recognizing the voice, he smiled happily.

"Good day, Miss Myu. How are you today?" he asked chipperly. Mag, seeing Myu's change, gave herself a mental slap at not having warned him sooner.

"So, when did you change?" Mag drawled, hoping Snow would catch on, real fast.

Tae was still jumping about, having rested up from his nap, he jogged outside, and spotted the others. He soon beamed, "Hii~~!"

He blinked at Myu, though, "Ah.. Who are you?" he blinked a few times, lifting his hand and resting it against his mouth in slight surprise, head tilting to the side, then, he'd turn to Snow, whom he tackled about his legs and hugged onto one of them with a bright grin.

Xi-Xi, meanwhile, slapped herself in the 'forehead'. This kid wasn't the brightest crayon in the crayola box, apparently. She sighed, and spotted Myu, offering a smile, though, she knew she couldn't be seen, "How have you been, Myu-san..?"

Tae didn't hear, he was too busy trying to get Snow to play with him again.

Change...? Mag spoke of this occurrence as a natural thing? Was it natural? Was she just growing? Reality settled itself in Myu's mind suddenly like a slap in the face.

...Ugh. Ignorance... How stupid could Myu have been! Growing pains...that's what it was. Stupid. She had just been to quick to judge that someone did this to her. Could it possibly be out of fear because she didn't know what had happened? If she blamed someone, then everything would be answered...and she could focus on that instead thinking about...this.

Myu threw a quick glance at Snow. She never realized how young he actually looked. To her, he was an elder and still now, but he just seemed much more relatable now. And different...he looked different...Smaller? Well Myu had grown a little taller. Of course he would look a tad shorter. Brushing the sudden thought away, Myu turned her attention to Mag's question.

"This whole thing...this...change...happened last night..." Myu's eyes then shot to the ground as she stared at her new feet. This was going to take a lot of getting used to... "I still don't understand what happened..."

"I'm still amazed!" Nyx exclaimed happily. Myu had grown into a lovely young girl, and Nyx felt like a happy mama in a way. "I think she is so cute!"

"Ah, yes, Miss Myu, errh......" Snow wracked his mind attempting to make a comment on the situation. Thankfully, he managed to escape it somewhat when Tae latched onto his leg, distracting his attention.

"I remember when it happened to Snow," Mag said, laughing. "Poor kid freaked out, tripped over his blankets, and fell out the window."

Snow, who was laughing at Tae's antics, decided not to comment on this.
