User ImageThe gym was empty at the moment, save for a certain purple-haired Rocket and her cyndaquil. At the moment, both Kofuku and Nina were manning a pair of treadmills, and both seemed to be on rather good terms with each other. Behind them was a water bottle, a cup for Nina to drink from, and a portable stereo that was currently blaring 'Eye of the Tiger' out at a rather high volume. Their backs to the door, both pokemon and Rocket would be completely clueless if someone came in.

"BAH! BAHBAHBAH! BAHBAAAAAH!" Kofuku belted out at the top of her lungs, not really concentrating on singing, so it sounded like some poor animal dieing. Rocking out to the music, she received some strange looks from Nina as the pokemon jumped off to go lap up some water from her cup.

Unfortunately for Kofuku, she happened to have bad timing.

The door behind her swung open and indeed somebody did enter.

The music was abruptly turned off and a towering figure stood next to the portable stereo.

"Can't people work out in peace without listening to this god awful music and you bleating like a Mareep?!"

She should recognize that voice, for the intruder was none other than the elite, Seth. The blue eyed man standing there with his usual glare, shirtless and wearing sweat pants with a towel draped over one shoulder.

"Risin' up, back on the street! Did my time, took my chances-" Kofuku blinked a bit in confusion as she found herself belting out words with no song. "Hey man, no cool!" She turned around as the figure started to speak and her eyes grew wide. Oh. s**t.

"S-Sir!" She stuttered out, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. Oh dear god, she was going to be in so much trouble, especially if that Nurse had really written her up and he was the one who'd gotten it. Jumping off the still moving treadmill, she wiggled her shirt up to wipe her brow, showing the tank top under it. "I'm sorry, No one was in here when I started."

Nina perked up as the Elite came in, and she felt her trainer's attitude change. The flames on her back rose a little in an aggressive way on the little pokemon.

"Nina, no, stand down." Kofuku shot the order quickly, knowing how much the Cyndaquil liked setting fire to things. Thankfully the pokemon backed down and went back to drinking her water.

"I could hear you two rooms over!" Seth shot back, folding his arms across his chest. The little Cyndaquil went ignored. Considering he trained a Typhlsion, the aggression the little Pokemon showed was of no concern to him.

He narrowed his eyes at the girl, and then there seemed to be a flicker of recognition.

Wait. He remembered her.

"You're Grunt ********... aren't you." Whether that was an intentional mispronunciation of her name or not was hard to tell. His voice seemed to hold a seething edge to it.

"S-sorry...." She quickly bent down to grab her water bottle and stood back up, completely rigid and at attention. Her heart stopped when he said her name, and she had to tell herself repeatedly that he was Elite and all Elites knew their underlings name; she didn't know if that was true, but it got her to breath a bit.

"Yes sir, Grunt Kofuku Minamaya." She used her full name in a way to correct him without making it seem like she was correcting him. Her voice was strong, but inside she was freaking out. She was at the point where she was feeling her stomach starting to cramp up.

"Hmph. You didn't show up at my Pokemon training class. On top of that, I got a report that you were throwing cake at Agent Hayes in the infirmary."

Doctor Reyard had given him quite the outraged report indeed. That's probably why she'd sent it to him. Because she knew he'd give her the tongue lashing she deserved.

Despite the accusations, Seth was still calm and collected. Yet there was an underlying malice hinted in those words.

"Well? What do you have to say for yourself?"

Kofuku stood there numbly, her stomach churning as her face began to pale. Oh, she was not feeling well, and quickly she took a drink of water to try to sooth her stomach.

"In all respect.." Her voice cracked a little and she cleared her through, resuming speaking again. "I missed your class due to a stomach flu. I made an assumption that had I'd come in with a bucket and disrupted it with sounds of dry-heaving, you would have been rather displeased."

Taking another deep breath, she looked down a bit, knowing that what had happened in the infirmary was going to catch up to her. "I... had not been aware at the time that Hayes had been promoted. I was under the understanding he was a Grunt like myself." Pausing to take another sip of water, her hands shook a little. "Had I been aware of it, I certainly would not have thrown cake at him."

Slowly, her eyes slid around the room as she looked for a garbage can; she had a feeling she was going to need it's assistance soon with how upset her stomach was getting

"That is not an excuse!" Seth yelled.

"Whether he outranks you or not does not give you right to be throwing food in the infirmary or anywhere else! You are expected to act professionally at all times, not like a nit wit high school student!"

He couldn't believe he had to tell this to a 20 something year old. This girl needed a good dose of maturity.

"And next time you're supposedly ill, go to the infirmary and have the doctor send me a notice! Have you not read the protocols?"

Honestly. He often felt like he was dealing with children here instead of adults.

His raised voice was probably being heard outside, because the occasional Rocket passing by stopped to glance in and quickly moved on.

His yelling caused her to snap her eyes right to him again, and she felt another wave of nausea hit her. Oh crap, oh crap oh crap. Watching him with wide eyes and a pale, serious face, she slowly nodded. "I understand my laps in judgement, sir."

Taking a slow, deep breath in, and then letting it out, she put on her best act of professionalism. "What did you have in mind for punishment, Sir?" She had to take responsibility, and Seth was right to be incredibly furious with her, but that still didn't keep her from being scared out of her mind of him.

Well that was odd. Usually they didn't ask what their punishment would be. But there certainly was going to be one, whether she had or not.

At least she was admitting to her guilt.

"You're assigned janitorial duty in the infirmary for a week. And you will be restricted to the HQ until its over." Which meant she couldn't go on missions or take leisure time outside the base.

"And since you decided to skip out on the class. I'll be scheduling you for a personal training session with me."

There was a silence as Seth told her what her punishment was going to be. Waiting for a moment when he finished, she spoke. "I understand sir." That was it? Really? She felt her nausea subside in shock. She had been expecting such a worse punishment, but this really didn't seem as bad as what she had built everything up to be. And, at least this had been after her date with Panther and her hang out with Claris.

Taking another sip of water, her face must have held some detail of relief, since she felt like she'd just cheated death. "When am I to start cleaning?" It was rare, but she could be the adult she was, even if she chose to be the child she never could be most times.

"Report to the doctor tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you." His voice thick with sarcasm.

"Now, if you don't mind. I'd like to get back to what I was doing, in peace." The elite huffed and took the towel off his shoulder before turning to make it way out.

He resisted the urge to smirk. Honestly, if Kofuku thought she was getting off lightly, she really was a fool.

It took a great deal of self will, and the help of still being a little scared of him, to keep Kofuku from rolling her eyes as the sarcastic comment. Oh, that Doctor hated her so bad, but at least it wasn't going to be worse than what she'd put up with in the orphanage.

She had no idea what to expect for the 'private training' she was going to be receiving, and she had a feeling that was going to be painful for both her and her pokemon. "Mental note to leave Hiromi in the room for that..." She muttered to herself; at least her team was starting to get stronger.

Looking down at Nina, she smiled sheepishly, talking in a low voice so Seth wouldn't hear if he was still there, paying attention. "Looks like we narrowly avoided death...." At the Cyndaquil's snort, she corrected herself. "Alright, I narrowly avoided death."
