Welcome to Transfiguration "Hello Students I am Professor Flips, I will be teaching you Transfiguration this term. I have been teaching for quite a long time so there will be no need for the usual pranks played on new teachers for I am knowledgeable of most if not all of them. I am here to expand your minds on the subject of Transfiguration which is a very difficult subject. The art of transforming bird to water goblet or book to quill is one that take dedication and determination."

Now, we will today be learning to essential spells for all witches and wizards, Aguamenti, and Incendio. These spells are like and commonly called the brother and sister spells, if you know one it is well advisable to learn the other. Aguamenti is pronounced (AH-gwa-MEN-tee) and it conjures a small jet of clear water. To cast the spell you point your wand in the direction you wish to cast the spell then think and say aguamenti. The second spell we will be learning today is the polar opposite of aguamenti it is Incendio. Incendio is the flame conjuring spell this spell can be use to light fires, ward off enemies, amd even to light candles. Incendio is pronounced (in-SEN-dee-oh) and to cast the spell you point your wand in the direction you wish to cast the spell then think and say incendio. I have these replica's of leg fractures for you to practice with now it is understandable that you could just repair the bone immediatly if you know the proper spell but for those who don't this will work. Also this spell helps in cases where all the bones are removed from the limb, like when Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart removed all the bones from Mr. Harry Potter's arm after a quidditch injury. Ferula: Pronounced: (feh-ROO-lah) Use: Conjures a wooden rod and bandages Wand movement: as pictured a downward sloping swish from left to right

Lesson 1: D & A DUE: 4-23-10
Hello Advance Transfiguration students I would like to thank you for signing up for this class, I may be different than your last teache but I here to teach you my knowledge of Transfiguration and that is what I will be doing. First we will be covering some advanced spells then moving into Conjuring spells a more specific branch of transfiguration and one that I learned when I was a student here at Hogwarts. Let us begin with a fairly simple spell for this I will need you to pair up, to share the old DADA practice dummies I purchased from Beaubaxton, when they up graded. The object of this first spell is to transfigure you opponent into a duck. The spell is Ducklifors and is pronounced (Duck-LIH-fors), to cast the spell you point your wand at your opponent and flick the wand when you say ducklifors, I am also going to ask you to attempt this spell silently. Ducklifors is also a great spell to use on an opponent that has a fear of birds for they will become one and will not want to fight anymore. The next spell you will be learning this lesson is Acciaio or (steelclaw), in latin Acciaio means “steel”, hence the spell making an animals claws bigger and made of steel, this only works on animals with claws, so you will not be able to use this on a horse, for the have hooves not claws. It is pronounced (Ach-EYe-oh) to cast the spell you point wand your wand at the animals claws and say acciaio. If you have noticed your dummies have been out fitted to have Hypogryff claws for you to practice this spell. The reason I am having you cast silently it gives you a tactical advantage over your opponent, where he/she will not know what spell you will be casting at them.
Ducklifors: Pronounced: (Duck-LIH-fors) Use: to turn an opponent into a duck Wand movement: point wand at opponent and flick the wand when you say ducklifors. Acciaio (Steelclaw): Pronounced: (Ach-EYe-oh) [soft h sound] Use: to make an animal's claw's bigger and made of steel. Wand movement: point wand at the animals claws and say steelclaw.

Advanced Transfiguration Homework Lesson 1 1. What is the purpose of casting a spell silently? 2. Ducklifors is used to do what to your opponents? 3. Can you use Steelclaw on any animal foot? 4. What is the wand movement for Ducklifors? 5. Acciaio means what in latin? GAMP'S LAW OF ELEMENTAL TRANSFIGURATION Lesson1 for Beginning Transfiguration Review for Advanced Transfiguration DUE: 4-12-10
Hello students welcome to the first day of Transfiguration I am Professor Flips, a graduate of Hogwarts many years ago, I was a Ravenclaw when I was a student here, but I favor no house. I was born and raised in London, in the west end area and was employed as a boy at the witch and wizard theater to help with minor transfiguration of props. I am is the oldest of 10 children, and had to teach each of my siblings how to fly, making me a fair flyer.
Today class we will be covering the definition of Transfiguration which is the art of changing the form and appearance of an object and the vanishing of objects. This magical art is governed by Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration which acknowledges the limits to the power of this branch of magic. Like Charm work, Transfiguration is achieved through concentration, precise wand movements, and the proper pronunciation of an incantation. Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration which is a law of wizarding physics which states what powers magic has to create or destroy matter. There are five Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law: Food, Love, Money, Bringing Human life back from the dead, & Curse Damage. Food may be multiplied once a real food object is actually in hand, but cannot be created from nothing. Love cannot be created, it can only be imitated through a Love Potion or the Imperius Curse, in which case it resembles an obsessive infatuation. When it comes to money, wizard currency or muggle currency, it is logical to presume there is a restriction that one cannot use transfiguration to make money, if you could, no one would be poor. You obviously can't increase your quantity of money if you've already got some, that would be no different that conjuring it from scratch to begin with. So, it would seem that each exception can have its own special circumstances. Regarding human life, if you could bring a human back from the dead, there wouldn't be any need for infiri, which are animated bodies that are nonetheless still dead. Once a being is dead they are dead, you can never revive a being from death with transfiguration Also regarding human life you can transfigure a human into another species such as a human into a ferret. And lastly regarding Curse Damage in this exception its best to teach it with an example: After Order of the Phoenix Member, George Weasley is cursed by former deatheater Severus Snape with the Sectumsempra Curse, we see there are restrictions to healing charms. When a young Harry Potter asks if George will be ok, Order of the Phoenix Member, Remus Lupin says:"I think so, although there's no chance of replacing his ear, not when it's been cursed off." George’s mother, Molly Weasley says it couldn't be repaired because of "Dark Magic". Obviously, the intended effect of "Dark Magic" would be damage that couldn't be undone. Non-human Life is not an exception, as birds can be created using the spell Avis, and flowers with Orchideous. However, It´s impossible to bring a dead being, (animal, person or plant) back to life again. Leprechauns may create objects that look like gold or money, but which will, in time, change back to the original object, it is merely an illusionary transfiguration, like the gold given to the Weasley Twins at the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. The Geminio Curse may also cause the illusion of created gold, as was witnessed in the Lestrange Vault at Gringotts in 1998. However, this was a curse placed on the real, existing gold and would multiply any object it was cast upon, not necessarily gold.
