    • The morning sun was barely high enough to break through the branches enough to lift the covering of frost from Pris's territory. She enjoyed the early chill and always came out to walk in the early hours. Pris nibbled a few low hanging berries. They were very crisp in the cold. The green and blue female kept enjoying the brisk air as she rounded a small stand of trees and then headed back on her path.

The first clue she had that something was out of place was a small flash of color. She thought it was a small animal, something quiet and fast, and Pris didn't think about it again until a scent tickled her nose. Her eyes widened and her heart beat raced. Could it be? It was. The adahy's head popped up in alarm.

The di'taki flinched, turned her green body around in the blink of an eye. Her nostrils flared and she flew like a ball of muscle through the bushes. As she landed in clear view of the adahy, Pris was shocked for the second time. As if an adahy in her woods was not enough, the other female had with her a child.

Pris bristled, eyeing the child cowering behind her mother. Snarling, "You are too far, adahy, unless you have an egg to abandon I will show you the way back."

The adahy may have said something, but in her anger Pris could not listen. She saw no egg so she started to move forward again. The adahy shooed her child behind her and as they retreated Pris gave chase, nipping at the child until they were almost out of the deep woods.

Pris at first started to slink to the ground to move backwards away from them. She felt so conflicted, but she quickly realized she couldn't escape herself. She surely wouldn't flee. Sure, she immediately felt like this two bit no good mother who seemed so comfortable with her child who was alive and breathing. Oh sure... Well, Pris just couldn't walk away and not say anything.

Now, Pris could have just made a brief sarcastic comment and be on her way. However, even without a child, she might be prone to the occassional malicious slight against another female. Now, this one had the gall to not only be in her territory. That mother brought her offspring with her? Was this a joke? Did she seriously desire to feel her face sliced up by Pris's own claws?

Pris then chided herself. It would do no good to leave a physical mark on this stupid stupid female who dared such a brazen offense. No... Then, there would be terrible rumors about herself. Pris wouldn't be able to deny or escape the ridicule and possible outcasting that could follow this. Since a mark would be the same as evidence should someone from that tribe wish to pursue the matter. No...

This all felt like hours had passed while only maybe a moment or two had in all actuality. A dark look passed into her eyes as she then with all her femininity; she pranced on up along side the mother peering at the child. "Oh... What a brave mother you are! To bring your child to this part of the forest. I can't say I would have done the same. Oh, what with all the... evil monsters who eat children." She watched the eyes of the child flicker with fear and the mixed expression of fear and anger towards Pris in the mother's face.

Pris just sneered and grinned mischeviously as she fluffed her feathers out as ostentatiously possible. "Now, you two best be getting on your way, so I don't have to be the one to realize all of your worst fears."

She grinned deeper to herself as the mother then froze and stood protectively in front of the child. Pris lowered her head for a moment before throwing it back with maniacal laughter. Dangerous eyes flickered alongside the laugh.

"Stupid, stupid female... now, get the hell out of my forest... If you're not out of my sight by the time I get to five; that cutie pie of yours might be my dinner tonight."
