This is the PRP Contracting/ Essence Spark Pickup RP for Mizu_Taji

Location: Life Essentials shop
Weather: Springtime~ Warm sunshine shimmering through the chinatown alleys

Graficcha/EssentialShrimp will RP Miss Longway, Misha & Banning
Mizu will RP her forgetful bundle of joy.

Yattah! This will be neat, first time I'm encountering your fella ey, Mizu~

You give me the first salvo~ Either you assume he has been in touch with Life Essentials before, and now comes by to pick up his mail order bride Spark, or he comes snuffling by and decides on the fly to go for it. Maybe he's read flyers before, got a personal correspondence invitation? It's all possible, pick what works best for you.

-For information about how the shop itself works, you can find out a lot more by browsing for other pickup RP's, and the basic info section somewhere here in the guild, there's even a floorplan of the lobby XD
-As your Proto stage art is complete, you're allowed to RP the emergence in the shop itself, should you want to do it right here. It has, in fact, happened before.

Unus wondered if he really should be doing this. He stared at the piece of paper with his sister's handwriting on it. She had been insistent on this from the beginning, setting up interactions with E.B.I. Duo was a hacker by trade, working for the same general company that Unus did, and she had come across the company several times in her circle. She said that they might be able to help out in a way that normal electronics couldn't. The sentient items would be able to follow him in case he forgot it, and would be able to remind him of things without needing to remember to program in the reminders. Then Duo could spend a little less time calling to remind him of things and more time doing her job, and would be less on the chopping block of being fired.

"So I just need to hang a left and the building should be about a block down..." he said, reading the instructions on the paper before taking the left as instructed. Finding the shop wasn't that hard honestly, and he quickly moved inside.

"Um..." he said as the door shut behind him, looking around to see if anyone was around.

It wasn't long at all before a young man came poking out of a side-door, almost hidden in the black-lacquered hall. Blink-blink went a pair of caramel eyes, since only recently aglow with a liquid warmth of sunshine.

"Oh, hello, sir, welcome to Life Essentials." he greeted Unus politely, stepped out of the room he'd just been in, and with a routine smooth motion of his hand brushed a long dark-teal-furred ear back over his shoulder. With an open smile on his face, he mustered the newcomer for a moment discreetly, with a imperceptible curious headtilt. Hmm, somehow this fella looked a bit lost. He wondered what he was here for. The boss had been busy again the last days, busy setting up preparations for new customers, how exciting. Perhaps this man was ready for it...?

"Did you have an appointment here, mister?" he asked then, apparently not going to introduce himself. After all, he was just the shop's messenger. Timka dealt with customers, he could only try to do the same now that she was busy upstairs for a moment.
"Or are you here to have a look around." That idea seemed to appeal to the youth as well. Yup either way was all fine, be welcome, stranger.

And Misha waited for his answer, ever-smiling.

"Wah!" was about the noise that Unus created, as he had zoned off, looking around, and the sudden jolt back to reality was startling to say the least. His own eyes mimicked the rabbit looking fellow, with a slightly confused blink before he looked around again. Where was he again?

He looked to the paper with his sister's scrawl. Oh yes, this was, as the boy had stated, was Life Essentials, and he did in fact have an appointment.

"I do indeed have an appointment," he said with a slow nod, his eyes starting to wander again, but this time he caught himself before he lost touch with reality.

"I'm Montigue Haris, though most call me Unus," he said, if anything to give his name so the boy could let whoever it was he was supposed to meet with know that he was there.

Goody me, what a distracted fellow. At the man's stare Misha gawked back for a split second, his nose giving the much-characteristic bunny-like wibble. Twitch twitch, AHHH, there we go, yes, an appointment indeed, there we go.

"Oh yes, indeed, mister Haris. We're ready for you, please follow me." he chuckled, and with a light step, almost bouncy, turned and lead him further through the hall, gently coaxing. He didn't seem to mind one bit that he had a plushie tuft sticking out of the bottom of his pants, nor that his ears were long enough to almost cover said bottom. His ear one was marred with a long tan scar, but from the look of it whatever wound that had been had healed a good while ago.

"My name is Misha, by the way. I'm with miss Longway, our receptionist. She should be back here in a short while."
he finally told Unus who he was, perhaps to get him through the first usually awkward moments many people seemed to havein the foreign lobby. For only a second he leaned over the counter, somewhat impolitely diving over until his feet came off the floor, to give the little warning button a tap. Boss, we need you here! xD

"Ah, gitcha." yeehee, found it. With a self-satisfied grin, he flopped back to his feet and took on an nforced loose stance, only made awkward by the fact he kept glancing at Unus. He was just itching to ask the man about why exactly he was here, to talk to him about the possible future of his soon-to-merge little brother, or sister, or both or neither, but the bunny held himself back. It was truly not his business, and he Duke wouldn't be happy if he heard his employées 'servant' had made a complete a** out of himself again.

"It won't be long now."

Unus followed Misha silently, observing the odd traits the boy seemed to have. It was enough to keep him focused on where he was going, and on the inside, he really hoped he wouldn't forget the boy's name.

"Pleasure to meet you Misha," he said, not only to be polite but to force himself to say the name. If he repeated something enough, he had a better chance of remembering it after all. It's the reason he hadn't forgot his siblings names...or his own for that matter. Once embedded into his long term memory, these sort of things stuck. It was the journey from short term to long term that always got a bit fussy.

"Misha?" There, he had another reason to say it. Good. "If I may be so bold to ask, but are you perchance one of these..." his hand began to wave in such a fashion as if he were trying to coax the correct word out, but alas, he just continued to repeat the last word over and over again until he forgot what he was trying to say.

"Blast it! I can't remember the term..." he finally said with a defeated sigh, his head hung in shame.

Geehee, this fellow made the rabbit-boy grin all the way to his ears. How innocent he seemed somehow, not at all threatening. Then again, he knewvery well never to take first impressions for truth.

"Hmm?" he tilted his head again, one soft ear flopping up a little to show he was listening. Oh yes, that question, of course.

"Ah, assuming you were trying to say 'Essentic, yes, I am." he nodded, sounding as abashed as he looked secretly a little proud.
"In the flesh. I'm about three years old now... Might as well give you the formalities." he then chuckled, stood up a bit straighter, and then gracefully, playfully bowed to Unus.

"Misha, Servicer class, Messenger. Influences so far include that of a whole bnch of bunnies and a boy I saw on a street corner." he said then, smiling.
"And one that's my little secret." he added at the end, quietly, treasuring his knowledge with a mellow pride.

"Do you know how it all works yet?"
huh, huh?
Alright, so now he was indeed asking him the ears off his head. Whaaaa-, Unus had started! D:
PostPosted: Tue Mar 30, 2010 1:25 pm

Unus gave a small laugh. This Misha character was a lively one, now wasn't he?

"Essentic, yes, that was the word I was looking for. My apologies. I have, well, memory issues. That's why I'm here upon my sister's request," he explained, hoping that that little tidbit would explain to the boy for his apparent absentmindedness. Or that's what Duo always claimed when he was attempting to remember something.

"By the look of your hat, I guess that the boy was a news carrier of some sort? That is the typical head attire for them anyway..." he mused before getting a better look at the boy. Nope, couldn't think of what the secret one that Misha so coyly mentioned.

At the last question, Unus shrugged and sighed. "I can only remember a few bits about the whole thing..." he said with an embarrassed tone of voice, slightly tapping his head as if he were punishing it.

Ahh, that sure explained it. Wait, yes, he'd overheard Timka mention a fellow like that just the day before, this must be the guy she was talking about, of course! Just as nus seemed to be plummetting back into confusion at times, Misha's face was alight with dawning understanding. He nodded supportively, looking a little pouty as well. Poor man, that must really be a royal pain in the tush. Ah well, but he was here to help him with that, wasn't he now.

He chuckled when he noted his headgear, and nodded again. Yup, guessed correctly. So far it would be extremely tough to guess Misha's last and most recent influence though, it barely showed on him. The true Sun isn't something you can see easily, and Misha arely understood what it was himself, so he didn't think he should mention it.

"Well, you're here to pick up a partner to help you with all that, ne." he smiled, a lot calmer now, warm and soft.
"You'll see, usually it all comes naturally. You can keep our documentation with you, but if my sibling will be supposed to help your memory, you can rely it to remind you of how we work." Misha reassured him gently.
"Once bonded, we are fully reliant, loyal to our owner. Even if we sometimes wished we weren't, but that doesn't occur a lot, I think not." So don't worry. We'll make things easier for you, really.

"Just be nice, I don't like it if people are mean to my brothers and sisters." he added then, with a playful grin. If it had been meant as a threat it at least didn't sound like one at all. Just as he'd said that he turned around, to look at the door where his owner's employer, zee beeg Boss, came walking through.

"Are you intimidating our customers again, Misha?" Banning asked the Essentic, a single eyebrow raised in mild disinterest over the topic. All he got was a somewhat embarrassed chuckle, and a no, no, not at all sir. Then, the stern man shifted the entirety of his attention to Unus, sharp and heavy with that hawkish gaze of his.

"Be welcome. Are you ready?"

That was all he said for now.

Usus smiled gently at Misha. He seemed like a rather nice fellow, and he could only hope that the little thing he received would be just as easy to get along with. His eyes too moved to the door when someone walked in, looking at him with question.

"No, Misha is being very helpful..." Unus offered to the man that was now staring at him with an almost bird-like gaze, and be truthful it was a bit un-nerving. But perhaps this man was business business business and public relations was not his specialty, or maybe he really did think Misha was being a bother and had become perturbed by that whole situation. Who knows. Mind reader Unus was not.

"I am as ready as I'm ever going to be?" was the questioning answer that Banning got back with a shrug.

It was merely a matter of keeping his employees in check. It was his duty to nudge them at the slightest, just as it was theirs to wiggle free again. Hurrah, dynamics.

At Unus' reply Banning gave a calm, somewhat stiff nod, and turned away.
"I will fetch you your Spark now. Misha, if you'd please be so kind to settle our guest?" he said over his shoulder, before purposefully heading towards the secret door, opening it, and slipping into the dark.

Misha then looked at Unus again.
"Well... You heard him, please follow me." he smiled, and took him to the small cosy salon, gesturing for him to sit down graciously. The relative silence lasted only for a good minute or two, and then the Duke returned, in his hands a short cilindrical casing, in pale sandstone, from the look of it still laced with desert dust. On the stèles there were vertical rows of inscriptions, coloured vaguely with what must have once been rich ochres and roal blues.

Banning carefully set it down on the low obsidian table, then strode to the desk, and retrieved a cardboard roll. Sitting down at last, he popped the lid off it, slid out the parchment document it held, and laid out the contract on the table smoothly. With a careful motion he turned it around so Unus could read it, and handed him one of his ornate pens.

"Please take your time to read it. You will find no fine print, no official or legal references. Consider this contract a token of trust between you and me personally. The matter we are dealing with here must be protected, all in good faith." Banning said then, keeping his gold eyes on Unus. "Once you have signed, we can move onto the final step."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:20 pm

Unus followed Misha silently, unsure of how to feel about the whole situation. The salon that he had been brought to made him slightly more at ease; at least they took the extra effort to make the place as comfortable as possible. Unus had to give them kudos for that right there.

As the contract was placed before him, Unus looked at both Misha and Banning before looking to it. He was quite a quick reader, and found very soon that Banning was indeed speaking the truth.

"Of course," Usus commented, twirling the pen in his hand a bit. It was a pretty pen and...wait...what was he doing again? A quick glance back down jostled his memory. Oh yes, the contract... and he read it again because he couldn't quite remember if he had already or not. Once again he found that it was more of a contract of trust more than anything else.

After another full read of the contract, Unus pressed the pen to the parchment and with a few swirling strokes later, 'Montigue 'Unus' Haris' appeared at the appropriate spot near the bottom.

Well done, well done, Unus. Banning had calmly waited for him to finish, not a shred of outward impatience in his behaviour. Now that he had signed, he politely took his pen back, then with a swift motion rolled up the parchment again and put it away safely.

Time for the last act, my man. Eyes fixed on his new customer, the Duke then slid over the Spark's casing towards Unus. Taking the soft-sandstone lid off, he revealed to him what could likely be compared to a small halved melon, drenched in deeply saturated royal blues and gold and reds. From a central rift, a lime green fog issued forth, drifting up in dense, sluggish bubbles.

"This is your Spark, mister Haris. Dormant in it lies the Essentic. The last required step is for you to take it into your hands, en imbue it with its purpose. You will relay to it what you demand from it, what you require. This purpose will define how the tool operates. Take your time, there is no rush."

Go for it. And do it now.
No pressure at all fella. Only Misha practically breathing down your neck in anticipation.

Unus sat amazed at the look of this rock. So many wondrous colors, and the fog that slowly seemed out from it's core was quite astounding. He had never seen anything like this. Or at least he couldn't remember anything like this, and he was pretty sure he'd remember something so astounding, or at least he hoped that he would remember...

Unus shook his head. Too many thoughts. He needed to focus on the task at hand, which was...oh blast, what was it?! He heaved a heavy sigh. There was no way that he could ask...whatever his name was to say it again. It would look bad on his part. In a solem state of mind, he picked up the rock gently in his hands, watching the fog slowly seep out once more.

"I wish you could remind me of what I'm supposed to be doing," he said with a light, embarrassed laugh. "Something other than my sister to remind me of things I have forgotten. That would be nice..."

A chime seemed to sound from the rock itself as the once slow seeping fog poured out of the rock with great gusto. It acted unlike fog as it seemed to guide it's way up to Unus' head, swirling around it as if it were analyzing something. Perhaps the internal capabilities of Unus' mind? Who knew? Certainly not Unus. He wasn't sure if he should scream or cry or what other emotions that would have been appropriate in this sort of situation, so he remained quiet as the fog around him became thicker and thicker until all he could see was green.

Once the green clouds seemed to come to a stand still, Unus shooed away the mess around his face with his hand. Once proper sight had been restored, he saw something...odd...on the coffee table. It looked like the animal form of Anubis, the jackal, only instead of back legs they were...wings?

"Greetings Master Harris" the thing chimed. Were those bells on the end of it's tail. "Shall I store the instructions on Essentic care for your reference?"

Unus couldn't say anything. He just stared.

All three present spectators held their breath and remained perfectly silent as they watched Unus inititate the bonding. Everything seemed to go quite smoothly once he had found his focus again, or maybe not quite. At least the fellow had gotten his message across clearly.
At the sudden clear sound, Banning gave a mildly curious frown, observing what was happening intently. Miss Longway backed away, remembering the last customer they had gotten settled and what the result of that half hour had been. My, would they realy all be this quick to burst? Maybe this was a coincidence, but you could never know...

As the Proto was emerging and solidifying, its Essence taking on a new, definite shape, Misha's wonder grew with each passing second. Clearly sensing it happening, the Essentic felt along, barely brushed his energy along it as if in greeting, getting to know the newly awakened consciousness. By the time the unusually-winged jackal had settled its form and had its first proper interaction with its stunned owner, the shadows in the room had grown quite stark in contrast with the rays of light Misha was giving off in his fascination, aglow like a small shred of a strange sun.

When Timka gave him a nudge, not keeping her eyes off Unus and his new companion but clearly noticing him having turned into a lamp, he dimmed the shine to a more reasonable small excited glimmer on his forehead and belly. Nothing else moved, though Timka eventuall came a little closer and held a hand out a little, as if to pat Unus on the shoulder. It's alright, that's... that's what you came here for. Say hello to it, give it a name, will you.
