Arkalia An apocalypse has come, and an apocalypse has passed. The moon turned red, as red as the blood of the millions of dead as wars broke out across the nations. A time of peace had allowed many to grow powerful, and thus, when they were sent into battle, the very face of the world was changed. Then, the moon returned to normal, and the war vanished. Of the great cities, metropolis' that spanned miles, only ruins were left. Of the people, as many as the stars in the sky and the leaves on the trees, only a fraction of a fraction survived. But they did survive, and they began to grow in numbers again. Now, their tribal existence is once again transforming into villages, to towns, and to cities. Tendrils of communication are reaching out, catching onto others, and roads like serpents provide means for trade. Yet somehow, legends survived. Artifacts of amazing abilities, spells of unsurpassed power, curses that bring unspeakable horrors into the world, and a city populated by dragons, The City of Dragons, The Wellspring of Magic, and The Talons. But to you, adventurers, you have another name for this legend. To you, it is home.

Xorvintaal Abandoned and then deliberately destroyed to remove evidence of it during the war, Xorvintaal was rebuilt within years after it ended. This city is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, and actually stretches far up the inner side of the mountains. It has eluded detection through a combination of rumors and magic. Xorvintaal was created as a meeting place for dragons that play the Great Game. It houses the five High Masters, who act much like referees. They change rules to match with the times, and enact swift justice on those who break the rules. Xorvintaal is now a political extension of the Great Game. Most players have servants, or new dragon players that they have taken under their wing housed in Xorvintaal. There are also dragons who do not play the game, though not necessarily uninvolved, as well as non-dragons that live in the city. These are usually people who are unusually talented that are brought in to be taught, or descendants of such. The lower plains usually house these non-dragons without times to the Great Game. The higher up the mountain a dragon lives is indicative of his age or his status in the game, the higher up, the higher the dragon's status. A dragon's servants also live nearby the dragon. The tops of five nearby mountains house the five High Masters. In the middle of the plain sits an enormous meeting hall. After all, it must house the five High Masters comfortably, and they're all colossal. This is where changes in the rules are discussed and confirmed, and where punishments are issued out. Many of those who lived in Xorvintaal survived the wars, and those who returned made to rebuild the world. After all, a game could not be played in chaos. They worked secretively. Many great leaders were either dragons, or advised however indirectly by them.

This is basically a suggestion/recruitment thread. I've posted some of the history and will shortly be posting some details about the city of the dragons. What I'm looking for are questions about things I might have not explained or left vague. Some things I've left intentionally vague though, so here I'll have a list of them that I don't want to explain quite yet, and some might even have reasons. 1. Details about history before the wars ended, during the apocalyptic event- During the war, most libraries and history books were destroyed I also plan on DM'ing in this setting, hopefully soon, so I'm also looking for players. Planning on making it a 3.5E gestalt campaign. For those who do not know what gestalt is Click Here. Feel free to use the Draconomicon, Races of the Dragon, and Dragon Magic, because I will twisted ECL will be somewhere between 2 and 5, depending on what people want to use for races.

Alright, well, right now I'm just fishing for thoughts of if what I have so far is good or bad, and if I'm forgetting to include some information, stuff like that.
Pathfinder be awesome heart The Summoner class is EPIC!!! You can get your eidolon to have a +16(I think) Hide at first level. If you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about, it'll be in the PHBII, paizo was releasing some of the classes early for testing.
Oh, and I've completed the information above, anycase anyone was wondering if I'd post more.

I'd be interested in playing whenever this gets going.
One comment though, if this a city of dragons, would not players also be dragons? And if so, ECL 5 won't even get you a wyrmling.

Well, the city is mainly dragons. There are some of many races in there. The dragons bring some of the more gifted species in, which provide new blood, and most who are brought in tend to stay, so there is a decent population of non-dragons around.
Also note that chromatic dragons that play the Great Game are tolerated in the city, though not necessarily well liked.
This is a gestalt game, meaning instead of taking one class, you take the best features of two classes at the same time. For purposes of monster PC's, monster HD's and Level Adjustments are counted as classes.
Examples: Human Rogue, Fighter ECL 5 5. Rogue / Fighter 4. Rogue / Fighter 3. Rogue / Fighter 2. Rogue / Fighter 1. Rogue / Fighter
Half-Dragon Sorceror, Wizard ECL 5 5. Sorceror / Wizard 4. Sorceror / Wizard 3. Sorceror / Half-Dragon LA 2. Sorceror / Half-Dragon LA 1. Sorceror / Half-Dragon LA
Black Dragon (4HD, +3LA) Cleric, Paladin ECL 5 5. Cleric / Paladin 4. Dragon HD / Cleric 3. Dragon HD / Dragon LA 2. Dragon HD / Dragon LA 1. Dragon HD / Dragon LA
So with gestalt, you can get a dragon of ECL 10 into a gestalt ECL 5. This allows a wyrmling of all except red, gold, and silver.

<.< Gestalt seems very powerful, not my cup of tea, though I shall recruit for ya if it is required.
I'll make a guild announcement for your game as well if you desire.
So yeah, just inform me if and when you want that done.

well, it's not quite like gaining two levels at the same time. If that was so, I could just say a ECL of 10. For each level in gestalt, you gain the best of two different classes.
So, as an example, a Level 1 Fighter / Rogue would have-
1d10 Hit Points +1 BAB +2 Fortitude Base Save +2 Reflex Base Save +0 Will Base Save Bonus Fighter Feat Sneak Attack +1d6 Trapfinding
Similar class features like the Wizard's and Sorceror's familiar don't stack, so a Wizard / Sorceror would only have 1 familiar.
Gestalt really isn't meant for power playing, but rather to allow for extended adventures, allowing characters to have a diverse amount of abilities.
I'll probably get more traffic if I say I'm recruiting anyway, so if you'll announce it, I'll edit the title.

yeaaaah. okay then.
Abilities: 4d6 drop lowest, reroll allowed if your ability modifiers totaled up are 0 or below, or if no score is above 13. ECL: 5 Gestalt Alignment- non-evil Race- No real restrictions, just not really evil ones. Half-Dragons are rather common, but I'm not pushing anyone into anything. Books- Any 3.5 book really. However, I might ask where you're pulling some things from.
Backgrounds- I love good backgrounds. The more detailed the better. Feel free to create places, as I have yet to really flesh out much for an overview map.
For characters who've lived outside the city most of their lives, you probably helped an inhabitant, decoded the location from a scroll or book, was lured by the feeling of some sort of exotic magic, or blindly stumbled upon it trying to determine why the mountains had such bad rumors about them.
For the arcanists, that lived in the city, you could have studied at the special institute that helps you refine these abilities, taught by many races, or perhaps you were selected as a personal project by a dragon and was taught by him/her, though the dragon is likely to call in a favor or two later.
For the faithful, there are several pantheons scattered through the city. They serve both draconic deities, as well as the others, and deities whose portfolios overlap are often worshiped at the same building.
For the fighters, there is a training field. There, you may find an instructor, and join a small band of pupils to train in the art of steel.
These are just general thoughts that don't need to be used, just potential seeds.
Also, YOU ARE HEREBY WARNED, anything you say, or do not specify in your bio will probably be used against you twisted
Oh, also, please post your race and class or general purpose, like melee combatant, so that I can put it up and other people can work around it.
Slots 1. iPedo 2. Rock_DS 3. Sivak 4. KamikaziFreak - noncombatant role 5. Yurro

Level 5 Gestalt? Hell yea.
If I hadn't just put together my Goliath Giantborn wrestler for another game. I'd give him a try here.
*Taps head* Incarnate Warlock would be interesting...

Sounds very interesting. Which alignment are you going to be Incarnate of? Also realize that you'll have to play the part to the letter. Would be fun to put the character into a moral tight spot twisted
