The sunset colored mare shivered lightly. It was night time and a chill clung to the early spring air. Yet, it was not the cold air that caused her to tremble so. It was excitement. The thrill of a grand story being executed made it nearly impossible for her to stand still.

Before her stood a very pretty mare, descended of fae if anyone were to ask Etoile. She could never mistake those wings. Her beautiful coat was dark as a scorched tree and she had the tail and horn of a unicorn. Truly she was a rare creature indeed and one that shared a similar passion. The love of stories.

"So...what do you think would be better...kidnapping the princess and hiding them away in an old cave or in the enchanted parts of the old forest?" Etoile could barely hide the eagerness in her voice as she leaned in closer to the mare.

"An old cave, because an enchanted part of the forest isn't quite as scary for a delicate princess! Besides, I know a good cave to hide him in!" The mare giggled as she beamed fondly at the other, eyes twinkling with excitement. Normally, she would rather be fast asleep as she was an early riser, but tonight... Tonight was different. Something exciting was about to happen and she was going to play a part in it!

They would be telling - living - in a story!

She had met the pale colored mare a while ago, and although they differed greatly in appearance, they do share a passion for stories. Of course, when she asked her to 'kidnap' her brother, supposedly the princess of the story, she readily agreed - it would be like being in a play, but better! She giggled again, "When will he be heading this way?"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:11 am

"Oh you're right! It would be much scarier in a creepy cave!" So they were creating the story themseleves...big deal. A story was a story in Etoile's mind and this was going to be a really good one! Better yet, she got to be a part of it. How wonderful.

"He should be here any time now. I told him to come meet me for some emergency Princess tests." To many, that would have likely sounded weird. Though Fleur had already seemed to have accepted the fact that her princess was in fact a boy. It was likely nothing Etoile said would bother her at all.

Glancing over her shoulder she checked for signs of her little brother. She couldn't see him yet but she got the distinct feeling that he was near by. "I should probably go and hide myself. Fionn has a bad sense of direction so he'll probably think he's just gone to the wrong spot...can't let him see me though." And with that she giggled, bowed her head a little to her newly found comrade and went to conceal herself and a cluster of bushes.

Fionn sighed as he followed the trail to his normal training grounds. His footsteps were light and graceful and he held his tail high to keep the long hair from dragging as much as possible. He didn't normally mind having lessons and drills from his sister but it was the middle of the night. He wanted to be sleeping but he couldn't just say no to his sister.

So there he was, approaching the area, but he couldn't see his sister at all. Her light coat stood out clearly in the dark but it didn't seem to be there. "Sister?" He called softly coming to a stop to scan the area. Had he gone the wrong way. "Are you about?"

"Alright!" Fleurite smiled and giggled again, only to stop herself; if he was coming soon, she had better prepare herself for her role! It would be bad if he caught her off guard... Although she was unsure of how to kidnap a boy, aka someone probably much larger than she is, Fleurite had a feeling that she would just need to act bolder and scarier than she really is... If he really is a delicate princess, it should work!

Just as Etoile hid herself, the young mare's ears twitched; there was the sound of distinct hoof steps heading towards them- or rather, her. Taking in a deep breathe as she closed her eyes, she thought of how an evil bandit would act - cunning, arrogant, mean and yet, filled with a confidence many would pay to have... That was the type of bandit out to capture a princess for her own benefits! And Fleurite was just a rather... Unfortunate name for someone working in her field.

Although Fleurite the bandit does have a nice ring to it.

As she opened her eyes, the way she held herself changed. The shy, bashful mare vanished and in her place, the bandit she had decided to be. Holding her head up high, she smirked, tossing her mane as she slowly trotted towards the male, "Oh, but your sister's not hear, little princess... Tonight, you're coming with me."

Fionn had to steal himself to stop from screaming like a little girl as he suddenly realized there was someone in the clearing after all. She was so dark that he hadn't noticed her until she moved and spoke. What she said didn't help his nerves at all.

The fact that the mare knew he was a princess didn't seem to bother him at all. He had accepted that title long ago and so he simple assumed others had as well. What did bother him was that she said he was going with he. He didn't even know who she was. "Begging your pardon miss...but...I'm afraid I have lessons that I need to go to. I'm afraid I can not accompany you...to...wherever it may be that you are heading."

The way she moved and spoke made him think that perhaps, it wasn't a request at all and he took a small step backwards. His eyes flickered up towards her horn gleaming in the moonlight. It looked sharp and rather painful. It was certainly not something he would want to mess with, his hide was about as thick as a flower petal after all.

In the bushes Etoile had to keep herself from giggling gleefully. Fleur sounded so cool! And her princess training had definitely stuck in her brother's mind. She only wished that she could watch it all unfold.

"Reaaaaaa-lly now?" Fleurite raised an eye brow, chuckling as she took several steps towards Fionn, making sure to stare him right in the eye. When she was standing right in front of him, she felt dwarfed by him but she ignored the difference between their heights; in this case, her shorter height was an advantage as she pointed her horn near his throat, "You know, little princess... I'm tired and when I'm tired, my body doesn't always listen to me..."

She pretended to yawn, her horn missing the stallion by only an inch as she moved. Of course, she had intended to miss from the beginning since she didn't wish to hurt anyone, but this should be enough to scare Fionn into taking her seriously.

"Oops!" Fleurite pretended to look shocked as she took a step back- But just as quickly, she smirked, "Oh, so sorry! I had already warned you - my body doesn't like listening to me when I'm tired... Besides, I'm rather moody right now and don't wish to haggle with you, little princess... In fact, we should be going... Now." At 'now', Fleurite turned to stand beside the stallion, gesturing for him to walk.

She was shorter than most mares he had ever encountered and part of him wondered if that was what had twisted her heart in such away. A height complex. Though, whatever the reason was it was becoming abundantly clear that it didn't matter.

As she yawned her horn came dangerously close to his throat. He squeaked slightly and stumbled backwards. He contemplated the benefits of running away for scarcely a second before she appeared by his side to shepard him away. He leaned away from her slightly but found it would be best to cooperate.

Taking in a deep breath he began to walk away from his training grounds as she wanted but he kept an unusually calm face. He was a princess after all, it would be bad for him to lose face in a catastrophe. At some point princesses were meant to rule. "You will not get away with this Miss."

Etoile could hardly keep still in her bush. Fleur was just so so cool! She made the perfect bandit, absolutely! It was amazing how different she could make herself just by focusing. A large grin crept across the mare's lips. Next time she needed a character for a story she was so going to seek the fluttercorn out.

For now, though, she had to wait for them to leave before seeking out a knight to come to the rescue. It shouldn't be too hard to do, right? There were knights everywhere.

As they left the clearing where Etoile was hiding, Fleurite wanted so much to giggle out loud - it was so fun playing the bad guy for once! Under normal circumstances, she would never do anything to harm a fellow living being... Or even attempt to. However, since her current role demanded for her to be mean, among other things, she would have to be mean to the best of her abilities.

"Oh, you think so, little princess? I guess I might have to abandon this plan then..." Fleurite looked shocked, afraid... Regretful for a second; she kept silent, as if Fionn's words had affected her. However, as she looked up again, one could tell that she had only been pretending to be remorseful - there was a taunting grin on her lips, "Except that I won't! Who will save you? Ah, let me guess... A brave knight? Chivalry is dead, nowadays, I'm afraid! Maybe you have a prince charming somewhere? Well, let him come... Actually, let all your rescuers come and fail at my horn, little princess!"

Fleurite paused as she chuckled, "Although if they really want you back unharmed, they'll have to work really hard..." She nudged the stallion's side as she directed him to walk down a dark and secluded path, probably worn down by traveling animals over time. Then, she smirked, "Really, hard."

For a fleeting moment Fionn was hopeful that he'd gotten through to her. He hadn't thought he was such a persuasive speaker before. However, it passed quickly as she pulled another 180 on him. He frowned as she grinned. Really she was a cruel person, as expected of a bandit.

He wanted to disagree with her. With all his heart he wanted to tell her that chivalry was not dead and it never truly would be. Though while his heart was fixated on the ideals his sister had been telling him about since he had emerged from his basket he eyes were focused on that horn of his capture's. It glinted dangerously in the moonlight and terrible images of innocent people trying to help him darted through his mind like drunken jack rabbits. If he made her really mad with one of his speeches of nobility he feared that she really would hurt all those people, or even him.

He wanted to hang his head, the defeat he was feeling was crushing. If he wanted to protect his subjects and himself there was truly nothing he could do but cooperated for the psychotic little mare. He turned down the path that she wanted to go down and shivered slightly. "You...are truly a cold person..." He murmured wondering if he would ever get to see his family again.

As the two disappeared into the trees Etoile tried to get out of the bushes. It was not easy. Her mane got caught up in the branches as they clawed at her. After several minutes of trying to gingerly free herself from the, clearly enchanted, bush's clutches she gave up and forced herself to stand quickly. Branches that had been caught in her braids snapped and dangled like unusual decorations. She could feel the sting from what felt like millions of tiny cuts on her body.

The only words that left her mouth as she looked down at her now shabby appearance were, "Perfect!" It looked like she'd been through hell which would make her next task easier. It was time to find a knight.

She raced away from the clearing and the path that Fleur had taken her brother down. When she felt that she was out of earshot of the princess and bandit she began shouting as loudly as she possibly could. "HELP!" She cried still running through the trees narrowly dodging a few that snuck up on her. "HELP! Please somebody! Help me!!!"

The disappointed look on his face almost made the real Fleurite emerge, but the young mare was determined to pull the kidnapping off, even if she would be labeled as the 'bad guy'... After all, she was sure that Etoile would be trying her best with her part of the story as well! Besides, she was having fun being a villain, especially since Fionn was doing well; her new friend was not joking about her brother being a princess! He had to be one of the daintiest Soquilis she had ever seen! She giggled inwardly, knowing that nobody could possibly "play" the role better.

Outwardly, however, Fleurite smirked at his comment before tossing her mane and fluttering her eyelashes at the stallion. As she led him down the path, horn dangerously near his throat, she chuckled, "Oh! Why, thank you so much for the compliment, little princess!"

And it was a compliment, sort of; it proved that he had not seen through her act and that she was doing a good job portraying the personality of a cold-blooded bandit... Oh! She can't wait for the rescue mission to start on Etoile's part! She smiled as a cave came into view, and jabbed Fionn gently on his shoulder, "That will be your new home for the time being, little princess! Its cold and wet... Just the way I like it."

Brioso would usually be asleep this late at night, but for some odd reason, she found herself wide awake and trotting through the forest in search of a midnight snack. However, instead of finding clovers, she found a mare who was seemingly in distress. She paused, stopping a distance away as she frowned slightly, approaching the mare cautiously; the last time she answered a cry for help from a mare this time of the night, it turned out to be a skinwalker who tried to get close to and then kill her.

Her finely-toned muscles were tensed and it was rather obvious that she was getting ready to flee if it turned out to be a foe she could not take on; her mentor would be proud to know that she had finally understood the meaning of the word 'limit'... Well, at least for the most part.

"Miss?" She called out after realizing that this was just an ordinary mare; her hair and pelt were in a mess, and she looked rather battered... Perhaps this time, its for real? She quickened her pace, coming to a stop in front of the other, "Please calm down! What happened to you?"

Fionn was really beginning to hate this mare. He couldn't see her horn but he could somehow feel how close it was even without touching it. It was like that feeling he got when Etoile or one of his brothers were too close. Though, when it was his siblings he never felt quite so tense. In his mind he muttered that it wasn't a compliment defiantly. Out loud, however, he remained silent as the grave lest his speech land him in one.

He kept his head held high and pulled slightly to one side in a pathetic attempt at getting away from her horn. He was already moving so he saw no need for her to still be so rough. The second he saw where she was taking him, however, he suddenly understood why she would need some force. He balked a little at the sight of it and got prodded lightly. It stung. He winced but got the message and ever so slowly made his way to his 'new home.'

Once he stepped inside he decided instantly that he hated his new home. It was cold, very cold, like the sun never touched it. There were puddles of water on the floor from either melted snow run in to the cave or the water dripping from the ceiling. Many small stalactites peppered the roof and a few larger ones hung down level with his head. Fionn frowned and looked over his shoulder at the mare. "You...actually like this?" He asked his voice rather close to a whimper. How could anyone like something like this? It was cold and unwelcoming and not comfy at all. There weren't even any two-legger blankets for him to rest on. This was terrible!

Etoile nearly tripped over a gnarled root of an old tree when she heard a voice other than her's calling out into the night. She hadn't expected anyone to respond so quickly but at least she didn't have to run herself ragged trying to find a hero. One had found her.

The sunrise colored mare came to a stop as well and looked over the black and silvery mare in front of her. Etoile had been expecting a stallion, preferably a white one. But if this mare was offering her assistance then who was she to complain. She had a male princess and a female bandit cast already. Why not have a female knight as well. Internally she shrugged and darted over to the mare keeping up her frantic act.

"It's not me! Please help! The princess has been taken!" She cried looking about frantically for absolutely no reason. That's what victims did right? They jerked about frantically and ran for miles in no direction? That's how it always was. "You have to help me find the princess!"

"Indeed! Isn't it just wonderful!" Fleurite squealed like a delighted little girl as they entered they cave. She then prodded the stallion again, gesturing for him to rest on the cold, slimy stone floor, knowing full well that he would be disgusted by it; frankly speaking, she herself hated being in such a place! It was too cold for her, and if not for the fact that she felt happy thinking about the action that was to come, she would be shivering for sure!

"You know, its too bad... Perhaps if you weren't the little princess, we could be friends," She allowed a soft sigh to escape her lips as she rested her head over his back, staying still for a moment as it felt quite comfortable. A minute later, however, she straightened up and shrugged, a smirk on her lips, "Then again, I don't think dainty, needy stallions are my type... Still, its a change from the company I keep!"

"The princess?" Brioso echoed after the mare, her eyes widening in disbelief and doubt. However, the mare looked like she was genuinely in shock; in fact, Brioso couldn't help but feel a little helpless as she stare at the panicking mare. She quickly decided though, that the next best course of action would be to question her further; how was she supposed to look for this 'princess' if she didn't know the details?

"Miss, please calm down," She nodded firmly as she repeated herself, "I need to know the details first, but I promise that I'll do everything in my power to find and rescue this princess of yours... Lets start with names, shall we? I'm Brioso, and you are...?"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 16, 2010 8:36 am

Her definition of 'wonderful' was clearly skewed. He chose not to say anything about this figuring it was just something that went along with her twisted personalty. Why wouldn't a crazy kidnapper think that something so wrong was good? How else could they run around kidnapping.

She prodded him again and Fionn winced. As far as kidnappers went this mare was the worst, really. She kept poking and jabbing him with her horn like he was a pin cushion and now she wanted him to lay on the floor? He glanced at it with a disgusted look on his face. There was absolutely no way he was going to lay down in such a place, he would much rather stand.

He scoffed quietly at her words, there was no way he would ever be friends with her even is she wasn't a bandit. Then, his entire body went tense as he felt something on his back. He registered this something as her head and instantly the floor looked might appealing to him. The second she moved he dropped to the floor like a rock and folded his legs beneath him.

The look he gave the mare made it seem like she had violated him terribly. "I imagine the company that you normally surround yourself with is made up of ugly, manner-less louts..." He wanted to add on something a kin to 'like you' but he didn't much feel like getting run through by her horn for that.

Etoile nodded her head so furiously that she thought it might fall of her shoulders. It made her head hurt something fierce so she stopped rather quickly and found that she was having a hard time seeing straight. She blinked a few times and staggered backward a couple steps just as the mare told her to calm herself. That wasn't a problem. She had to settle down or she feared that she'd pass out before they ever got to the good part of the story.

After a second her head stopped spinning and she could focus her eyes again. She took in a few deep breaths all while listening to the mare talking. By the time she had introduced herself Etoile was sufficiently calmed and very impressed. Wow. She knew that Fleur had just been acting like a bandit and had done an awesome job but this girl, Brioso, was the real deal. She had a moment of 'huh, cool' before getting to the answering of questions.

"My name is Etoile. And please...time is of the essence. A foul bandit has made off with the princess. We were going to play together but when I got to our special place I saw princess Fionn being forcibly led away." Okay so that last bit wasn't asked for but she was impatient to get the story really moving. It was stupid to get stuck in a Q and A session now.

Fleurite giggled when Fionn obeyed, obviously pleased with herself for succeeding that task, "That's good, little princess! You seem to learn fast... Perhaps not all royalty are empty up where their brains should be." The young mare smirked before trotting to the entrance of the cave, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of rescuers. When she realized that there was nobody about, she knew that she had to bide for time; perhaps to confuse the princess for a twist?

"Well, little princess, I know that you're internally thinking that I resemble my company, so there is no need to hide it," She lowered herself to his eye level before raising an eyebrow, "Unlike you, not all Soquilis have a warm, inviting home to return to, or doting parents and siblings... You are one of the lucky ones. Why, most of the 'ugly, manner-less louts' you referred to lived in caves like this one in their foalhood, wondering if they could ever survive to see the sun rise tomorrow..."

She paused, narrowing her eyes before dropping her voice down to a whisper, "And you know what? Some of them do not." She looked a little disgusted as she continued, "So you have no right to judge us, little princess. Just stay quiet if you know what's good for you... Some of my friends aren't as amiable as me."

"What? Bandit? A kidnapping?" Brioso's eyes widened as she exclaimed, her words sounding more like a statement than a question. She quickly nodded, giving an encouraging smile to the rather disoriented mare; despite how Etoile was acting, she was right... It is important to act fast! She frowned as she ran through the different options in her head before deciding that there was no time to rush back for reinforcements... She would have to do it alone; after all, it is only one bandit! Her training was not just for show, after all.

"Alright, I understand! Lead the way, please," Brioso nodded, her tone serious as she got into the 'danger around every corner' mindset, "And gallop if you wish - the faster we reach them, the better."
