While all his family had gathered for their reunion, attention was off Jarda enough that he could slip away for a while. Unnoticed. In the back of his mind he prayed that none would notice that he'd snuck off. He would of been in big trouble he was sure. Not only with his mom, but grandma and great grandma. Quite honestly he was more afraid of great grandma's wraith than the other two. She could be scary!
With a little squeak, he hopped over a small fallen log that blocked the path he had picked out. Purple eyes wide with excitement as he came across a fairly large toad just sitting on the side of the path. "Hello Mr. Toad!" The colt said quite loudly. When the toad did not even respond with a croak, Jarda lowered his head. Sniffing at the dirty amphibian who finally decided to start hopping away.
"H-Hey wait! Come back!" Jarda called after it. And in toad like fashion he began hopping behind it. For every hop the toad took Jarda hopped. Which, to any onlooker would look pretty strange indeed.

The colt was prancing after a frog.
Arianrhod tilted her head, carefully scrutinizing the other foal. He was cheerfully bouncing after the toad as if he were a frog himself, which was slightly odd, but at least it seemed fun. Ari was rather bored herself, having only just gotten away from her somewhat overprotective mother. Gale was loving, but she rarely let Ari out of her sight, and finally, one day when she was off visiting De Soto, Ari had snuck away. She was quite pleased with herself, actually.
And now, here, this colt was quite...entertaining. Ari snuck up behind him.
"What are you doing?" she asked cheerfully.

Jarda let out a squeal as a voice suddenly came from behind him. He'd been paying so much attention to the toad that he hadn't even realized someone had snuck up behind him.
"Ah ah!" Prancing from hoof to hoof, he finally got himself to turn around. Coming face to face with a winged filly. The colt's heart still beating a million miles an hour, pounded in his ears.
As it started to slow, he began to compose himself. How silly he must've looked for being scared. And he tried to play it off like he had meant to act the fool. "Just uh...just showing this toad whats what. Ya know. Showing him who's boss. He can't just hop around here like he owns the place!" Giving an indignant flick of his tail Jarda glanced back at the toad who was now even further away. Oh well.
His attention turned back to the filly and an eyebrow instantly raised. "And what are you doin'? Hmm? Sneaking up behind people like that. Sca- I coulda been a Skinwalker for all you know."

Arianrhod resisted the urge to snort with laughter. As it was, she raised one eyebrow in amusement.
"A Skinwalker?" she said. "You don't look like you could even be a Skinwalker. You're too...silly."
A colt who jumped and bounded after frogs was most definitely not one of those vicious Skinwalkers. Gale had warned her many times to be careful and wary of strangers, but obviously her mother's warnings had fallen on deaf ears. Arianrhod trotted cheerfully around the other foal, poking her nose at him.
"I'm Arianrhod, but you can call me Ari." she said. "I'm bored. I feel like going on an adventure. What's your name?"

"Pff. Have you even seeeeen a Skinwalker before? I'm sure they've got tricks they use to disguise themselves to innocent little foals like yourself." His skin twitched as she poked at him with her nose.
Flicking his bi-colored tail Jarda puffed out his chest lightly. "I'm Jarda. And adventure is my speciality. Why, I've climbed mountains that've reached into the clouds. Braved smoking caves where giant fire breathing Kalona sit upon their treasures and guard them."
Well, perhaps not quite that in the real world. But hey, one's imagination was always good for when there weren't many your own size to play with around.

Arianrhod tossed her head importantly.
"Mama told me what Skinwalkers look like." she said proudly. "She was saved from a Skinwalker when she was my age and she told me everything about them."
She kept circling the foal, peering at him curiously as he spoke.
"Really?" she asked excitedly as she bounded in circles around him, her wings fluttering. "Ooh, that sounds much more interesting than just being around here! How's about you take me on an adventure then, Jarda! Since you're so good at them?"
