Battle in unidentified stone ruins. Hevn cleaned his sword tenderly and then picked it up, swinging it lightly. It had been a while since he saw Corwin last, and he needed to forget that. What better than a battle? He sat on a stone pillar in what he assumed was some kind of ruins and waited patiently for someone he might spar with.((Roll for firsts, Witchneko!))

Rolling 1 20-sided dice!
Mira stepped into the ruins, eyes as dull as the anime archtype of mindcontrol. She came her sometimes to clear her mind, and so far, neither Jadecrystal or Shadow had found the spot.
But today was different.
Without moving her head, as she began to walk across from Hevn, the blue-eyed Twilif stated "I know you're there. Are you here to spar?" as she moved to sit.
It wasn't a question. It was a statement.

Hevn's face didn't move, he didn't blink or even stir. Just answered, "Who, me?" And then, "Yes," with his dry voice, his feathered hair rustling in the breeze above the pillar. He looked down, now, and stepped down off the pillar, landing deftly and with a kind of grace. He held his sword at the ready.
((Your move! Roll another D-20, since you get to attack first?))

Mira allowed herself a tiny smile-this other Twilif was truly as stonefaced as she was.
"That's nice," she whispered, taking a cloud and solidifying it into a set of daggers made of about the same composition as herself. And she rushed forward (glided, really, her feet barely touched the ground), leaning to the right a bit in an attempt to deliver a fast slice to Hevn's stomach.
Not a wound, truly, more of a warning shot. She could miss-being made of mist oftentimes hindered your dexterity-but even if she did, it was a fast shot.

Hevn took the hit in eerie silence, stepping back in the dirt and shaking his head, ruffling the feathered hair again. He switched hands with his blade.
In the soft dust, Hevn's pre-existing wounds were clearly visible. He had cuts all over his body which would never heal, though they also never grew infected or bled any more. They were just locked in that stasis.
Hevn nodded, acknowledging that Mira had hit him, that she would do as an opponent. He held his sword at the ready and darted forward to strike, leaping off a pillar at the last second to attack from above.

Mira's eyes widened in shock as the hit came from above, being unused to a change of direction that quick (because of that, she'd leaned back enough to take the blade through her shoulder). "Ugh," the Twilif hissed quietly, yanking the blade out of her shoulder with what appeared to be a sound effect.
With no warning, she appeared to fade and reappear, the wound healed-but that wasn't exactly true.
And one of the daggers appeared to change form a bit, and the dull-eyed female threw it at her equally stonefaced partner, stepping back a few steps and seeming to draw the slight mist of the area into her hand...was that a dangerous spell?

Hevn blinked when the blow pierced him. He was surprised at himself, taking another hit. Her fighting style was unusual, that was sure, and he had yet to become accustomed to this wimpy body. It was untrained and flimsy compared to what he had been: the result of years of training. He rolled his shoulder, wincing internally. Was she drawing the mists towards herself?
The blow had hurt him, though it was not a dire wound. Hevn had no magic he was aware of, but he had an extreme tolerance to pain. The heaviest hits felt like feathers, though his body still took the damage. It could lead to problems; he had, in the past, misjudged his physical condition and exhausted himself trying to pull complicated moves.
He changed his stance, circled Mira for a while, his feet weaving through the dust, before taking his next shot. He smiled then, a glint of metal not unlike his weapon flashing in the half light.
It looked like he was going to miss, this time, but perhaps he could counter the next blow.

The only trouble with calling upon this magic was, Mira reflected internally, it brought out a personality that was not her if the spell was interrupted. This personality called itself 'Rose', and had once said something about living on earth (which was silly...the way Rose had described it had been as a world without Spiritkind, and that was impossible!)
The blade passed right through Rose's body, the childish frame growing into one of a young woman. And she seemed more solid than Mira, more emotional than Mira...Rose was more everything. She was more powerful, but she was the locked away memories that Mira knew nothing about, so she would stay out until the next spell was interrupted or sleep came.
"Seems like you don't know what you're capable of," the beautiful but cruel voice whispered, and the girl dissolved into mist and reformed behind Hevn, wielding senbon. "Let's test that out, shall we?"
With that sentence, Rose took a second and rammed the senbon into Hevn's back, aiming for paralyzing points.
But if Hevn moved fast enough, the single second could make that attack fail...

Useless. This new body was pathetic. Hevn hardly noticed Mira's change in personality, but his jaw set in a grim line. When Rose rammed the senbon at Hevn's back, he twisted slightly, working his feet around to glance the blow. He dropped his sword, however, from whatever she hit, and he pulled off what could only be described as a dip and a spin to recover the sword with his other hand. It was the second time he had switched hands with his blade, trying to feel for a good position. He was trying to remember his footwork. If this grew too cumbersome he would sheathe his sword and work with his small blades, which he was much more efficient with. Being light had its advantages when it came to wielding small weapons. He missed the bladed staff he had once fought with, but the daggers he had now seemed to be a part of him.
Still, favouring his right arm, which was a little sore after his opponent hit his back, he tried once more with his sword, wielded in the left hand. How could he fight a creature who clearly had elemental properties, when he had only his lightness and stamina? Well, stamina might be his saving grace. If his wounds affected him very little, perhaps he could inflict a cut, or a decent blow.
Perhaps if he brought the combat to a higher level later, he would stand a better chance... But he was close range, he would have to keep that in mind.
Hevn took a more defensive stance and stood statue still, his eyes going dull, before leaping forward again.

Rose smiled as she twisted out of the way of the sword, reciting a spell and changing back to the more familiar form of Mira. And with it, it brought the real personality back as the blue-eyed Spiritkind's face changed to the mask of coldness.
(Mira took damage, she just didn't show it; the colder side of the Twilif had very little control of her mist.)
Mira brought her dagger out again, leaping forward fast and slashing at Hevn's chest...

Hevn flipped over Mira as she leaped forward, his body lighter than one would imagine. His reflexes were somewhere in there, although possibly buried pretty deep. He would have to fight, and fight, and fight until they all came back.
No more thoughts. Hevn emptied his mind and pushed off the ground with one strong step, attacking from above again.

Mira rolled backwards and out of the way, her hair creating a decently epic pose.
And then she was above Hevn; no, behind; darting forward with the daggers in her hands.

Hevn darted up again, avoiding Mira's attack. He grabbed hold of one of the pillars and pulled himself deftly on top, loosening his muscles and sheathing his sword. He shook his head, rustling the feathers, and sent a quiet whisper up into the sky. He leaped down and prepared to grapple briefly, waiting for a good time to take his daggers out.
