Last time she'd been out, she had ended up finding a small Moon senshi and not patrolling at all. That was all right, though, because she would have otherwise spent the whole night crying on the bench and no one wanted that at all. Especially not her. But today, she was out alone (again: hopefully she met no one who knew Captain Aries or Princess Chronos) and fully intending on kicking some youma butt.
And then maybe going to get Grayson. He needed to get out a little more, especially after--um. The reason she wasn't sleeping so good? Those nightmares.
More importantly, she thought she could hear a disturbance on the next street over. It was easy enough to cross the rooftop and peer into the alleyway--of course it was dark, it was always dark. But sure enough, right there, a youma was skulking. It had picked a bad side-street to target, though; the alleyway in which it had formed (spawned? been placed? who knew) led nowhere, so no one would be walking that way, and the street it branched off of was the quiet, residential kind of street that characterized the area around Crystal Academy.
It would have had a little more luck in the day, was what she was saying. She stared down at it; it would be the first youma she'd fought since ending up in the hospital. For that reason (and that reason alone, she was not scared of the dark) she hesitated, waiting for it to do something.

Something vibrantly-colored appeared in the periphery of Virgo's vision -- she started suddenly, looking over, and saw that it was another sailor soldier, one of the ones that had spoken at the meeting -- blue-haired Sailor Proxima. Proxima, like Virgo, was leaning over the cement guardrail at the end of the roof and staring down thoughtfully at the youma in a copied image of what Virgo had just been doing. "What are we looking at?" she asked with an impressive amount of seriousness. "Did it get stuck in a corner and it can't figure out how to turn around?"

She tilted her head, considering the other senshi. The blue-haired girl looked familiar, which was the case with most Moon senshi since the big meeting. She had held a clipboard, hadn't she?... No. Wait. Maybe. "No," said Virgo, "I think it's waiting for someone to come out. But it's not going to have a lot of luck." She thought about this, adjusted her circlet a little. "I mean if one of us slipped or something and got knocked out, maybe. Do youma get stronger if they eat senshi starseeds?"
This new train of thought silenced her for a little bit. Even if she got knocked out, she felt quite strongly she could probably wake up in time to not die. Maybe. "It would be a very weak senshi who got eaten by the youma," she concluded.
"We should probably do something about it, just in case." Her decision was reluctant, her trepidation perfectly clear as she swung her legs over the guard rail.

"Sailor Virgo, right?" the other soldier said, perching on the guardrail like a bench, for the moment. She didn't look overly hurried to get down to the youma. As if to explain how she'd known Virgo's name, she winked. "I take good notes. I network. I'm Sailor Proxima." Virgo networked too -- in fact, that was what her mission was, wasn't it? She was networking for the Zodiacs.
"I saw a youma eat some starseeds once," she said, peering down over her shoulder to keep an eye on the monster. "It was interesting, after we killed it and it faded away, the starseeds just clattered to the ground, like it was just storing them down its gullet for later. Who knows? But it didn't seem like they were actually... eating them."
Proxima spun in a half-circle, so both their pairs of legs were dangling off the edge of the building, over the fire escape. "What's your power, Virgo?" she asked. "Before we go down there and make a mess. I have bolas, so I should warn you I need at least a three-foot space cushion."

The Zodiac settled into a more comfortable position and puffed out her cheeks. "It's nice to meet you, Sailor Proxima," said the younger senshi, holding out a hand to shake. She wanted to be able to keep both eyes on the amorphous monster, just in case any poor stupid civilian came by. The best defensive tactic, her Zodiac memories supplied, was a good offensive: She was ready to jump down and squish the youma if she had to, but now that she'd worked herself up to it she wanted to go now.
Sailor Proxima did not seem to want to go now, though, so she stayed put. "That's strange." Chaos monsters didn't really eat starseeds, though, they kind of just... destroyed things. And Virgo wasn't usually in any kind of shape to stick around after she'd dusted a youma.
She gave the other blue-haired soldier a slightly wary look, and then said, "It's called Immaculate Reflection--for a minute I can shield another soldier perfectly, but..." Virgo stopped, nervously adjusting her circlet. Then her gloves, as if puzzling over how to say something. Then, brightly: "But, as they say, la fin justifie les moyens."
