Vincent had decided; he needed a job. He needed a way to make money for himself, without stealing it. He needed to be able to buy what he wanted without being pestered about it. He put up an ad around Barton.

Right. That ought to do it, he thought. People all over Gaia knew his parents, maybe they would call and ask to babysit. He was rather good at it, really. With several younger siblings, cousins and the like. He really hoped someone would hire him. He really needed the gold. Or so he thought. It was unfortunate that on this occassion he was supposed to be babysitting his younger brother as well. Maybe that would make it more fun? He decided not to write that on his ad.

"Vinny, you don't need all these signs," Kaleb pointed out. "With all the friends you've got, you could just ask."

Vincent doubted it. Mostly he was asked to babysit relatives; and he was rarely paid for doing so. "Maybe they'll come to our place this time. I'm more comfortable that way," he said in response. "Devin's supposed to come over later. I hope he'll be on best behavior."
