So recently, one of my old workers (Acaulis) found a tektek of mine was stolen. Thankfully, she immediately recognized it and PM'd me. So instead of PMing the thief, I PM'd the contest maker about it.

Well, this is a very very very old tektek - page 10 on my tektek.org tag. So I can no longer find the original post with it by looking through "My Posts". (I can only get halfway down page 6) Unfortunately, the guy running the contest is concerned I'm just out to get this girl or something, so he needs the original post. confused

Well, I went through this thief's posts to find yet another tektek that was stolen from another girl in my shop (Dark_Angel_Rulz333). So now, I'm trying to let the contest runner know that she a repeat offender, so he's now talking to Dark.

When he notified the thief that I had PM'd him about the theft, she said:

The first one is one I created for a tektek conest.
The second one I adopted from a shop that gave me permission to take it and edit it.
It is not in it's original form.

I'm sooooooooooooooo angry! I'm not the type of person who would just lie to get at someone. It's obvious that I'm a pretty avid tekteker, so this has a high probability of happening. I PM'd the message from Acaulis notifying me of the theft, so I'm not the only one calling this out.

He said back to the thief:

Why do people just perpetuate this?

I've never had that happen to me (that I know of; crosses fingers) but I totally understand why you're mad. She took something you worked hard on and put her name on it. That's just wrong. If she's too unimaginative to come up with her own avis then she shouldn't have entered the ******** contest. As for the contest holder, he/she is being a douche. I can understand their concern over whether or not you are telling the truth in the first place but when someone else comes in and tells them the same thing, then there's obviously a problem.

Could you maybe report the thief to a mod for stealing? It's kinda like hacking.... kinda. confused

I don't think there's anything against the ToS when it comes to tektek theft unfortunately. I know a lot of people who have tried to report it, just to be incredibly disappointed. sad

Anyways, yeah. Tekteks arent covered in Gaia ToS because they're part of an external site. And theres no way you can tell who made what :C

Thanks for the links, Frantic, but unfortunately I made the tektek back in 2009, so I'd never find it.

Update: The contest creator doesn't care. I blocked the girl, she's a moron. Radioctive Baby Zrr is her username, just to warn you all. I guess I'll just have to take Tsu's advice and take it as a compliment. I'm considering never posting in public forums again, I get SOOOOOO angry. Seriously, I may go to anger management, this is unhealthy. o.O;

I really hate when that happens. Especially when I make Cross-Dressing Avis in TekTek.

That's one of the reasons I stay in guilds, and why I don't enter contests where I can't submit my work elsewhere to get a valid copyright on it with a submission date- like DeviantArt stare

That way if someone steals my crap I can point and go HAHA!

It does worry me when I do TekTek contests though, that someone will submit things that aren't original sweatdrop I have enough problems with people following rules, so I really can't expect 100% of participants to be on the moral high ground.

It's so sad that you can't show your hard work publicly without someone claiming it for themselves.

Well, the contest holder tried making me look like the bad guy. I wasn't even near as rude as I wanted to be. So well, he doesn't care that the tekteks are stolen.

I really want the copyrights like Daypaw, but there'd just be no way they could really do it.

I think I may just never ever post my work outside the guild again. Screw contests and shops. These losers make it so unfair.

That's one of the reason's I'm a little bit afraid of posting anything on the internet that I've created. It can be stolen so easily. >_<

As far as that evil little thief stealing one of your tektek's, at least you can be happy knowing that she has no talent of her own which is why she has to resort to stealing yours. And you have talent worth stealing!

So I Pm'd the person who made the contest.
And I sorted everything out.
I told him about her adopting the tektek in the Un-owned Section in your shop Element.
Then I told him that I thought she would use the avatar as a dream avatar.
Now I know she has stolen the avatar instead.
