 Corwin wasn't much of a fighter, but he looked down at his hands and thought of Hevn, who had taught him a fighter's control over his abilities. Maybe if he became stronger, like Hevn, he would be better for people. Maybe then Hevn would come back, or his memories would return.
It was all silly, really, but sitting there in the empty field, Corwin wished for a sparring partner, even just once. Maybe Hevn would come rescue him, even, if he started doing really terribly. There was always that.[/color

Yun-Sui was excited, her tail lashing back and forth as she cautiously entered what she thought was an empty field. After all, one never knew what they might encounter there.
She formed a ball of air and tossed it gently back and forth between her hands. If she were to be attacked, she could use it to defend herself, though she preferred not to cause harm if she could avoid it, or she could use it to amuse anyone she encountered and break the ice to make friends.
Either way, if it was to be spar or entertainment, she could only hope to be ready.

(( and it looks like yun goes first. Darn it but she's not gonna like that to much))
She noticed a figure alone in the field looking down at his hands, seemingly lost in his own mind. She walked over to him carefully, stopping a safe distance away before even trying to speak.
"Excuse me, but are you ok?"
She noticed then the flames about him. Here was another elemental, like her. She grinned excitedly. Maybe he could do similar things with his flames that she could do with the winds. Perhaps he'd be willing to show her what he was capable of if she did the same?!
But perhaps not. "Who are you anyway? Are you an elemental? I'm Yun-Sui, and I can manipulate air, if you can't tell." She waited tossing her ball of compressed air from hand to hand waiting for him to respond.

Corwin almost fell over, startled for some reason. Kind of silly, as he should have seen her approach, but he probably wasn't the most alert, lost in his thoughts.
"Yes... I'm elemental, of sorts. I carry the night and the day inside me. Cold and heat. It's a constant balancing act," he said, "And my name is Corwin, by the way. Pleased to meet you." Corwin nodded his head slightly. "To answer your first question, I'm fine, but I'm rather... I want to become stronger, and someone once taught me the value of a good spar. I realize we've just met, but you seem as though you wouldn't mind a friendly competition. Just to flex our abilities? Not in the aim of harming one another, but in the aim of growing stronger." Corwin smiled and ran his cool hand through his hair.
He took a stance that would casually shift into a defensive stance, if she accepted his request.

Yun-Sui giggled. A friendly spar, just to work on their abilities? That sounded like it could be a lot of fun to her.
"That's really neat." She paused for a moment. "Sure, a spar sounds fun. As long as we aren't playing for keeps."
She called the air whirling between her hands to compress even farther, lifting it up as though she were about to throw it. Then she startled, "Oh, I'm Yun-sui. An honor to meet you."
Niceties out of the way, she figured she'd just start off with her trademark attack. The compressed air was tossed at the other twilif with just enough force to make sure he knew he was hit, but not enough to hurt him. After all this was only a friendly spar, and she didn't know enough to heal any injuries if it got too rough.

Corwin smiled. Spar accepted. And then she threw what felt like a small punch, only she never touched him. The air, then? Corwin would definitely be at odds, here. Hevn taught him that he would do best as a grappler of sorts, to use his elemental hands. Perhaps later he would be able to send his powers outside his body, but for now, it was all touch. Rubbing his stomach with his warm hand, he eased his own mild discomfort and darted forward with his cold hand forward. To slow, to chill, to cover the skin with frost; that was his right hand's curse. If he touched Yun-Sui, he would not hurt her; just frost her at the tips and give her a mild chill. It was a move intended to slow.

His hand caught her by the shoulder and she felt a chill go through her body. Brrr. The dragon blood in her responded to the cold by starting to slow her movements with her right arm down. This wasn't a very pleasant feeling, and without both arms to manipulate the wind, she couldn't control the force or power of her attacks.
She quickly darted backtrying to get some distance between them. While she could gather the air around her feet or hands to make her hand to hand skills seem much stronger, that was her weak point. She really didn't like fighting close up.
She felt like she was far enough away, and formed another ball. She could only hope it wasn't too strong as she loosed it in his direction.

Corwin saw how it would probably go; his elemental attacks were close contact, whereas Yun-Sui's were likely better with distance. He took another blow, this time to his shoulder. He used his warm hand to soothe that ache, again. It would sap his energy to keep doing this, but that was all he was good for. He could only really hope to finish this battle by slowing her to a chill; it clearly had an effect on her, the cold, and he didn't want to injure her.
After the wind's blow had been soothed, he darted forward again, running in erratic patterns to approach with his right hand again, looking to chill another place...

Though she couldn't very well predict where Corwin would be attacking from, given his erratic running pattern, she could guess that he'd probably try that chill attack again. So she just had to watch out for his right hand.
When he came close enough to almost touch her, she whirled to the side, watching him pass by, not able to stop in time. She called the wind to her fists, since he was right there and she wasn't fast enough to get farther away to form another wind ball this time.
She prayed that she wasn't as bad in hand to hand as she remembered and let her fist fly.
Oh no, she wasn't as bad as she remembered. If anything she was much worse! She only hit open air, before falling flat on her face. She'd misjudged terribly and overbalanced, landing in an undignified heap. She could only try to scramble to her feet and prepare for the next attack.

Corwin stopped, wanting to help Yun-Sui up. He was about to offer a hand, but figured it might hurt her pride a little. It wasn't a big deal she couldn't grapple, although it was kind of endearing to see her miss like that. Although they were both elemental, Corwin clearly relied on being far away. What else could he attack with? A warm breeze? Instead, he waited respectfully for her to get to her feet again. After all, this was only a friendly spar.
Once she was back on her feet, Corwin went to grapple with her again. He -could- use his warm hand, but he would save that for later. His heat was much more intense than his capacity for cold; he practiced much more with his heat. He darted forward again, looking for an opening.

Yun was glad that Corwin allowed her the time she needed to gather the remains of her pride and get up on her own. That was one kindness she knew she wouldn't get in a real battle, but this wasn't about that. This was a friendly bout to help hone their skills. And it was obvious to her that her long-range skills were definately up to par, it was her hand-to-hand skills that needed the most work.
With a sigh, she decided to give up her one advantage, and work on what she needed to the most.
She was startled when she felt another chill on her side. It seemed he'd decided to attack while she still wasn't quite ready.
Instead of simply pulling away, Yun decided to try a different trick. Holding his hand in place, and trying to ignore the intense cold, she lashed out with her tail.

Corwin felt the lash of Yun's tail, and reflexively grabbed at it. The damage to him was done, but for that split second in his own pain his heat flared up. He was a little afraid her tail would catch fire, but he was busy soothing his stinging with his cool hand. If it caught fire, he wasn't looking just that second.

To say that Yun was surprised when her tail made contact would be an understatement. She'd never before tried that particular move in battle before, had never even considered.... but seeing how effective it was, she'd have to keep it in mind.
She felt a little guilty about how hard she'd hit him, and nearly stopped fighting to see if he was alright. But when he'd retaliated by reaching out for her tail, and she felt the heat of his flame for the first time, she made up her mind to continue. Reflexively she jerked her tail out of the way so he only grabbed air.
She spun around and away, bringing her tail into play once again.

"Ahhh, your tail stings!" Icarus laughed and rubbed the spot with his warm hand. Since the battle was just for fun, the wounds were slight enough that he could ease them very simply with heat.
He realized something else about their spar: not only was it fun, it was also teaching them both about their weaknesses, strengths, possibly tricks... a very useful thing. He felt a moment of pride, and a small flicker of regret followed, shading his eyes over and dimming his glow. Hevn might be proud, but he was gone.
Shaking that out of himself, Corwin darted forward again, a little more wary of her tail, and reached out to grapple Yun-Sui with both hands, perhaps flip her, though that would require more skill than he probably possessed.
