The day was quiet and rather warm, the sky completely clear of clouds. The streets of Makko were as busy as a town's that size could be. Apparently a new group of children had recently turned 10 years old and received their first pokémon - what better opportunity to go out incognito and snag some? Sure, a child's first pokémon was never anything great, but in the right hands almost any of them had potential.

And the more pokémon Team Rocket had at their disposal, the better, right? They could always be trained to be stronger and serve their purposes better.

Grunt Yumeno was dressed in casual attire, her hair braided neatly in the back. She wore monochrome camouflage pants and a loose black and grey striped shirt. Her bangs were held off her face by her Grunt cap - without the rest of the uniform it looked like any old grey cap, right? No one ever paid attention to it and Akemi happened to love it. Strolling around at a leisurely pace, she looked about, observing the children battling their pokémon.

Ezekiel strolled throught Makko Town, unaware of the celebration of some kids getting their first pokemon(Had known, he would had taken a different route). The scientist happen to the town by accident after a visit to his younger brother's place, for yet another unsuccessful to try to talk him into joining the rockets. The Rocket scientist walk calmly down the busy streets, followed closely behind by his curious ivysaur, Palmer.

Normally, he would prefer having Palmer in his pokeball when in such towns, however, the ivysaur had just gotten over a really bad cold that had had him pretty much bedridden for the last week. The dark haired man could not think of anything better after such a awful week that to let Palmer walk out of his pokeball to his heart's content.

So, there they were. Ezekiel, don in black jeans, black boots and grey button up shirt, and Palmer, an ivysaur chewing on a tennis ball as he walked after his trainer, they perfectly normal with no trace of belonging to a dark organization....well....almost. Ezekiel's face scars could raise a couple of eyebrows....

By then Akemi had already caught a few kids off guard whilst walking around - she did have very quick fingers, one of her few talents. Poor children probably thought they had dropped their pokéballs and searched for them in vain. She knew it was not a big deal, nor a great achievement to steal a pokémon from a kid, but it still did lift her spirits somewhat and also made her feel like she still had hope when it came to her career in Team Rocket.

Now she just had to keep working on her skills as a Trainer.

Suddenly, a slightly older kid stepped up to her with a smug grin on his face. "You're a Trainer, right? You have pokéballs at your waist, so you can't deny it!" the boy exclaimed. By his looks, Akemi figured he was about 14. The raven-haired girl stretched then, giving the boy the coldest look she could manage. This was a great opportunity to work on her attitude, too!
"So what if I am?" she finally asked, though she knew from the start that the boy was going to challenge her. Silly kids, battling everyone they saw carrying pokémon with them.

The boy immediately sent out his pokémon - a Pikachu. The electric mouse bristled its fur, sparks flying from its cheeks. Apparently just as immature and impatient as its Trainer. Akemi responded by sending out Fushigi, her Ivysaur.

Palmer tilted his head, hearing some noise and he mouthed a perk-up 'ivy!' around the tennis ball he was holding, one of his vines shooting out and curling around Ezekiel's waist to get his attention.

"....?" The mute man looked down to his pokemon, wondering what this was about. He watched as the grass pokemon use another vine to point towards the little challenge between two trainers. Oh right, Palmer rarely got to battle, let alone actually watch one, well, he suppose they could spare a few minutes to watch, after all, and ivysaur was being use, maybe Palmer would pick up on a new strategy. Both trainer and pokemon came closer, but no too close, the ivysaur wiggling with excitement while the scientist looked just barely interested.

Akemi noted they had some audience. Ah, the poor kid was in for a surprise anyway. Not only did Akemi look younger than she was due to her small size - her pokémon were also underevolved compared to their level. This was something she couldn't help, however, as regardless of rigorous training they never reached their final stage of evolution.

The weather was on the girl's side as well - no need for Sunny Day. After her battle against Seth's Typhlosion a while back, she had decided to teach the move to Fushigi as well.

The boy decided to attack first. "Pikachu, Thundershock!" he shouted, and the yellow pokémon shot a jolt of electricity towards the Ivysaur. Due to a difference in level as well as Grass's resistance against Electric type moves, the damage remained minor.

A grin spread on the raven-haired girl's face then, as she commanded her pokémon. "Fushigi. Solarbeam." The Ivysaur's flower bud began to glow from concentrated sunlight, and the Grass pokémon crouched to shoot a beam of light towards the Pikachu. One hit was enough. The yellow mouse fumbled over, fainting as it hit the ground. Its Trainer recalled it, giving Akemi a sour look.

"Well?" the girl asked then, raising an eyebrow. It was a common rule of pokémon battles - the loser had to pay the victor some of the money they were carrying. With another glare, the boy dug some coins from his wallet and smacked them onto the girl's hand before running away. It wasn't much, but would still get her an ice cream cone. Score!

User Image Rosie was a little old to be a new Pokemon trainer, at 16 years, and it had barely been two months since she had started training the only pokemon she had in her party, an elegant Vaporeon.
Contrary to her young master's beginner skills, this Vepreon knew what she was doing, having been trained extensively by a former owner.

The blond haired girl had a smile on her face as she strode through the roads of Makko City, it was such a sweet little place. It had taken her a while to get there! But she had been determined this time!
The ocean breeze felt comfortable, much nicer, much cleaner then the breeze from the city. And it smelled like fresh clean water and salt.
Her pink skirt and large bow played around her hips, where a dark blue, striped and speckled Veproreon trotted next to her. Everything about this Veporeon screamed superior breeding, from the graceful way she strode next to her master, to the eye catching coloring of her body.
Bright yellow eyes stood out from the rest of her coloring, only complemented by a golden chain and feather pierced through her fin.
Her head was held in a dignified manner, eyes straight ahead, until she caught sight of a group of… very young trainers, practicing battles.
Rosie stopped walking when she noticed the others as well, smiling brightly as she watched them, most of them looked to be about ten, maybe a little older.
“They must be new trainers Vahy’n~” she stated, happy for them.

Akemi gave a small smile to the man who'd been watching her battle accompanied by his Ivysaur, before heading towards a small ice cream stand she'd noticed close by, Fushigi in her wake. Time to enjoy her "spoils of war"!

Kids today seemed rather spoiled, really. They carried high-tech gadgets with them on their pokémon journeys, most got plenty of allowance.. it seemed so strange to the Grunt. Although she was rather young herself, technology had advanced at an alarming pace over the past eight years. Akemi had never really had the money to complete her journey, herself. Now she was too old, but at least she had - hopefully at least - found her place.

To her delight the girl was able to buy a cone with two scoops of ice cream - chocolate and vanilla, her regular combination. She enjoyed her treat to her heart's content, digging out her Pokéblock case to pop out an indigo coloured block for Fushigi to enjoy. The Ivysaur had performed well earlier even though it was a little overkill to go all out on a kid like that. Oh well, Akemi would have to learn to be ruthless anyway, if she ever wished to advance in ranks.

Then, from the corner of her eye she spotted a girl in a pink and white outfit, accompanied by the most peculiar looking Vaporeon one would ever set their eyes upon. Such beauties were rare like black pearls.

taking a moment to watch the kids battle, watching what kind of pokemon they had, and what moves they used.
she was still learning about pokemon, and it seemed that they were as well.
she still wasn't sure of all the moves her Veporeon could use.
it wasn't until she spotted a girl sitting down, eating some icecream by the icecream stand, a few other kids were walking over and getting some themselves.
that sounded like a good idea~ after walking so long. she though it would be a good idea to take a break and enjoy the view of the ocean.

she made her way over, smiling at the dark haired girl
"you have a lovely Ivysaur" she said kindly to her as she moved to step up to buy some ice cream. "its bulb is so pretty"

Akemi raised her head to look at the blonde girl, grinning, at the same time squinting her eyes a little because of the bright sunlight. At least the cap helped a little.

"Thank you! Fushigi here is pretty much my pride and joy - she was my first. Is this gorgeous Vaporeon your first pokémon, too?" She asked in a friendly, conversational tone. The blonde seemed only a few years younger - by appearance at least, so wasn't it rather peculiar that she didn't seem to be carrying any other pokémon with her? Deciding it wasn't really her place to ask, Akemi brushed her fringes off her face and waited for the other girl's reply.

Fushigi, who had been sitting on the ground beside the bench, looked at the Vaporeon curiously. The Water pokémon was adorned with various accessories, apparently pure gold - something that the Grunt had noted as well. Maybe the girl came from a rich family?

"Strawberry please" she asked politely to the man who was working at the stand.
Looking over to Akemi once more while she pulled her bag off her shoulder and opened it to pull out a small leather case used to hold cards and money.
"Thank you" she said, truly honored "yes, her name is Vahy'n she's the first pokemon I've ever had." she explained "She used to be my mom's"

Looking back over to the man, instead of handing him cash or coin, she handed him a charge card.
He took it after handing her, her cone, swiped it, and then returned it.
Thanking him politely she moved to walk over to Akemi again “mind if I sit down?” she asked, pointing to the spot next to her.

If there had been doubts about the girl's wealth up until that point, the credit card sealed the deal - she was obviously from a family quite different from Akemi's. The young Rocket tried hard not to stare so she wouldn't come across as rude. The Vaporeon had been what originally caught her attention, and she was trying to weigh in her mind whether it was worth trying to steal. It appeared to be trained - but to what extent, she couldn't tell. And knowing it had belonged to the other girl's mother made Akemi even more unsure. Stealing pokémon from kids was no big deal, they were usually from breeders or from the wild.

Snapping out of her reverie rather abruptly as the other girl spoke again, Akemi smiled once more. "Be my guest", she said. Noting the flavor the girl had chosen, the Grunt chuckled. "I'm guessing you really like the color pink?" she said in an amused, yet somewhat friendly tone, not meaning to offend.

Rosie took a seat when she got the confirmation from the other girl, taking a moment to put her things away properly, then stroking Vahy'n as the Veporeon moves to sit by her feet.
The girl smiled, sitting back up and giggling a little, lifting the ice cream in front of her mouth.
"I sure do, I like allot of colors, but Pink makes me the happiest."
She explained. "Mommy once told me, that when I was born, I had a rose pink aura, so she named me Rosie"
Rosie smiled brightly after introducing herself, licking her icecream lightly.
“You don’t look like you are new to pokemon,” she pointed out, noticing the difference between her and all the new young trainers around.

Vahy’n glanced up at Rosie for a while, before turning her eyes onto the Ivysaur, with a slight inclination of her head.

Akemi chuckled again. This girl sure seemed talkative. Not that she minded, she rarely had company in the base anyway. And as long as she didn't reveal any wrong information her cover wouldn't be blown, either. So it was all good. It didn't hurt to have friends outside the organization, as long as you kept the two sides of your life separate, right?

"A rose pink aura, huh?" she remarked, raising an eyebrow. "Does your mother have psychic abilities then? Not everyone can see people's auras - at least that's what I've been told." She paused then, finishing off the ice cream that had begun to melt, making sure she didn't get her hands dirty with it.
"Mm, yeah. I've had Fushigi for some years now, got her as a Bulbasaur", she said. "Saved her from some crooks, they had stolen her from her original trainer. She decided to stay with me after that." The raven-haired girl stretched a little, enjoying the fair weather. Some of the kids she'd swiped pokémon from earlier were running around looking for their lost pokéballs. Little did they know.. there was a handful of stolen pokémon in the Rocket's backpack, and yet she rested it on the bench beside her in a casual manner. No point in appearing suspicious at this point, was there?
"Ah, my name's Akemi by the way. Nice to meet you, Rosie", she finally said.

Fushigi stretched a little as well before turning to look at Vahy´n. "Yup.. that's what she named me. I've grown pretty fond of it over the years. What's your nickname?" the Ivysaur replied, its jade eyes observing the unusual looking Vaporeon.

“Hum, no, I don’t think so.” She said, tilting her head and looking thoughtful for a moment. “It’s more of a feeling she got, like you know how you just get those feelings from people just by looking at them? My mom was good at telling a lot about a person that way.” She tried to explain, “I hope that makes any sense” she said with another sweet giggle.

“Akemi!” she stated, excited to hear the girls name “Akemi, I like your name, its adorable.” Holding her hand out in a friendly manner to shake the other girl’s
she gave a sudden gasp when she heard the story about saving the pokemon from crooks
“oh no! Crooks stole her? That’s horrible! It’s a good thing you saved her then; do you think she misses her first owner? I bet they miss her…” she did look troubled by this, but after a moment she tilted her head and smiled softly again
“It is wonderful that you two have been partners for so long, I bet you two work great together” she looked down at the Ivysaur.
her tone of a very different accent to it than most Veporeon had, though still quite easy to understand, she had the air of a mature pokemon. she said, with a polite bow of her head.

"Mm. I see. So, just a sensitive person then, I suppose", Akemi said, nodding slightly.
Hearing the other girl call her name adorable, she chuckled embarrassedly, blushing very slightly as she shook Rosie's hand.

"Yeah, where I come from, there's this band of thugs called Team Snagem that capture pokémon from Trainers, even though we're taught that it's not possible, right?", she explained then. "When I got Fushigi, she was in a pretty bad condition. She warmed up to me so fast that either she can't remember her former Trainer or she was mistreated. Either way.. I can't really complain, she's been a great friend." She laughed lightly as she finished, acknowledging Rosie's last remark with a nod and grin. "Well, we've only really started training pretty recently, when we came to Kodo.. But we've made some fast progress, to make up for it at least."

It was obvious that the Vaporeon was older than Fushigi, and the Grass pokémon met the bow with an almost identical one, ending up looking a bit awkward as it wasn't used to such courtesy when dealing with other pokémon. "You used to belong to the girl's mother, huh?" the Ivysaur asked.
