Things were happening quickly now, as with any great power they were forming a great number of enemies, and this in turn left him eager to secure alliances and ensure that his own court was made ready. Most important to him now were filling the empty positions whose responsibility it was to secure tributes, ferret out enemies, and make allies, the lords and ladies. He had seen Raelin show an interest in becoming a lady in her own right, but the fact she had taken Haemon with her on a venture did not prove promising. For this reason he wished to speak to the lord alone, about his mate, his pups, and his loyalty to the pack. Of course he also wanted to inquire what exactly had happened on their journey as well, and what tribute they had collected.
Chernabog did not like to leave chinks in his armor, and here and there he saw a few, but he intended to correct them, to put each member of the court in their place proper and ensure that they continued on their reign of terror. The pack meeting would be held soon and he was eager to choose the proper wolves for the proper positions. In both Raelin and Gabrielle he saw something he did not like, a softness. It was not physical weakness perhaps, nor was it the acceptable tenderness that seemed to curse the female sex, no this was different and dangerous. Worst of all it seemed Haemon, who he prized so highly as a lord was also becoming...but no! No, Haemon was above such things, he hoped, he would clarify it all today and let it concern him no longer.

Haemon had known ever since arriving back from his and Raelin's visit from Draug Faroth that a visit from or too the goblin king was inevitable. A few days had passed now, Draug was far to the north but guided by Chi Yoko they had made good time, skirting the edges of Akiiki Chiibale. Since their return Haemon had discovered that his Aunt, Ulfhildr had hunted down himself, Geri and Freki and no resided within the Reign, this did not bode well for his little family and furthermore he had found out Gabrielle had allowed Geri, Freki and Ulfhildr to meet with his offspring, something he was not happy about at all. He did not worry for the girls or Liulfr but it was Nessus that concerned him, ever since his and Raelin's return his son had been acting far more unusual than before and he could not help but believe it had something to do with his meeting with his brothers and aunt. Curse Gabrielle and her stupidity and curse himself also for being so naïve that he could of raised his own little family up and away from the corrupting influence of his own immediate family.
Family aside he knew it was now time to go and present himself to his alpha. The shamans tall skeletal body gobbled up the ground as he glided menacingly towards the alphas den.

He waited and watched at the lord came before him, he moved with grace and confidence and Chernabog was pleased to see that none of the original power in his stride had been lost of made soft. Haemon was still every inch a lord, he commanded respect and for that Chernabog held him in high regard as he did all his lords. These were his...friends if one could dare to use a term of such familiarity with one such as he. Still, they made good council each of his unique lords Clooney, Hades, and Haemon. It was his ladies that seemed to need some straightening and filling out. He would try and allow Mog to straighten things out among Liriel and her brood, but in the meantime he had to see about filling the other positions.
"Haemon." He greeted simply, his tone was easygoing no trace of humor or displeasure, he would allow the shaman to set the tone of their meeting.
He moved down from the obsidian den, his paws sure and stable on the sharp rocky ground. He sat down infront of the other male, Haemon was one of few males who could match him in size, yet he didn't see to mind, he was confident enough that sitting or even laying down wouldn't have threatened him. Size was one of those laughable tiny advantages that others often credited too quickly for lack of ability to counter it.

Haemon came to a steady stand still at the base of the alpha's den and his vermilion eyes met the fiery red of the alpha's before his dipped his head in greeting and then raising his nose again to watch as the alpha climbed down from the entrance of his den a sight he could never help but be amused at and a small tug at the corner of his maw caused him to smile slightly to himself. Placing himself higher than any approaching wolf, the symbolism was not missed by Haemon. But soon the smile slipped from his maw and his mind turned to the inevitable; he'd have to in form the goblin king that Draug Faroth was against them and would, under no circumstances, offer tribute to the Reign.
The meeting hadn't gone well at all, firstly the Beta male had been ferociously protective at the boarder and even when Chi had tried to convince the silver male that Raelin was Haku's niece the male still would not let them pass. Chi had then flew off to find Haku while his temper waned and his mood darkened and he threatened the dragon marked male ignoring Raelin's protests he blotted her out but before threats became actions Haku met them. Quelling the scene the alpha had been pleased to see Raelin though still kept a wary eye on himself. HanGeng left them to it, though with a great deal of apprehension and after the pleasantries were exchanged Haemon stated his main reason for coming.
He maybe Raelin's mate and Haku her Uncle which upon observing them together she seemed to look at him like a lost father, perhaps from what she'd told him, he'd of taken a little of that roll on after her own had scarred her so badly. However Haemon was a Lord of the Reign of Terror and that weighted out the connection with Haku through Raelin. Maybe when Haemon was alone with Raelin his mood softened and he let her under his skin and showed her his vulnerable side but that was a hidden side to him that only Raelin was untitled to see. He wondered often if she herself forgot who he truly was besides this. He stated his claim to Haku, demanding Tribute for the Reign, his mood darkening as he threaten Haku with his foolish decision and only when Raelin broke in loud and clear enough did he take a long look at Haku, glancing at Raelin he turned his back and left Draug's territory leaving Raelin to speak with Haku, on matters regarding Tribute or family, he did not know and he had still not asked; she'd tell him if she wanted to.
That night Haemon had waited patiently for his mate and with no words passing between them he returned to the Reign without a tribute.
Now staring into those fiery eyes he saw no reason to dance around the subject, the whole reason of his approaching the alpha, he simply informed the helmed male, 'Draug Faroth will not offer tribute and are marked as enemies.'

Ahh, so his lord was not going to skirt about the subject, the news was not pleasant but Chernabog was not one to fret. Draug Faroth was foolish if they thought they would be spared for having a relation among the Reign. Perhaps that was not their reasoning at all though, perhaps they were simply over confident. The goblin king was not over confident though, and as much as he wanted to leap up and proclaim an attack he knew they would need a spy to check the conditions of the other pack first and then arrange their own warriors and battle plans. He might have asked Haemon for any particulars but he needed to discuss other matters before them.
"It is regrettable that they are foolish, but we will have to mark them as enemies, any who we find will be enslaved or put down. As for the pack...well we shall deal with them in due time." He paused for a moment before his eyes focused on Haemon's his tone was clearer now holding no trace of the pity he had used to mock the other pack. "Your mate's family dwells in Draug Faroth, it was the reason for the journey originally was it not?" He did not need to ask any further questions, the implication was there. It was not only Raelin's loyalty being questioned now, but his own and that of his pups.
It would be a tragedy to loose a warrior as capable and clever as Haemon, so brave and full of talent, but Chernabog would not risk spies and betrayers among his court. He needed to rest assured that his courtiers and lords were loyal to the reign, and only the reign. It was in their common interest to protect their darker sides from the self righteous fools who called them monsters. They were really going about it rather civilly he thought, they could have simply started to slaughter every pack, each lone they came across. The Reign was most gracious in allowing other packs to offer tribute and spare themselves any unpleasantness.

Haemon stared into those fiery orbs and his face darken and he could not control the words as they rolled rapidly out of his maw, 'Raelin may be my mate and her uncle may be the alpha of Draug Faroth but my own family reside within the Reign, that is your answer.' Haemon's eyes glowed dangerously but as the fire of the other males eyes glowed and flickered he tore his away, he growled softly to himself and turned his shoulder to his alpha in frustration. He flickered a look at the other male and then looked forward and began to pace out to the left. He came to stop a few paces away, he stared out into the undergrowth not really seeming to take anything at all in and then he turned and stalked back to stand once again in front of his alpha. He looked at the goblin marking screaming on his chest and then through to his heart, he sensed the strong muscle pumping rhythmically and the flow of blood eased his mind momentarily. He raised his eyes to the helmed male, his eyes now calmer in nature, less aggressive.
'The well fair of the pack, Draug Faroth that is, is none of my concern, I merely went to collect tribute as is my duty.' His eyes questioned now if the alpha was going to send him back to action a threat though he did not voice this, he continued, 'I can understand your concern but I give you my word that my loyalties lay with the Reign.' As much as he had found solace in Raelin's company he would not do anything to jeopardise his position with the pack, the goblin monarch had accepted him into the pack and acknowledged him with great talent on the off set, his own mate, Moghedien, had brought him into the packs clutches. Haemon failed to be acceptable by many packs, he had a certain lust that would be unsavoury to most, here it was allowed to flourish should he allow it. On top of that his brothers, Geri and Freki, now resided here and as much as he hated them they were still flesh and blood and the of course the only possibility of gaining an admiration of in a fatherly sort of light, which secretly he had always sought. Furthermore Ulfhildr had now hunted them down, the she wolf was deaths minion prowling in a wolf form but was his aunt and now she knew he was here there would be no escaping her influence.
Raelin was his source of salvation, running to Draug with her may save his soul but as he stared into his alpha's eyes he knew that was never ever going to be possible, his soul was already tarred. A grin swipe across his maw, if he was already going to hell he may as well relish the fact and rack up as many joyous sins as he could before the debt collector came for him.

Chernabog had not expected the comment to go over smoothly, he controlled his own temper as Haemon's flared. A part of him wanted to pick a fight with the male for the defiant look, but he stopped himself. It was reasonable for Haemon to be upset by his question, he had asked it for that reason after all. Besides the male turned away and regained his own composure before Chernabog could loose his. The words rang sincere, and he knew that his lord was true to the Reign. Love had not weakened him, not in the fashion that the king had worried about. Still, the failure to collect tribute was something that would need to be addressed.
"Your pups...are not pups anymore, it is time for them to learn their places within the pack. I want them to begin their formal training, as warriors first until each finds their place. Kiara will be available to assist them since you and your mate have more pressing duties." He waited a moment before nodding.
"You will return to Draug Faroth alone, let their alpha know that having his niece among us will not allow him to show this court disrespect. If he does not offer tribute...I want you to leave him a clear message. Kill of theirs, wound one, do something to show them that we do not permit defiance. We can be allies and share our families...or we can destroy them and their families." His gaze narrowed on Haemon for a moment, he considered having the male take another with him, a warrior perhaps such as Geri or Freki. Yet it was an insult to suggest such a thing, no he had faith that Haemon could complete this task alone.

Haemon's eyes almost glazed over while listening to the goblin monarch. He knew what his duties were and he even knew what he was going to have to do while he was back in Draug's territory. There was no way Haku was going to give tribute, that much was clear from their first meeting so he was going to have to physically do something as a message for the pack and the surrounding ones that no one denied the Reign of what they asked for. However when the alpha mentioned his pups his eyes lost their glaze and he stared hard at the large male and his eyes then narrowed slightly.
He was protective over his small family, they were his only source of peace in a life of strive and bloodshed and the greatest part of him did not want them sharing that sort of life with him but living in the Reign meant inevitably that they would at some point have to deal with the harsh reality that life wasn't as sheltered and as kind as he and Raelin had led them to believe thus far, a foolish mistake perhaps but this was his first brood and he was a protective father, a stark contrast of his own. Nessus did not worry him, the blood red male already had chosen his path as a warrior, spending a great deal of time with Geri, Freki, Ulfhildr and her mate, in fact he shunned his own immediate family. Kaida, well she was quite, calculating and she seemed to be able to hold her own, yes he was happy for her to train as the alpha saw fit. However Nayeli and Liulfr were another matter.
Nayeli was his princess she was soft, gentle and adored him and he relished this fact. He did not know what to do about his sweet baby, the alpha would not allow her not to be of some use and she'd be no good as a warrior nor to put forward as training as a lady and the thought of her being turned over into a slave did not sit well with him. He wondered then, if other members of the pack were permitted to keep slaves for their pleasure why could he not keep his own daughter to himself to do with as he choose, that way he could keep her save, maintaining those beaming smiles of hers and he could keep what little sanity he had by absorbing her daughterly affections. He truly did not know but she was not a warrior nor a lady.
Liulfr, now that was a puzzle but one he believed he had solved. He looked at the alpha directly after having let his mind wonder for a moment over his thoughts and proposed this, 'Liulfr, my youngest son, is a haemophiliac and therefore I cannot allow him to train, any wound he gains could possibly lead to his death, whether that be a flesh wound or bruising to organs, anything that causes a rupture and bleeding to occur.' He knew the alpha probably didn't value individuals that much but he also believed his mate, Moghedien, had had some sort of effect on him, possibly starting to see more use in every tool he was given. 'Liulfr is gentle, a fault perhaps but he is loyal to his family and pack mates and Raelin isn't always going to be able to heal and tend everyone after a battle or fight, let him train under her as her aid.'
He knew the subject about his offspring would not interest the alpha all to much but hopefully the male would realise they meant a lot to him and his sanity and as he was a great merit to the pack that in itself meant that humouring him on the matter of his pups was worth while, for now at least. Once he knew where he stood one the matter of his pups he could focus on work at hand once again. Haemon had many weaknesses and all of them were laid bare to the alpha but also he had many strengths and he would prove of great use once he returned from Draug.
