I think it's funny how people will quest for a particular item for the longest time but when they finally get it it only has one pose they actually use or they don't use the item that often but I see them layering a Berry Snug skirt in there in every other outfit. If you quantify it that way the Berry Snug skirt is worth a lot more than that precious item you quested for.

What are some cheap (relatively) items that you use really frequently? Why do you use them?

Some expensive items that you almost never use? How come you don't use it as much as you expected?

One item I use a lot is Laceback Skirt (250g). It matches nicely with Nitmare Scarf and some other items I like a lot and it's very small so I often wear it just to hide the grey underwear (and it in turn will be covered by something else. Short Black and Short White Socks get used a lot as well because I hate a lot of the shoes here and even when you wear some shoes like Gothic Bat Boots you need socks under them or they look funny, your skin shows through.

A little bit more expensive one I use a surprising amount is Drome Egg. I use the wigs a lot (wearing one right now) and I love the staff and the Halberd as well (another weird greyish black that goes with NMS).


Mercury Moon on the other hand- I have owned for months and wanted for even longer... and worn once. It only has four (I think) poses I would ever be at all likely to equip. It looks nice with Silver Laurels, though and I'm not likely to get rid of it just because I like it so much. >.<

I think Egyptian jewelry would be one for almost everybody. Reversible bracelets and Reversible, Oval, Skull, and Heart Shaped hairpins as well.

I never expected when I purchased my first set of Reversible Bracelets that I'd use them all the time or own a set of every color. >.<

Yeah, using the hair of the porridges pretty much means ignoring balance a little bit haha. The clothing I've used with success but not a bunch of times :p

I love this topic. x3 I believe the real value of items doesn't lie in their market price but in how versatile an item is. I know it's all supply/demand... yadda yadda. I hate when I see a versatile item and it's expensive. XD I usually hope for that versatile item to be cheap and stay cheap so everyone can afford it. Once an item is in my inventory, I no longer care about its market value because I'll never sell it.
Heh, it's horrible that I consider the egyptian anklets to be expensive. I really do have to change my definition of "expensive" since people can buy egyptian anklets in one or two games of Booty Grab.

Sooo... hmm... I use lots of cheap items. I don't care if the item is a starter item or costs a couple hundred gold. If it works with my outfit, I use it. (So, I like when items are cheap because that means that I can actually wear the item instead of just staring from afar.)
Several of the cheap items I use all the time are: wool tops, egyptian anklets, decorative daisy, glamrock headbands, most gold shop socks, snug skirts, simple skirts, peasant gloves, 90s gloves, most gold shop gloves, and so on~

There was a time when most of my outfits consisted only of gold shop items (plus the odd MC). That was before EIs. I love small accessory items. I love wigs. I love contacts. I love skins. I love blush. I love nice clothing items.... All that stuff is usually found in EIs. My avatars now usually include a few EIs. The most expensive item that I wear all the time (right now) is the masquerade. My face looks empty without the blush. If I'm not using the blush, I most likely have one of the other poses equipped.

As far as expensive items that were bad buys go:
Bani clips: I lusted over them. Once I finally bought them, I realized I didn't need them. By the time I was able to afford the clips, Gaia had released better angelic blue head items.
Gro-gain: It's just disappointing. I thought the item would give us at least three good wigs. Instead, I got unsightly male boy hair. It just doesn't fit my style, but I won't sell it since I use the furry body hair as shading sometimes.
Case of Pietro: The item is full of body morphing poses. That would be cool if those poses didn't eat up most of my body. I love mixing, matching and layering. I love small accessories that can be used in multiple outfits. Most of the poses aren't small and I can't mix, match or layer very many items with them. Still, it's had a few poses that I do really like. I just wish it had (or will get) more.

While I treasure my demonic anklets, I find that- while I've used them in every avatar since attaining them- I usually place them in their arm position. Considering the anklets were my first splurg item, I had hoped that I'd fall in love with all the poses. Same goes for the Oculus Mythica.

In terms of inexpensive avatar-savers, I love the Human Crowbar. I always feel that my avatar is empty without her holding anything, so the crowbar has tied my outfits together many times. While suspenders and the G-LOL skirt have also saved the day, my Crowbar was a free event item that I love.

I saw you somewhere (THG or TVG maybe?) and I wanted to tell you how nice the purple and teal look was butI didn't want to be weird. >.<

For free event items that I love I'd have to say Freddy Claws. They match the weird greyish black in things like Nitemare Scarf and my favorite jeans and some other key items so I use them a lot. But if I didn't also think they were cool I might not use them. >.<
