Wazo blinked her green eyes, looking around her surroundings. She could barely see anything through all the mist! And...it hadn't been so thick a few minutes ago. Her ears lat back on her head as her worry rose. She'd only wanted to explore a little while her family rested! Test out her new-earned freedoms that came with her new age! She hadn't meant to get lost! Because she felt she was lost, despite being not far from her family.
After all, what else did you call being caught in a place so full of mist one could barely see where one was going? The large adolescent turned about, then sat down. Oh no...what was she going to do?! Would she perish here in the mist, unable to get back to her family? Would she run across some great creature that dwelt here and did not appreciate her intrusion? Oh the horrible scenarios her mind ran through...

Wyconda had once again followed his father out to the boarders without permission. In fact, it was just the opposite. Caide, his father, had told him to stay away and stay by mother! But he wanted to wander; it was in his blood. He simply couldn't help it! Staying with mom was boring, not that she was, it's just he couldn't enjoy most of the games the other kids played.
If it wasn't for his red mane and tail, he would have blended in perfectly with the mist. He could never be a Ghost; they needed hearing for that, but there as other things he could do. Still, he wasn't too worried about his future right now.
A flash of off red and red caught his eyes and Wyconda moved towards it, tempted. From the mist came the form of a red female. Bigger than he was, but he wasn't unnerved; he played with larger cubs from time to time. He moved slowly, into her line of sight and gave a strangled sort of sound as a way of greeting. That was how he greeted everyone. The smile and expression on his face should read that he wasn't dangerous.

For any who knew what a Firekin was, it would have been hilarious to watch one of obvious Firekin blood yelp at the sound and whirl around to face it, green eyes wide and red-orange-and-white ears back. Wazo looked around...and then down.
And blinked.
That was certainly not a monster. Or even a big lion taking offense to her presence. It...HE...was just a cub. She was now highly embarrassed.
"I uh..." She smiled a bit. "Hi."

He just watched her, unable to hear the yelp, but he figured it was there. The way the other was flailing, her mouth opened and she looked highly embarrassed. Wyconda pinned his ears to his head and tilted his head to the side before offering another smile and stepping closer. The mist swirled around him, and it would have been easy to lose sight of him, if one wasn't looking for his bright red mop of hair.
She said something. Hi, is how he read it. He beamed and showed her a toothy smile before mouthing the word back to her, slowly. Maybe she'd pick up on the fact he was deaf. Wyconda hoped so, it was a pain to try to explain to someone that he couldn't hear them. He looked around and then waved a paw, asking her if she was lost within all of this.

Geez...if Wazo didn't know any better, she would have thought him a spirit, the way he blended into the mists save for the red bits of him. His return greeting was...odd. She looked confused. Why hadn't he said it out loud? And then his funny motions...The meaning behind them was clear, especially since she WAS lost. But...
Why didn't he speak? Maybe he couldn't? If so, that was very sad. She nodded after a moment, looking very sheepish. She was VERY lost.

Wyconda sweat dropped. He couldn't help it. How would he try to explain he couldn't hear? It affected his speach too. But momma had been working with him to say a very important sentence. His voice came slow, kind of muffled but she'd be able to understand. "No hear." He pointed to his ears and shook his head, signaling what he'd just said in case she couldn't figure it out. The he mouthed the words slowly to her: 'Are you lost?'

OH NO. Wazo wasn't just sheepish now, she was VERY embarrassed. Oh she should have guessed! But she hadn't. She looked apologetic, making sure her face was in view as she spoke. "Sorry..." She nodded. "I am very lost. Which way is out?" She just wanted to go back to her family now...and stop embarrassing herself.

Wyconda shook his head at her apology. No one could tell right away. He usually had to explain things or his father would explain for him. The blue eyed male focused on her mouth as she talked. His face shifted to that of a knowing look. Of course she was lost! Everyone got lost out here in the mists if thy weren't part of the pride like he was. But she didn't know about his pride, and he wasn't about to tell her.
After he sends her on her way, Wyconda would probably never see this female again. Unless she came back for some reason or another. But they rarely did. Well, he couldn't say that. His mother had come from out of the pride, but she knew it well enough now!
Right, she wanted out. Pulling himself out of his thoughts, Wyconda motioned her to follow him. He wasn't supposed to be out of the pride like this, but he was already going to be in trouble, so why not have fun? As he started walking, he waited for her to get in step with him.

Wazo followed, still being a little embarrassed. He wasn't too hard to keep step with, or keep track of. As long as she kept track of his growing red mane and tail tuft. Now that she was being led out...she wasn't trying to panick. And the mists were rather pretty.

It was a whole ten minutes when Wyconda finally led the red girl out of the mists and offered her a secretive, but happy, smile. He felt so proud of himself; having helped someone who wasn't a threat to the pride. Those light blue eyes focused on her once again and he mouthed the words 'be careful' to her. She probably didn't want to stay to chat, which was fine with him. Wyconda could think of a few things he needed to do for her. And it wasn't like he could 'chat anyway.

Wazo was a little sad when the mists thinned enough for her to truly see around her, and then...they were outside of them. And her eyes lit up in recognition. OH! She recognized where she was now! She looked down to the young one, smiling, thanks in her eyes. She saw him mouth 'be careful', and she nodded.
"I shall be." She said the words clearly, so that he could see her mouth move to make them. "Thank you." She hoped her family wasn't worried! She made her way back towards where she knew her family was, keeping in mind to warn them of venturing into the mists. Though the cub had been friendly...it wasn't all that great getting lost in the first place.
