Cross-posted in the actual life issues forum, where I didn't get any good responces. So now it's here. >:E
I have this old friend, Bob*, who I haven't talked to inawhile. Mostly it's been because we were on different parts of Gaia, had like nothing in common, and we were both in relationships so it wasn't fitting for us to talk. Well, December 26 comes a long, and now neither of us have been dating anyone in MONTHS, and he decides to start talking to me, a lot. So it's been what, three days, of us talking and now the question of us dating seems to come up. There are so many flaws in that plan though. Three days? Not long enough. And I'm not so sure I trust him, I don't know if his motives are wrong, about ten months ago, before he had a girlfriend we ended up playing strip poker online. Which apparently counts as cheating if you have a boyfriend. lolololl. Uh. And so I'm kind of thinking "Is that why he wants to date me?" it's hard to tell. Another thing is he lives really 'effin' far away. Like there's no way I would ever get to see him untill I am at least 17. It's a three time zone difference. And then there's another boy involved in this, I have a best friend in real life, George*, and Geroge does not like Bob. He thinks Bob is trying to date me so he can see me naked or for some other bad reason. I don't know how George comes to these conclusions, he's never talked to Bob he's just heard what I've said about him. And George also says this about every guy I consider dating. So I don't know. Sorry this is so farking long.

And here I was thinking that you were just another innocent, uncorrupted young girl. eek
I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.
If you want to be certain of his motives or at least on better ground for dating to take place then you can always wait a while longer until you have had the chance to get to know him better than you do right now. Keep asking him questions. If he is your friend then he should be willing to be honest with you.
Although, I can't exactly say that I have a good track record myself as far as online/long-distance dating goes, and so I cannot say with honesty that it would work-out for the better or not if the two of you were to give it a shot. It's a decision that you will have to make on your own, but not all of those relationships fail. It all depends upon the people involved within them.

I dunno... this Bob person seens kinda wierd to me. and Personally I wouldn't date someone who I met online and didn't really know in person. I would say don't date this Bob person. You're right in that 3 days of talking to him again isn't very long.

It sounds like George is just concerned for you. He may even like you very much. Also, you may have made it seem to him that this is how Bob is. Let htings play out. I suggest not going with Bob until you can trust him.

Anyways, thanks for the advice people. Thanks, Soleq, Sense, and Danny, for finding so much humor in this.

Obviously since you don't trust "Bob," don't date him.
Considering past events, he may truly only be going after you to get some more strip poker out of you. Why else would he date someone 3 time zones away he'll likely never meet? sweatdrop

xLaurelX Maybe he likes me? Maybe that's why. And not everythng guys do is fueled by the desire to see naked chicks. Yeah, I'll agree with that. But a lot of it is. biggrin Come on, let's face it. Miraculously our talk drive increases a 100 % when women come out and say they're feeling pretty good about today.
Personally, I think there should be a compromise with that whole thing. Guys, then, wouldn't have to feel guilty about having sex with women and girls wouldn't have to feel like they're being used for sex.
Just my two cents on social issues.
