Since becoming a Captain, poor Audrey Collins' life had been one problem after another. Her closest friend within the organization had nearly died, but had come back more closed up than ever with a monstrous appendage and little control over it. She'd been all but exposed to her superior and ordered to kill the boy she loved. It didn't make for an enjoyable time, though she'd been trying to make the most of her new position.

When Ursula had decided to mete out teams to the new rank of up-and-coming officers, the bluenette had logically panicked. She could see herself seated with an impossible group that wouldn't follow a single order nor treat her with anything remotely resembling respect. Deference was option, but she at least needed sarcastic respect! When Zinkenite had been assigned, the teen had all but exploded with happiness. Not only was he a friend long before she knew he was Negaverse, he was intelligent! Finally, someone with a brain that wasn't ******** Janice Fitzpatrick with all her strange hangups and goddamn pen clicking!

So when he had suggested a popular local taco joint for the meeting to lure Scheelite, the happy girl had quickly acquiesced. After all, she loved a good taco! So it was with a laden plate of nachos in front of her that Audrey was waiting for her testosterone-laden little underlings to grace her with their presence. A note had been dropped in Wolframite's locker simply telling him a time and a place, signed quickly "Lina". Z had been told to drag Scheelite if he had to seduce the boy to do it.

Hopefully, it didn't take that. Z was as uptight as she was, and she didn't have a month and a half to wait.

Zink entered first... glancing back to see if Schee was really coming before rolling his eyes and making a b line for her.
He gave her a polite nod that almost doubled for a bow just by the way he did it.
"He'll be in, as soon as he finishes opening the glow sticks I gave him... glow sticks and tacos... if he liked girls he'd ask to marry you because I said you sent them."

He glanced at her nachos and then at the counter. "If you want I can order for him... that might save time?"

He hadn't actually said it, but he was more than grateful to -know- Lina, She seemed smart enough, clever, not 'too girly' as the young lady with the plush bunny had struck him as... after all... bunny? Really? Then again he had a sling shot. Who was he to throw stones... no pun intended.

A note in his locker always made him nervous. When he first spotted the piece of crisp paper, he wondered if someone was trying to set him up for a cruel joke or, and he held his breath at this one, someone was sending him love notes. Luckily Tate wasn’t around to tease him, and he quickly snatched the note and read it over. To his relief, it wasn’t a confession of love but a meeting. Knowing no one else that would need him, his mind went straight to the Negaverse. He was being called upon, and since there was no reason stated on the paper to give him a hint as to why, he wondered if he was in trouble. Did they get word of the two youma he killed? Were they disappointed by how slowly he was collecting starseeds? Or maybe the fact he really hadn’t defeated any senshi in battle.

Like a defendant preparing his case before going to court, he tried to think of what he could say. While Lina wasn’t the queen, he felt he had heard her name called during one of the few meetings he had gone too, but it was hard to remember names and faces where you tucked all the way in the back, hidden among the many faces new to the ranks. All he could recall was that the Queen had addressed her, which made her important, and that she had blue hair. This was what he looked for when he entered Bueno Burrito. Looking around, he tried to spot Lina, something that was hard considering everyone was now in their civilian dress. This was also knew to him. Meeting up in the Negaverse outside of uniform. He’d become comfortable separating his two lives from being Ladon in normal dress in the day, and Wolframite in his uniform at night. This really was pressing his two lives together.

Clutching the piece of paper, he spotted long, wavy, blue hair and a boy talking to her, and he slowly approached, not at all sure if he had the right person. Not wanting to just alert the world he was part of one of the “terrorist” groups, he waited for the boy to finish speaking, and politely asked. “Excuse me, but did you leave a note in my locker?” It was a harmless question that, if this girl was just some ordinary person, he could apologize and go off to ask someone else.

If one had told Demetri Wright that they were going to the taco place for a meeting he likely would have ducked out. Meetings were boring, meetings meant more -work-, and in general meetings sucked. It wasn't a meeting with their -Queen- either so it was even MORE of a reason to flee like hell from this little get together.

Luckily, Demy had only heard 'taco' in the sentence and ceased paying attention to anything else until a pack of glowsticks were shoved into his hands. Z had said their team leader sent it to him...but really he didn't care -who- they were from, they were GLOWSTICKS! Clearly this was all that mattered.

Z had a few peaceful moments with the other members of the team before another boy wandered his way over. Of course, the Demy brand of 'wandering' was to run over and CLING to his 'boyfriend' so hard it likely would have sent him flying if it wasn't for Demy's death grip to keep him still.
"Z-man! Sup?"
Any words were mumbled around a glowstick jutting out of the blonde's mouth. Well...at least Lina had snagged herself a rather hyper lieutenant for her team? It had to be good for SOMETHING.

...Right?

"Heeeeey guys!"
Releasing Z (he had to -breathe- after all), Demy turned and gave a little mock salute to Audrey and Ladon. On the outside he seemed excited as could be. On the inside? Well...that was another story. Things like this made him nervous, not that he'd ever admit to it, and really all he wanted to do was get his tacos and ignore everything else going on. The very last thing he wanted to do today was think about the Negaverse...and how he lost control while doing missions for them.

Hail hail the gang was all there and assembled, and almost on time. Audrey was pleased and at the same time mildly surprised on behalf of the glowstick-chewing Scheelite. Meticulously wiping her hands free of bright yellow cheese, she held a hand out to Ladon to shake and scooted over to make room on the booth for whichever boy deemed himself worthy of sitting next to her. "You betcha, that's the locker I was aiming for if you're here. Audrey Collins, nice to meet you." Shooting a sympathetic look at Zac, she smiled again at the other two.

"I know Zac, but I'm afraid we've not been otherwise introduced. I'm the Captain but I'm a bit out of touch with you kids." The grin was wide, as if more separated them in age than a few months at best, and then replaced with a mouthful of nacho. "Get some food, dump it here and we can talk. It's my job to get you up to speed and make sure that you do something other than waste time making cute little faces at the other side of the fence." Man, that was some goddamn irony. She was basically sucking face with the enemy, wasn't she?

Yup. She was.

Zac nodded and glanced at Dem
"I'll order... don't bite that I swear your going to swallow that stuff someday and I bet it's toxic!" He scolded not unlike a parent.
He glanced at Wolfram, made a small 'hmmm...' sound assessing his height with just a spark of smothered irritation. Really there had to be SOMEONE shorter than him in this organization. It would just be more satisfying that way.

"Come on... I can order for him but we'll need two people for tray's I think."

His first impression was that Audrey was very polite, which was always a plus in his book. “I’m Ladon Shepard. It’s nice to meet you too.” If there was one thing he was taught, it was proper introductions, and he lightly took Audrey’s hand to shake it.

This was great! He got the right person, which meant he wouldn’t have to be standing around trying to find out who he was suppose to meet and no doubt making the people on the register wonder what he was up to. Glad that he was now surrounded by teammates, he started to really take them in. To his relief, most of them were as short as he was. Even, and this surprised him, the only boy looked just a tad shorter than he was. Was it even possible? For once in his entire life?! The only tall person around was a rather energetic and VERY friendly boy who was chewing on a glowstick and draping himself over another boy. Ladon wanted to point out that chewing on a glowstick was not healthy, and there was a risk of it exploding in your mouth, but something about the boy’s tremendous amount of energy told Ladon not to. If the kid was leaping around to hug people, he really didn’t want to grab the boy’s attention.

Instead, he was debating actually getting something. From a health-conscious family, eating out was not something he did often, and the food always came off as being shady. Still, it was awkward to be at a table with everyone else eating. Excusing himself, he instead went to the counter and returned with a cup of soda, guessing he could at least go that far, and sat down next to Lina. Next to a Captain! It was almost too much, and he was very excited to know what this was all about now that he knew he wasn’t in trouble. “What things are we getting up to speed on?” He thought he had the Big Three down. Fight senshi, collect starseeds, and not getting shot by the cops.

"I'm noooot going to swallow it man, been there done that. Remember? Eye color?"
Yeah, Demy still liked to pretend the rather bright color of his eyes was from drinking a glowstick. It was a quick and easy way to get some fun reactions out of people.
"Besides I'm not -chewing- on it...it's just there!"
Really he only bit down -just- enough to keep the glowstick in place. Nothing more, as after all he really -didn't- want to swallow the glowstick. Then he wouldn't have anything glowy to look at!

Realizing that Z didn't want his help (which was a total bummer), Demy slid in a seat opposite Audrey. At least when Z returned to the booth he'd have the taller boy trapped in his seat. Otherwise, Demy might have fled when they really got down to business.
"Heeey you!"
It was perhaps with some horror that Ladon would realize the glowstick chewing boy was talking to him.
"I think Z-man wanted you to go help with a tray yeah? He couldn't have meant me, though he totally SHOULD have asked for my help, since he said he could order for me but still need a hand and...man he was totally looking at you when you said that. Better go help! Z-man isn't such a nice guy if you get on his....bad side. Boo!"
Somewhere in that rant Demy had lifted his hands to wiggle his fingers at Ladon in what was -meant- to be an intimidating way. Really, he just looked silly.

Shorty kid told to go with even -shortier- kid (he paused his mental thinking to briefly consider if that was even a word before coming to the conclusion he really didn't care one way or the other), he turned his attention back on the blue haired girl.
"...Captain? Captain of what?"
Nope..he had -no idea- why he was here. Typical Demetri Wright. He figured it was something Negaverse, but had tried to write it off as a simple little get together to know each other. Nothing more.

He hadn’t even noticed he had been spoken too, and when the hyper boy slid in and pointed out that he basically had ignored a request, he felt bad. Well, first he felt startled by the boy's antics, and then he felt bad. “Sorry. I didn’t notice.” He looked up at the dark-haired boy, and slid out of the booth. It must have seemed rude to have asked for help and be ignored, especially considering that this boy was one of his teammates. Not making the best first impression, he gestured to allow Zac to go and he’d follow alongside him. What got him was that the other boy, who’s food they would be carrying, wasn’t going to help. That and why would the other boy be ordering for him when he was right there? It didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but maybe they had a quirky friendship.

While the blonde was already starting to ask questions, Ladon felt resistant to leave, wanting to hear and learn all he could. Still, he was sure he would not miss anything vital until they returned, and so he followed the other boy up to the register. “Are you a Lieutenant, too?” he asked, not sure of the boy’s rank at all. He made sure not to talk to loudly and only asked before they reached the registers. He was often paranoid that someone would hear him and just know. Having never spoken to anyone else about the Negaverse, having a chance to talk to anyone else made him both paranoid and anxious.

((Hope you don't mind that I just responded since they are just heading up to the register. Just pm me if you want me to delete it and follow back in order again, which I'll do once they return back to the table.))

Zac shot landon a -look- that wasn't quiet a dagger, more of a small razor blade at event he word lieutenant.
"Zac Bantock." he said with clipped tones and a glance at Demy, a small approving nod that he'd pointed out to Landon that it had been his help being asked for.

"Theirs no sense in all of us trundling about, so just us. What will you be having." He spoke on a brisk tone of business meetings, polite and clipped but like he was waiting for something to happen without ever saying specifically -what-.

He also had a sort of 'air' about him that spoke of self assurance and like he had no reason to expect that his requests might not be followed.

Zach didn't seem to like him all that much, and he suddenly felt he had been responsible for making the teenager hate him, even if he hadn't meant to. He could only hope that he could try and get back into his favor, and decided that if he just paid attention and remained super polite, he could at least get him to not shoot another one of those looks at him. The sharp glare had made him stiffen, and he quickly looked down and then about to avoid it. Even thought they hadn't been talking for a few seconds and he didn't even know what rank he was, he suddenly felt put in his place and even more of a rookie than he ever had when patrolling.

At the question of food, he felt he had even less of an appetite now that his stomach was twisting tightly. Despite his height, Zac seemed to hold himself higher than he appeared, straight, with confidence and purpose. His words came out in the same straight-to-the-chase, no nonsense, let's get this business to order, tone that seemed strange coming from someone his age. Was this how CEOs to multibillion dollar companies sounded like as teenagers? He could see Zac in a leather chair, turning about to face a city skyline while talking about how to destroy a small company.

"I'm good. I ate before I came here." He lied, thinking he was only here to help carry a tray and nothing more.

Picking slowly at her ever-decreasing supply of nachos, she looked up at the counter and saw the two petite boys eying each other almost warily. Deciding to take things into her own hands, she eyed the as-yet unnamed civilian Scheelite and made up her mind that he was probably not going to be able to do much to diffuse the situation. Sighing dramatically, and looking mournfully at her snack, the Meadowview girl slid out of her seat and went up to the counter and draped an arm around either boy's shoulders.

It was decidedly odd, being the tall one for a change.

"Almost done? So much to do, so very very little time. And I think your glowstick buddy over there is going to finish the plastic coating on that thing soon, so you better stop him. I dunno how to deal with toxic shock, do you Number One?" Audrey watched a little too much Star Trek. Audrey had decided, as soon as her team was assigned, that the somewhat staid Zinkenite would be Riker to her Picard. "That or he's eating my nachos, and then things are going to get real." This was all delivered with a companionable smile, but her eyes and a hand on either boy's shoulder led gravity to the idea that there really was not much time and now wasn't really the place.

Power games could be played out later, right now she just wanted to get this done and over with. They had a mission to complete, and as Linarite, she had so much left to prove.

Number one?
That took him aback, not being a treckie himself he almost thought she meant something else, and then realized with a delighted flash of a satisfied smile that would have done any cheshire cat proud, that he was -her- number one, second in command... he could -so- live with that.

"Almost..." He assured her, "I was just asking Landon what he wanted, he said he'd already eaten...Landon I'm ordering an extra taco in case you decide you'd like one..." he informed the taller boy and with a Nod to Audrey approached the counter at last and placed a rather good sized order of tacos and a bean burrito plus 3 drinks.
He handed the tray of food to Landon first as it was pushed over to them and gathered up the tray the cups had gone on.

"What would you like to Drink." He asked with that same "I'm going to crush a small company to start my day" no nonsense tone.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 26, 2010 11:47 am

He hadn’t expected Audrey to come, and the close contact wasn’t something he invited either. He did like that someone else was here, which took the attention away from him and let Zac talk to someone else. As they talked, he only stood in place, taking note that Audrey and Zinc seemed to already be friends and regardless of what rank he was before, Zinc was now second in command, which meant he was still higher up that Ladon. If Zac wasn’t already intimidating, he was now.

While it was consideration or the fact that Zac wasn’t listening to him at all, he ordered him a tact and then asked what he liked to drink. Feeling ignored, he looked at the tray and then at the boy. “I already bought one.” If Zac had gotten angry at him for not paying attention, then he should have paid attention to him as well. “I’m going to take this back. Why not offer it to the lady?” He suggested, indicting Audrey, and then turned about, leaving the two to talk as he went to the table and set it before where Zac and his friend would sit. If everyone was ready to go straight to business, he guessed he was too. It didn’t seem like this meeting would be an opportunity for team bonding anyways.

Demy had been left alone at the table. Left alone to entertain himself. This...this was dangerous territory. -Very- dangerous territory. Bored Demy's led to things Z would likely never want to talk about again.

Thankfully Demy wasn't left alone -too- long, and he also hadn't noticed Audrey touching Z. This likely would have led to something even worse than a bored Demy.

"Hey!"
He waved a hand, trying to get the attention of the boy who had just returned to the table.
"Sorry for the whole boo thing earlier, Z's not so bad, really! You just gotta get used to the way he is, ya know? He's not really talkative like me, but that's okay because I can't really think like he does. I guess on some kinda level we balance each other out. Neat huh? We're pretty good partners, but this whole team thing sounds like it'll help out a bunch. There's things even Z and I can't handle all that well."

In actuality there were a -lot- of things the two of them couldn't handle. Demy chose not to comment on this.
