Hey, whats up. I've been a member here for a while and I really like this guild smile . But... I haven't been really active for a while because of the outside world, but I've come back (Ive been back maybe a week[not like it matters to people anyway] ). Anyway, the point is not that I'm back, its because of a change! I wandered in today now that I had some free time, and saw some things that weren't here before. Obviously threads are posted and new members and stuff, but I mean an Attitude. You guys are saying stuff like "This is it. Its all over there's no hope Steven Moffat will kill everything." maybe I'm being a noob and I'm just not used to people bad mouthing changes, but omg whats wrong! gonk ? I remember someone posting something saying "Stop nitpicking and enjoy the show" and for a second i agreed. Then i was like "Well, they have a right to their opinion." I don't mean to say that you shouldn't think what you think, sure opinions are good, but geez, some people have no hope at all! I think the whole opinion of "SM is an idiot and is going to kill the show" is blown way out of proportion.

Exactly! I completely agree with you, Fantasy_of_the_Mind! I mean, Steven Moffat wrote The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances for Series 1, The Girl in the Fireplace for Series 2, Blink for series 3 and Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead for series 4 which are all amazing episodes! Ok, I'll admit I was somewhat skeptical about Moffat's and Wenger's choosing Mattt Smith as the newest Doctor, but once I saw the series 5 trailer, I was completely blown away! Moffat is going to do an amazing job heading the show! 3nodding

Acctually, sweatdrop , I think its going to be ok. Not spectacular. But ok. I was just getting wierded out because evry one was so much of a Debby downer. But hey, that's your opinion. Plus i think i read something about him not liking the show or the way it was. I was just trying to emphasize how everyone has there opinion but some people are just being to pessemistic for there own good.

I refuse to form any opinion on the new series until I've seen at least 2 episodes. Although I must say that The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances are some of my favorites.

Just be glad we'll be seeing no more "Daleks vs Cybermen", and hopefully the series finale won't be like one big family reunion again.

I was really surprised, and sort of angered, that so many people have such a horrid attitude. In the past people have loved Moffat's episodes, his episodes have always been the best and the favorites of their respective series. It seems like people are grasping at straws, trying to find anything they can to hate on Moffat and the new season. Maybe they really hate him, maybe their just PMS-ing over RTD leaving, or maybe they're just angry at the world. I just wish it would tone down. This guild is supposed to be about our love of a great show, not about splintering into factions and spouting hate.
I love David just as much as anyone else, I cried like a baby during his final episode, but I'm mature enough to accept that he's gone. Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but I have a lot of faith in Steven Moffat, he has never disappointed me [in DW and in other shows he's written]. I was unsure of Matt when he was first revealed, but as soon as I saw his interview, I was hooked. Yes, he's young. Yes, he has weird hair. Yes, he has barely any eyebrows. But do we all need to be reminded of Peter Davison, Colin Baker or [the ultimate] Tom Baker? The Doctor has changed before and will change again.
Give this series a chance. If this show really means that much to you, a few little [honestly, trivial] changes shouldn't effect your affection.

I know. It's like people are just giving up. Will someone please tell me how they know that its going to be the death of the show, how they are absolutely sure this is it? I've always wanted to meet a real fortune teller. rolleyes

I watched episode's 1-3 on the torrent downloads and there is a lot of plot holes and errors in continuity so i formed my opinion on that and others formed their opinion on him kissing and starting a relationship with Amy Pond and River Song. Others formed their opinion based on the fact SM put every episode down and every actor down. so if you have a favourite DR, he has called him "s**t" and you can listen to this on his BBC Radio Cast.
That's why people hate SM. You call it grasping at straws? I call it defending a TV show I love.

I complain about some guy calling my show "s**t" I defend by calling him out on it. I also find that if I was to defend him then I would have to have his opinions and then hate the TV show too. So I get a little jumpy when people start to defend him but I have never met anyone on my 3 other DR fan sites including the BBC forums that don't complain when he calls their DR "s**t"
I couldn't see anyone not complaining that he hates the show, cast and openly calls it all "s**t" all the time and then goes and writes for it. As for the wait and see before having an opinion excuse. I read his short stories and I watched his other shows, I seen his themes and I seen ep's 1-3. Hating on him started when he called it "s**t" my hate got worst after I attempted to forget what he said and sit down to watch the new show. I regret that decision and feel very angered towards him Regenerating a new suit and tie half way through changing his face then flying over 2009 London and pretending it's the year 2000 and I could go on but that would spoil the fun.
In truth, I complain in defence as I would think any fan would but I understand that people may like different things and if your not a true fan then your gonna want something new. Perhaps your a Twilight fan or something, iunno but that's why I complain. I don't nor would ever complain mindlessly while never seeing the show, that would be stupid but as it turns out, I was disappointed.

confused Why are people bringing up Twilight? Is it because of the vampires? I think it's pretty clear that these guys are evil and not at all like twilight. If it's because of the love thing then I don't know because I haven't seen it. And Grammar Nazi will be forced to stab the next person to say "worst" when they mean to say "worse." this is at least the second time I've seen this here.
