Okugi, a mostly dark grey colored female wold with an interesting pattern of stripes going along her shoulder, was padding quietly through an unknown forest. She looked pitifully thin from her travels and sat down, her pink tongue lolling out of her mouth as she rested. She hadn't eaten anything in days besides small insects and rodents, and her hunger was starting to show on her gaunt frame. She was naturally thinner and daintier looking than most wolves, but this went farther than that. She got up and shook her head, getting rid of any annoying buzzing flies and mosquitoes that had decided to rest on it. Her lighter grey eyes scanned the area, trying to check and see if this was a safe enough place to rest. All seemed well, so she settled down in a pile of fallen leaves and partly closed her eyes, starting to doze with her ears pricked forward and alert.

His paws touched the ground briefly with each step, and he made sure to keep his son two paces ahead of him. If only for the safety of the boy, he wanted to make sure he had an eye on him at all times. He would not lose his boy, the way he had lost his daughter. He was still bitter after that, the once heroic wolf was left feeling that maybe he had been decieved the whole time.. But he shook it off, whats done was done. He would grieve for his daughter, but he hoped that she would be safe. Its all he could do. Now his attention was attached to his son.
His dark eyes watched with a bit of joy, as he noted that he acted just as his father. Brave and strong, and seemingly afraid of nothing. He liked it that way. It meant he had a strong boy, and that his boy would be just as strong as he.
"Grissom, dont walk too fast. Stay with me." He warned, as he continued the pace. He had heard of a new pack, and it had seemed to be something that interested the male greatly. His old friend Heaven had taken his family and relocated there, and Warrick knew it was the chance for a new start. He would be happy there..
His nose caught a scent, and he paused. Looking to Grissom, and motioning with his nose for the pup to come to him._________________- The pup was not the type to mourn. He did not miss his mother, nor his sister. What he matched in his father, he also differed a bit. He was a bit more arrogant, and he knew that weakness would cause them all to fail. After all, hadnt his mother and sister been weak? Warrick had never said anything, but he truly didnt need to. The pup was old enough to know things of his own.. He no longer only listened to the advice from his father. Though he respected his father a great deal. "'Kay dad." He responded, little tail wagging as he slowed his pace, and looked behind him to make sure father was following. "Geez dad, you're really slow." He grinned, but gave his best puppy smile to show the teasing. He lowered his nose to the earth, mocking his father as if investigating the smell. Not a smell he caught of course, but his father was looking a bit more anxious. He raised his head, and wandered closer to father, sticking by him. "What is it dad?"

Okugi was jostled out of her sleep by the sound of voices. She froze, not wanting the leaves to rustle and announce her presence. She was pinned and couldn't really move, so she stayed perfectly still. Her grey eyes were huge and her ears were flattened as she pressed herself as close to the ground as she could get.
Of course she'd run into other wolves before, but they'd either chased her away or ignored her completely. She was hoping these two would ignore her, since she thought she was too tired to get up and run at the moment. Her heart was beating a mile a minute and her breath came in quick little gasps.
She'd gotten this way only recently, after her family had been killed by a rabid bear. Her mother, father, two sisters and brother hadn't been as lucky as she was. She'd only just barely managed to escape and was now living alone. That had happened when she was an adolescent and it had scarred the female wolf badly.

Warrick gave one look to Grissom, a stern eye telling him to listen to what hes told. "Go put yourself in that bush, and do not leave until you see me again." He responded, not wanting to bring his pup around anyone dangerous if he could help it. Grissom may have been brave, but he was still just a puppy.
Warrick nudged the pup into a bush, and looked in the direction of the scent. He didnt hear anything, and that was a bit odd. He didnt even feel any of the vibrations of movements in his paws from the earth.
"Hello?" He called, looking curiously through the shadows. He was one that liked to meet other wolves, though he was quick to defend his family.. Or what was left of a family dream he had once, long ago it seemed.
"Is anyone there?"

Okugi remains deathly quiet as she hears the older sounding voice get louder. The fur all along her body fluffs up in alarm when she realizes he's only a few feet away from her.
She was planning on just sitting there silently until he gave up and left, but then the worst thing of all happened.
She started to sniff, her nose wrinkled up as her eyes got even bigger. She violently sneezed, tossing all the leaves she was hiding under up into the air. She yelped and scuttled backwards, her back slamming into a thick oak just a few inches from her. She groaned and slouched forward, shaking her head from side to side.
Smooth. Real smooth.

He heard the sneeze, and jumped, not expecting that as a form of reply. He also then heard a thud right after. Fearing the other may be hurt, he quickened his pace, and stopped when he was viewing the female.
She was pretty, that was for sure. Hurt and abused he may be, but he was always willing to see a pretty girl. Though she looked dismayed at giving herself up. He needed to ease her fear, apparently, as he was not the type of wolf to fear..
"Hello? Im sorry, I didnt mean to scare you into silence. Do you have a name?" He started.

Okugi flinched when she heard the other wolf, yelping again and fleeing around behind the tree she'd rammed herself into. She cringed, then peeked around the side of it when he didn't chase after her. "O-Okugi. I'm sorry I'm on your territory!" She yelps, ducking her head back behind the tree. She pressed herself against it, her eyes still huge and rounded looking. Oh deer dung. She thought to herself, trying not to panic. Now I've gone and gotten a male to get mad at me! Despite her fear she couldn't help but remark on how nice he'd looked before she'd hidden behind the tree. He may look nice but that didn't necessarily mean he WAS nice.

He watched her, partially amused at her antics yet he did not want to laugh at her fear. That would not do at all. He was not that kind of wolf. He paused, and cleared his throat with a chuckle.
"Dont worry, love. I can honestly say that there is no land that bears my name. You are free to walk wherever I am." He nodded, and sat down, curling his tail around him, making sure to keep an ear out to listen for Grissom.
"My name is Warrick. Its a pleasure to meet you Okugi." He responded, eyes bright. He may have been hurting, the pain rather obvious to him.. But he would never let another know he was upset. What would he gain, by making others miserable as well.

Her breathing slowed a little when she realized he had no pack. Tentatively she peeked her head around the trunk again, her ears still flat. She didn't go so far as to put her tail between her legs, yet it wasn't raised up high either. "You're...a loner?" She asks, creeping out a little from behind the tree. "You're not going to chase me off?" She asks suspiciously, looking very guarded and tensed. Did he just want to talk? or was he just wandering around this place like she was? She didn't know, and she got the feeling he wasn't teasing her or anything. Her heartbeat slowed down only slightly, and she looked ready to flee at any moment, despite the soreness in her paws.

He looked at her taking her weight off her paws, and noted there was probably a reason she was sleeping here. He wondered if she was hurt. He looked at her carefully, making sure she wasnt injured in any fashion.
"Well.. Im a loner, for now with my son. We are traveling to a pack though, and the lands are supposedly beautiful." He replied, nodding. He was excited to get to the Order of the Rose.. Even if it meant he was accepting defeat in his family dream. However, he felt sure that was defeated all on its own.
"Are you a loner too?" He asked, cocking his head and looking at her with blue eyes.
"And no," he replied with a half smile. "Im not going to be chasing anyone off."

Okugi creeps out a little more from behind the tree until she's fully visible now. Her pelt looked like it was in dire need of a wash and she was trembling slightly from her own exhaustion. She sat down heavily and raised herself up some, looking at him more carefully now that he wasn't a threat anymore. 'I'm a loner too." She says slowly, her head tilted to one side. Her ears were still flat and she didn't seem like she was relaxed yet, but getting there.
"You have a pup?" She asks curiously, a slight spark coming into her eyes. She loved pups with all their energy and cuteness. It reminded her of happier times in her life and she couldn't help but be suckered in by them.

He smiled when she emerged from behind the tree, and nodded at her question. He was proud of his son, despite it all.
"You..You look like life is not taking it easy on you." He noted, looking over her. He hoped he didnt sound insulting. He merely meant she probably had gone through alot merely to survive.
"I, I know you dont know me very well, but the pack that Im going to join.. Is a good pack. Its safe, and all it requires is your loyatly. If you would like safety in numbers, you can travel with my son and I to the new lands." He offered, hoping she would take him up on it. He had a feeling he could be friends with this female. She had an innocent sort of look about her.
"Yes I do, His name is Grissom." He nodded, looking to the bush with a bark.
_______________________________
Ugh! It was about time! What had father been thinking leaving him in that bush for so long? He bounced from the bush, and began prancing to his father, head held high and proud. Why should he feel anything but proud? He had a great father, and he felt sure that this new pack would give him a great life.
The pup looked up at the grey female, a curious gaze about his face. He made sure not to be too in her face, as he had been listening to her and father.. She sounded so shy! He couldnt imagine being shy, but he would be quiet around her for awhile as to not scare her.
"My names Grissom." He smiled, voice soft as he hushed it from its normal childlike tone.

Okugi considered his proposal. A Pack...To be safe again...That sounded like a good idea to her. She was tired of having to jump at every sound o rustle of the bushes. She wasn't always so timid, but she'd found life was harsh and forging to those who weren't cautious. "Yes. It hasn't been...Enjoyable..." She mumbles, her ears now just starting to p***k up.
When Grissom came her gaze softened and she looked like she relaxed a little more. "Hello Grissom." She says, blinked at him before turning her gaze back to his father. "I think I will go with you. Some security is just what I need..." She says, smiling slightly.

Warricks face lit up, and he nodded his agreement. He knew she would be safe with him, after all.. He had that heroic attitude and the want to save others from a cruel fate. Though..something else seemed to pull at him about this femme.
"Well great. So its settled. We will travel in numbers, and when we get there, you will see the amazing life beyong the borders." He smiled, giving a nod. __________________________________________-
Grissom looked at the female with a wag of his tail and smiled. "Pleasure to meet ya ma'am!" He responded, and began jumping around her. He could only contain himself for so long after all.
"Are you gonna come with us? Are you gonna be our friend?" He asked, his childlike innocence emerging.

Okugi chuckled softly as the pup started to bounce around her. She bent over and gave him an affectionate lick on top of his head as he went by, looking back up at Warrick and smiling more broadly now. "Sounds like we have a deal then." She says, her voice soft. Naturally her voice was quieter than a normal one, her tone almost silky sounding whenever she said anything. Then she looked back down at Grissom again. "And yes, I'll be going with you, and I hope I can be your friend." She murrs, getting up to her paws with some effort. They still pained her, but she didn't want to bother her traveling companions with a triviality such as that.
