Long ago, the seven races lived in harmony. The humans, shape-shifters, vampires, were-animals, mermaids, angels, and the demons all lived on Earth with their own boundaries and contracts. Peace was kept until the day the human king began to war with the other races for absolute control. The six remaining races escaped from Earth and fled to the rural planet of Pan. There, each race settled on one of the six floating islands that rested in Pan's atmosphere. The main body of Pan was later titled the Central Kingdom where the land was kept completely neutral. Because of this, the capitol of the Central Kingdom, Arcadia, quickly formed into the heart of cultural and trade growth as the years passed.

The setting is Arcadia, the capitol, and you may choose one of the six races (humans aren't exactly welcomed with open arms)..... so let the story begin.

Seraphe took in the place around her. She took in the people. She took in the colors that scattered the days around her. She breathed in the exotic scents that had come from all the Floating Islands. All around her was Arcadia, the capitol of the Central Kingdom on Pan. She slowly let out a breath as both the purity and impurity swept over her.

Thrashing, clawing, biting. A wolf, a cobra, a mountain lion. An ancient creature unfamiliar to someone who worked outside of a top secret labratory. Every desperate effort thwarted again and again. A scream, an unforgiving laugh, and a terrible glare. A woman with auburn hair, lying on the floor, trying to try and try again. The effort was too much, and her captors knew it. Three demons against one shape-shifter was hopeless. "Foolish little animal, that pathetic will of resistance will be broken before too long. Your ours now." The leader of the three satanic looking beings clawing at the helpless women gave another soulless laugh, the fire that ignited in the room cackling alongside him.
Forest sat up in his sweat drenched sheets, trying to push the terrible images out of his head, giving out frustrated cries, it had been another sleepless night, of the same nightmare and scratchy sheets on the road, in the city of Arcadia, in a modest motel in a busy part of the city. The woman with auburn hair, his mother, hadn't known it, but Forest had been watching her struggle with the demons that night. He had awaken of thirst and wanted a glass of water, not knowing there had been three invaders interrogating his mother downstairs. He wasn't sure what kept him from trying to aid his mother that night, a desperate attempt to somehow save them both from three demons, but he had. He had remained frozen and stunned. To him, it was like watching the seams that held his life together slowly become undone. Somehow he survived that night, without no one knowing he was there, and the guilt that came from that fate was unbearable. And now, that guilt led his life, a pitiful pile of undone seams. It had been many years of endless days and nights searching, but nothing and no one came to him. He was so tired, and so tired of nightmares and scratchy sheets.
He stretched out his arms, already recovering, as if out of habit, from his nightmare. It took him a moment to familiarize himself with his human like arms and legs, countless days spent as different species of birds and animals left one thinking they had feathers and tails. Flying and crawling to spy on anyone or anywhere he thought useful to his cause. An image of the pain stricken woman with auburn hair stared him in the face again. The picture was enough to send him out of bed, throw on the same careless pair of jeans and black shirt, and start another day of endless searching.

A strange firgue was standing on top of a tall building in the center of Arcadia. Two large ears perked up fro mthe brown hair, a tail flicked out from behind the femine figure. It swiftly and quickly turned to the right and began jumping roof to roof, doing acrobats inbetween while she flew through the air. On her back was a 7mm magnum strapped to her. Her orange eye swere open, almost seeming to glow. She jumped up toward a much taller building, but grabbed onto the gutter. then pushed against the bricks and flipped backwards falling. She went side to side, kicking off the two brick walls inbetween the building, makign her decent much easier. She landed on the ground ofthe alleyway almost silently. The shadow of the shade hide her almost completly, except her two orange eyes glowing in the darkness. She slowly walked to the end of the alleyway, sticking her head out into the sunlight. Her gun was oof now, in its normal hiding place when it wasn't in use.

The girl was strange, covered in fur not liek the other were-animals. They usually looked more human. Her two fox ears twitched to the noice of poeple's footsteps, their heart beats. Her high powered ears could hear everything for miles, but easily being able to block out what she didn't feel nessasary to heal. She pulled out a small bag and droped a few golden coins into her hand. She sighed as she counted. Only having 13, it wouldn't last long but maybe here it could get her some food. It does look by the girl's figure she was not completly well fed.

Seraphe walked. She felt the cobblestones beneath her leather shoes. A life in the military had tortured her senses into sharp accuracy that followed her even now in this neutral zone of Pan. The people surrounding her were a dizzying cacophony of colors, the five other species that occupied this world like a chaotic orchestra of confusion. She loved it. Being a demon--and a cruel on at that--she had kept some of her old attributes.
Seraphe kept walking, falling into her familiar parol-like gait. Then, she spotted a half-transformed were-animal. Half-transformed and half-starved. Sera walked over to her, about to offer to share breakfast.

Forest, after running by a bagel shop for breakfast, began to make his daily rounds to the key places he had learned to get most of his leads: First on his list: The DRC, Demon Recruiting Center.
Naturally, anything less than Demon wasn't allowed to enter the building, despite the Neutral Zone Laws, but Demons will be Demons...and that's exactly why Forest, presently a Black Widow, was dangling from the cieling, listening to a nice pair of chatty demon recruiters.

"So, how did that film thing go with the new recruits?" The one on the left, a scarred and well-built demon asked his colleague.

"Well, I don't see how they would have gotten anything out of it. I mean, the whole thing was about restrictions, and how they are beneficial to the needs of Demonic Soldiers. They even used old General Seraphe as an example..."

"General Seraphe? Wow, you know, I was almost certain I saw her walking over on Belavon Street this morning, didn't you hear that she was living around here these days?"

Forest didn't waste his time with the rest of their conversation, the Black Widow crawling out the door had one thing on his mind: Belavon Street.

Ruby's ears perked and looked at a girl, she sniffed the air, easily able to tell she was a demon. Her tail flicked side to side as she dropped her few gold coins into her small brown bag. "No miss. I wouldn't want to be a bother." Ruby said. Her voice was young and childishish like, yet serious and femine in tone. It was a strange combination indeed but felt well to the ears. Ruby didn't just not want to be a bother, but she wasn't ones to like help from others. Tho at times she had to she doesn't really like it. She is very independent, one reason she doesn't have a home and doesn't really ever sleep unless her body is so tired she can not take a single step. "You can just point me in the direction of a place with cheap food that would be great." She said with a gentle grin.

Ruby looked around with her orange eyes. She didn't know exactly what street she was on and looked up and down and didn't see any nearby street signs. But she didn't care that much, as long as trouble wouldn't be there. She had travelled by roof top a few moments ago and lost track of where she was, and didn't know she was on Belavon Street.

Belavon Street was a few blocks away from the DRC, on foot, it would have been fifteen minutes to reach it, but with wings, it was only few valuable minutes. Forest chose the most innocent looking bird, based on the most populated species in the area. He didn't even know what the small black Arcadian birds might have been called, but transformed on the soul knowledge of what they looked like. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite for this General Seraphe, he knew nothing of him but the name. He only knew that he was a General and a Demon. Hell, he could have been a woman. He had no clue. So, for the time being, he perched on the highest building on Belavon Street, scouted and scanned every Demon he could see through the busy city street, and waited for any miraculous signs of this General to appear.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 26, 2010 5:36 pm

Ruby looked up when she heard the flapping of wings. She looked up to only see a bird sitting there looking around. She may be fox and canine, but that didn't make her case after birds for food. Tho at some tiems she had to think about it because her money has ran out. Sophia shook her head, letting her ornage eyes hide behind her brown hair. The bright light shined brightly on her eyes and some poeple that walked by wseemed to be annoyed by it. She took a step back in the alleyway, hiding most of her body in the cool shade. Her tail flicked back and forth in the shadows. Ruby had looked away from the bird now and now looked up and down the street. The kitsune scratched behind her ear. She was part demon and felt like having some blood flesh for food, and her fox part made her want to go chase after a damned squirrel or something.

Seraphe watched the young kitsune brush her off and shrugged. No harm done in asking, after all. Still, she dumped a couple of gold coins where she had been standing just in case the girl wanted a meal. She walked around Belavon Street with that odd sensation that she was being watched. She looked back at the kitsune just in case she was looking after her for something, but it became only more confusing when the girl was completely distracted by something else. Sera looked up at where the girl was looking--a bird that seemed to be common around Arcadia.
Sera locked eyes with the bird. It's copper eyes seemed much more intelligent than she deemed necessary. Her military skills kicked in and she closed off her thoughts from any listeners. She wasn't about to be fooled by some arrogant shape-shifter who thought her guard was gone. It may have been down, but it certainly was still present.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 26, 2010 6:00 pm

Ruby looked down and snatched up the gold coins with great spead. Ruby looked around then put them in her bag. She jumped to her right against the brick wall, kicking upwarded and off with her feet, then doing the same to the left. This way she came up the wall the way she came down. She landed on the roof top easily. She backed up and ran as fast as she could. She jumped off the edge. She reached out, and seemed to fly over the street, she rarely jumped this way since it was easy tomiss calculate and land on concrete. She landed on another building on the complete other side of the street on all fours. She stood up and walked to the corner of the roof. She squatted down and sniffed the air. She was near the bird. "Shapeshifter eh..." She said to herself and tilted her head to the side. She knows he probably heard her speak but she didn't care. Not a lot of demons would be able to tell unless highly trained or he had a cut and they could smell his blood. But Ruby was able to tell since she was part animal and had a great scence of smell.

Forest didn't have to wait very long. Two peculiar things happened in a span of few minutes. Beneath him, he had been oblivious to a little exchange between two women, both rather unusual in their own way. One, a fox like creature, different from any were-creature he had seen before, the other, a silver haired demon. Forest looked over them thoroughly, finding them beautiful, yet his senses flaired, these were dangerous women.
As if they had heard my thoughts, the fox-like woman glanced up, shook her golden hair, and ran down the alley.
The Demon, glancing in my direction, met my eyes, and just for a split second, her face changed from undisturbed to grip of iron, like it was trying to hold something against me. I knew she'd be worth my while. Maybe she could even lead me to General Seraphe.
I flew down, straight infront of her, caution flaired through her body, but she kept her ground, we met eachother's eyes, and I headed for the alleyway. Turning into my human body once out of view, but keeping my arms in easy reach of my dagger, waiting for her to follow.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:34 am

Seraphe looked the shape-shifter in the eyes. She watched him transform with guarded eyes. Shape-shifters were tricky bastards. If she had been any demon other than herself, it would have been near impossible know who he was in his animal form. But, because she was former General Seraphe Arceneau of the Demon military, her mind pinpointed his scent and manner of moving. Then, seeing that he intended for her to follow him, she turned the opposite direction and walked directly into a nearby cafe. If he was going to try something, she would prefer he tried it in public where quick, violent movements weren't tolerated. She sat at the booth by the window overlooking the street. Once comfortable, she stared defiantly into his eyes across the courtyard and waited for his move.

Ruby watched as the bird flew off. She followed as fast as she could. Running on the rooftops on all fours. She looked down the alleyway of which the bird seemed to have flown odwn. In the deep dsahdows of the alley way you couldn't really see anything. Her orange eyes blinked, her pupils going to slits, focusing more and only able to see a figure of a man. That was very interesting to her indeed. But then her stomach growled loudly. She noticed the girl had gone into the cafe. Ruby jumped down the same way she had, but a different alleyway from the man. She walked past his alleyway and walked into the Cafe. "Is it okay if I eat with you, miss?" Ruby asked with a grin. "They usually don't like me in their stores because all the fur. But I bet they'll let me eat here if I'm with you." Ruby said iwth a sweet grin.
