Once Diana had said goodbye to her parent's she'd quickly borded the huge red train. She found an empty compartment easily enough, as the all the students were still on the platform. She stuff her suitcase into it's compartment and helped Lily do the same, once her sister had joined her. Then she took hamster, her cat, out of his carrying case and absentmindedly played with him.
Lily plopped down on the seat across from her sister, once her owl was situated. She stared at her sister for a few minutes before turning to look out the window. She just couldn't help glancing back at her sister, every few seconds.
Eventually she couldn't wait anymore. "Diana?" She said quietly.
"Hmm?"
"When will we see mom again?"
Diana glanced quickly at her sister and then looked away again. "I...don't know."
This was not the reassuring answer Lily had anticipated. The butterflies in her stomach, clenched up. She stared down at all of the happy families who were waving goodbye and wondered what, if any, skeletons there were all hiding in their closets.
Sarah gave her aunt a great big hug goodbye. "Thank you for everything, Aunt Chris."
"You're welcome Sarah, I'll see you next summer then?"
Sarah nodded. They had both agreed she stay at Hogwarts for Christmas break, it was for the best. She knew all about the threat Voldemort and Yokishima made to the wizarding world. Her aunt had kept nothing from her, feeling better that her niece wasn't in the dark.
Sarah stepped back and climbed onto the train. She sat down in an empty compartment and waved goodbye to her aunt before pulling out a piece of paper and one of her new quills.
She began writing and ignored everything else. The surrounding platform, the noise from other compartments, the train steaming and whistling, all of it flew from her mind, the moment her quill touched the paper...

It was great to hear the sound of the familiar platform once more. It seemed all the more magical, now that Miya had passed through the barrier. For a moment, she was happy again, happier than she had been all summer. She felt safe, at least, for the moment. Miya smiled and pushed her cart next to Melody's, who was also marvelling at the busy platform. "Come on, Mel. We need to get you on board and packed away, so I can head up front with the other prefects."
Melody could hear the happiness in her older sister's voice and smiled, as well. "Wow, it's a miracle that you've gone all that time without mentioning it again. A whole ten minutes." She joked, taking her suitcase and Sandy's cage from the cart.
Miya smiled embrassedly. In truth, she had been surprised to get the letter that named her a prefect but was proud, nonetheless, and had yet to find someone she had talked to recently that she hadn't told. "I guess, I've been a little chatty about that, haven't I?"
"Yes, you have."
Miya frowned at Melody's quick answer. "Well, you don't have to agree so quickly."
"You asked. I answered." Melody shrugged.
"You know, that smart-aleck attitude is gonna get you suspended. You remember what mom said."
"Of course I remember. It was two minutes ago." Their voices began to rise as they lugged their things onto the train, amist the other students, looking for compartments.
"I'm just saying, you have a tendency to speak without thinking."
"Well, at least, it's better than not speaking at all. You used to hardly talk."
"Used to. I have grown."
"Yeah. Your right, your head is more swollen than usual." This bickering went on for quite awhile, as the sisters looked for open compartments.
It was only when they came upon a compartment with two students in it, a girl with pink hair and one with blonde, did they quiet down enough for Miya to ask them softly and politely, "Hello, may my sister sit with you for the ride?"
"I can ask for myself, you know." Melody grumbled, pushing herself in front of her sister. She smiled widely at the girls and greeted them, obviously oblivious to their current emotions, "Hi! My name's Melody Boswell!"

Erkamina sighed as she boarded the train, another summer had gone by with her not accomplishing all the things she had in mind. She held a book in one hand and her luggage in the other, topped with a owl. "Oy, if you're gonna be lazy I should have left you with mom..." She said to the owl, poking it in the wing with a finger at which it hooted. "That's better, I think..." She said distantly before she found her compartment towards the back, the empty seats meant she wouldn't have to deal with the comments yet. Even though she was a second year she still had to deal with the bloodist mentality. She hung her head softly, the black locks of hair falling into her face. "If I could show them what I've learned perhaps they wouldn't be so judgmental. But this is Slytherin we're talking about, here..."

Lorraine had heard the arguing make its way up the train's corridor. It wasn't hard hear, since she was sitting alone on the train. Well, not really alone. She had Pumpkin, whose piercing gaze was looking out of the window of the compartment, effectively chasing away the "weaker prey" from the audience of his blonde master.
The constant bickering grew closer to their compartment before finally stopping at the next compartment over. She attempted to ignore the noise but was soon threatened with a headache.
Finally, sure that the young voices were students, Lorraine stood up and stormed out of the compartment, wand in hand.
"Will you shut-" Her melodic voice revealed her french accent, strong enough to change her speech but not so strong as to have her misunderstood. Her previously furious voice had been cut off by the familiar face now before her. With recognition, a sickly, sweet smile replaced Lorraine's scowl.
"Oh! It's you, Miya. Good to see you." The girl seemed to go through a transformation from a scowling witch to a kind, innocent, young lady. A transformation that Miya knew all too well and one that had gotten her in trouble in the past. But currently, Miya was too surprised to even notice.

Diana looked up suprised at the outburst from the young witch. "Sure she can." She answered as the older girl as she turned with a suprised expression to another compartment.
Lily looked at Melody and smiled. "Come one in. What year are you? I'm a first year." She giggled. "I'm a little nervous."
Diana let Lily take it from there. She pulled a book out of her trunk quickly, as she'd made it readily accessible, and opened it. Stretching out across the seat, with her robes behind her head to support it. She'd changed into them later. She opened the book and was completely lost in it before Melody had time to take a seat.

"I'm a second year and not as nervous." Melody replied, bluntly. She had entered the compartment before hearing her cousin's greeting and, now, Melody made her way to the seat next to the older girl, grinning widely all the way. "What's your name?" She asked the younger witch, eager to make a new friend. With that, Melody was completely distracted from the arguement she and her sister had been having, much more interesting in learning more about this other girl and how she dyed her hair that color.

Miya shut the door of the compartment behind Melody, barely realizing the witch's reply. She was much more interested in who or what she saw standing in the corridor in front of her. "Lorraine, what are you doing here?" Miya's voice was colder than usual. Instinctively, Miya clutched her wand in her fist.
"I just transfered in. I thought you'd be happier to see me, cousin." Lorraine smiled and raised her arms, as if to hug Miya, but Miya saw a wand in Lorraine's right hand and, immediately raised hers as a precaution.
"Oh, I'm ecstatic." Miya bit back, vemonously. Her long-lost, french accent emerged lightly in her dialouge now, probably since she was so used to speaking the language with Lorraine, "You can drop the act, Lorrie. I know you far too well to fall for it."
Lorraine seemed to ignore Miya's comment and looked at the wand and her reamerging accent in amusment. "Well, at least, you haven't lost all of your breeding." She commented on her accent, before glancing past the wand to Miya's face, "Lower your wand, Miya."
Miya ignored the jab. She was used to snide comments. They didn't bother her...much... "Yeah right. The second I'm unarmed, you'll hex me. I told you, I know you too well."
"Then, you know, you'll get hurt, if you duel me. I'd hate to have to tell Grandmama that you lost to me, again."
Miya's eyes narrowed. "Times have changed."
"Not very much." Lorrained shrugged, now completely ignoring the wand, "The weak remain weak and the strong have grown stronger."
"We'll see." Miya lowered her wand stiffly, consicous of curious eyes and ears attentivly observing the interaction. Her senses were slowly coming back to her.
Again, Lorraine seemed amused by Miya's reply, "Yes, we will. It's seems I'm going to have a brillant time at Hogwarts. See you later, cousin." With that, Lorraine re-entered her compartment, leaving Miya confused and enraged with memories past.

Emerald Usagi quickly pushed her cart towards the open doors and then took her trunk off the cart and her eagle owl,Lunar, and gave the cart to the man who was putting the carts away and went on the train.
Emerald then walked towards the middle of the train and went into one of the empty compartments and closed the door behind her.She then looked up and saw another compartment where you put your trunks in and put hers into it.Lunar was biting his cage which ment that he wanted to come out and was then biting the cage harder and looked at Emerald. "You want to come out?"asked, Emerald. And Lunar made a screeching noise and then Emerald took Lunar out and then he flew out and stood on the oppposite seat and Emerald sat on the opposite seat from Lunar and watched him.And then when she remembered something about a sweet trolley and got her money out and ready for when it comes.

Diana scowled a little but moved her feet and sat up. She ignored the younger girls letting them get to know each other. She closed the book and slid closer to the window seat. Staring, unseeingly out of it.
"My name is Lily. That is my older sister Diana." She said remebering her manners. "I wish I wasn't nervous but I guess it's not so bad after school actually starts, right?"
Then she noticed Melody looking at her hair in a funny way. "Oh, I'm an metamorphmagus." She turned her hair Ravenclaw Blue. "Cool huh?"
Sarah sighed and leaned her head back against the seat. She closed her eyes for a moment and pictured the scene she was trying to get down on paper.
Two people, older, and with strained eyes were staring at a heavy piece of paper on the kitchen table. Sarah peeked around the corner and watched her parents. From behind her, a large burly boy creeped down the hallway towards the little girl, his prey.
"FREAK!" He yelled pushing her into the kitchen.
She lunged forward and turned to punch her brother in the gut.
"Sarah!" Her Mother shouted at her. "We've decided to contact your Aunt, you'll be leaving in the morning."
Her parents both stood and exited the room, turning off the lights on the way.
Sarah stood in the dark, staring after her parents. Her brother had disappeared before the parents left. So when she could stand it no more, her legs crumpled underneath her. She lay on the floor until 5:20 in the morning when she wandered into the living room and onto the couch.
Sarah opened her eyes back up and went back to writing.

"You'll be fine, just...um..." Melody trailed off. After her first year, Mel didn't find Hogwarts as safe a place as everyone said, but she didn't want to scare the girl, ecspecially since it was her first year. "...Watch your back." Melody advised, chuckling nervously.
Melody attention was soon diverted by Lily's change in hair color. She watched wide-eyed as the pink melted into a deep blue. "Wow...Aren't you lucky? My parents won't even let me cut my hair." Unconsciously, Melody picked up a strand of her light brown hair from her low ponytail and began twirling it around her finger, as she continued on with her mini-rant. "And it's such a bother when it's long. Of course, my sister loves her hair long. I suspect, she thinks it makes her look more lady-like." Again, Melody chuckled. Remembering about her sister made her remember about the petty arguement they had been having only minutes before, so she attempted to change the subject.
"What house are you in?"

Miya let out a sigh and lowered her wand. This was going to be an interesting year. With all she had heard about Yokishima and Voldemort over the summer, she needed a chance to clear her head. Quicky, Miya stashed her belongings in the prefect's compartment and decided her time would be best served helping the newer students find their way. So, Miya wondered through the aisles, looking for confused and/or familiar faces, all while trying to sort out the questions in her head.

Alyssa had long since sat down in her own compartment. She didn't mind the fact that she was alone, she had actually grown used to it over the years. Letting out a small sigh the blonde bent over and reached under her seat to grab her book. She opened it to the marked age and began to read.
Not even a few pages in and she was distracted by the noises of her owl. Closing the book, but holding her page with her thumb she turned to the owl and flashed a small grin to it. "Hi Freedom. You want to get out of this awful cage don't you?" Her voice softened and she opened the cage with her free hand. Instead of flying around it stayed in its cage, but had stopped the noise. "You silly bird, you." Alyssa said with a small chuckle. With that she sat there and reopened her book wondering if anyone would join her.
Sure the blonde had heard all about her uncle Yokoshima, and Voldemort over the summer but she had planned to ignore it to the best of her ability. Reading this book would help some of that. Or at least Alyssa was hoping as she flipped the page, and let a sigh escape her lips.

Liz was sitting down in her own special compartment. One that she had been in since her first year here. Crossing her hands over her chest she sat impatient, waiting for her friends to come in. However she had a feeling in her gut none of them were going to come. "Fine by me." She sneered to herself, and slid further into her seat. The dark haired girl closed her eyes for a long moment hoping this train ride would end quickly.

Kaydin was walking down the cooridor, ignoring everyone he passed. Biting into his lower lip he looked into a compartment at the end, he saw a dark haired female. Taking his chances he opened the door and opened his mouth to speak. "I was wondering If I could.. uh sit here." He spoke quietly, and the dark haired girl opened her eyes to glance at him. Kaydin recognized her immedietly as Liz. They were bother slytherin's in the same year.
The dark haired female greeted him with a glare but waved her hand to let him in. Kaydin smiled greatful and set his things down on the opposite seat. "Thank you." He mumbled and got himself situated. He pulled out a book and slowly began to read until his thoughts were interupted by the girl across from him. "You forgot to close the door." She muttered.
Kaydin looked up and closed his book. He stood quickly and closed the door behind him. Not daring to look into Liz's eyes he immediatly opened his book to occupy himself once more. This year was going to end up being a long one.

Watch my back...hmmm, I'll have to remember that. Lily made a mental note to remind herself. "Oh, I'm in Ravenclaw. I'm rather happy about it too. If you couldn't tell." She pointed to her hair color. "Although I do tend to favor pink." She changed her hair back to the way it had been.
She turned as the other girl played with her hair. "I think your hair is very pretty. I've always liked long hair but I can never restrain myself from cutting my hair. It does me no good to cut it though. I can make it as long as I want simply by willing it to grow. I can also shorten it. I don't really know why I bother with scissors."
Diana caught onto the girls hesitation in adding the warning and understood it at once. She'd never known Hogwarts to be a scary place. It was her safe house, her recluse. If anyone ruined that for her, they'd be the first to pay. Regardless whether it was Voldemort, Yokishima, or this precocious little second year. Anyone who threatened Hogwarts would have Diana to deal with.
Yeah, 'cause there is sooo much I can do against Voldemort or Yokishima. She thought to herself, sarcasitcally.
