=================Introductions ●● ●In this guide, I hope to teach all that are willing to learn the art of posting! Cheesy, I know, but is my general aim of this all.
Here, I will tell you how to work the BBCode gaia has cursed us with to make art!I will answer questions, help out, and critisize any who ask!
Now lets get to business. I see it only fitting I use my own test thread to give examples of my teachings.

======================Pictures ●● ●The first thing anyone will notice about your post is your main picture, which most of the time will be of the character you are portraying.
There are many styles of pictures out there on this big gorilla we call the internet. There is the good old google search and hope you find something, or you can go to image hosting sites, such as photobucket, which is widely used today. I will refer to this website later in this section.
Once you find what your looking for, there are quite a few things you can do...:
•Get the URL of the picture and directly post as is. •Or go to our good friend photobucket and edit it!
Editing is a good way to signify your own style in your post. Personally, I prefer characters in white backgrounds or edit them to fade to white at the borders. I like everything to flow together. I would like to point out there is many other image hosting and photo editing sites out there, but I find photobucket most user friendly. PM me if you get curious for more intricate means of photo editing.

=================Text Effects ●● ●Besides your pictures, a cool text is an excellent way to create a style for yourself! There is a slight tutorial in BBCode here, but I find it relevent.
First off is color. You can get a multitude of colors, which gives a complete and total list that can be found here. This list is so huge, I decided it was too awesome for my puny guide to re-create!
To enter these colors, do something like this...:
your text here!
...And your done!
Once you have your color, you can do many things on gaia alone. these include:
bold (like all of my posts are in.) italics underlining and strike-through
You can also change the size of your text, as my entire guide examples, and you enter like this:
your text here!
Now to get fancy! You can get to other sites like glitter_graphics to pull off things like:
⊥XƎ⊥ ◖ƎSᴚƎᴧƎᴚ (Reversed text) or ƧƆЯΔβℓЄƉ ƬЄχƬ (Scrambled Text)
You can once again use these to form your own styles of posting.

======================Clip Art ●●●
In your posts, you can put small pictures other than your main character picture. You can position these clip arts anywhere you want, which you will learn about in the next lesson on postioning.
There are many places to get these clip arts.Such as photobucket, tinypic, and glitter graphics.
These little buggers are treated like full sized pictures, so use the usual way to imput pictures.

======================Positioning ●● ●Positions of your pictures and various adspects of your posts such as text can greatly affect the look of your style.
Did you know it is possible to put text directly beside your pictures? This all starts with your main picture. This is the most popular way I know that posts are done. You can either put your picture to the right or left. You can do this by doing this:
[img(left or right)](the images URL)[/img(right or left)]
Please pardon the crappy rendition of the BBCoding!
Sometimes you will want the picture, for example, in the bottom corner of the posting space. To do something like this, you would put the picture in a simple

It took me like an hour just to figure it out. I didn't bother with clip art because the picture is anime, and so clip art wouldn't really work. Feedback? I know it's a little bland, but I have no idea what I'm doing. x]

The sizing for the dots broke, they might not break on the regular forums, but the do in guilds. I think that instead of the lone line, maybe just underlining and right aligning the name might work more universally.

Thanks. The line usually isn't that long. Because the coding broke, it got longer to support all the text.

I'm being a whiner right now but it seems alot to go through just to post something. Now don't get me wrong I've roleplayed with people who do this and man I feel blown outta the water at how lame my posts look compared to theirs. My problem with it is that it seems like it might take quite awhile, compared to just rsponding to the post before it, to decorate it. So I was hoping if you could list a method or two on how to do this fast. I know I'm being impatient but I have a thing against taking forever to respond to a post. Please and thanks.

Copy and pasting from a saved word doc on your computer, or by using a tektek tool bar that can add to a post after to type it up, makes it easy to apply to a post, so a style just has to be made once per RPC.

Also, quoting your previous post in the roleplay you're using the format for. That's what I do, I just have to take out the " Quote: Quote: " before I hit the submit button

http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/test-forum/a-thread-for-alie-valens-me-to-test-posting-formats/t.67626607/
Here are a few of my main post formats and one alternate. I like to use the same general formats for the same characters. Does anyone have suggestions about different things I can do with the name, text wise?

Alie Valens Also, quoting your previous post in the roleplay you're using the format for. That's what I do, I just have to take out the quote bbcode before I hit the submit button A problem that happens with that is accidentally clicking edit and in the process deleting the old post, or when people don't take the quote part out and there are 5 quotes on the post.
