"Oh..OH!" -She sobbed quietly. What a mournful time, what a tragedy! She supposed crying over a lost meal was useless.. But her glee had been taken from her so suddenly! She had awoken that evening to find the young lion gone. Not a trace of him had been visible and Eupe had not had the slightest idea as to where he would have gone. In a way, she had imagined him rushing off with that hussy lioness they'd encountered on one of her journies. That.. Ciyari, or whatever her name had been! Alas, however much she loved the convinence of Hodari she knew his company would never have lasted forever. He was a rouge, she had been able to tell by his willingness to travel. The spirit of the vagabond was strong within his body and she knew that sooner or later the spirit would have dragged him far away from her so that she would have never seen him again. That was how things were with most beasts twice her size. She spent time with them and then suddenly they dissapered and never returned. A sigh was emitted and her head nuzzled into the dirt resting between the blades of grass. Thankfully she'd encountered creatures who had been willing to get her away from the jungles that caused her such misery. The grass seemed far more inviting than the jungle had, although it also seemed deprived of rodents that she longed to tangle herself around and squeeze until all breathing ceased. A louder sigh was sent forth as the silver-grey snake began to straighten herself and slither foward through the grasses. Onward, onward... The past had to be put to rest. She had to work harder, get her own meals, shelter herself from anything that might harm her.. She also had to accustom herself to transporting her form from point a to point b--- What was she thinking? Eupe would not be defeated and forced to live the life of a low being! She would not. She would.. She would... Find a new creature! She would find a new beast to aid her throughout her life-span.-

((my appologies... I'd also made a thread and was staring at that one... but this one is better. XD))
Pumbaa had been alone too long. Unbeknownst to the other creature in the same prediciment, he was feeling very lonely. His companion was no longer on his back or resting upon his head like he once did. Pumbaa's tail dragged behind him as he walked, not feeling up to anything any more. What was a lonely warthog to do? Just spend his days growing old and not having anouther to talk to. Oh the agony. The humility. With a sigh of his own, he trodded foreward, hearing anouther sigh not to far away. Turning his head, his eyes wandered over thee silver snake and for once... he felt like talking to another creature that was not a meerkat. "Why you so sad Miss?" He asked, his head turning to look at her. "Why is the lovely lady so sullen?"

(( I apologize for the reply wait. I forgot to post my reply when I typed it up in word yesterday. X.x; -fool- ))
-Like a deer that had just been given the center stage spotlight of a car accident her head snapped. Her beady eye was scrutinizing, scanning, searching until it located to source of distant noise that had suddenly entered her tragic scene that, to her, would have made one of the greatest stories to tell young ones... If she ever had young ones. Straightening herself and coiling she peered at Pumbaa with the saddest eyes she could make, which were fairly crestfallen. Eupe was, as one might say, a drama queen. She excelled in staging things, particularly emotions.- "Oh! A warthog?" -She chimed sadly, attempting to have her voice ring. It was a decent voice, although far from one that would attract attention.- "Dear, you startled me." -A false sniffle was given and her head hung.- "I generally refraim from wailing to strangers, but, dear, thank you for asking. I am called Eupe and come from far away, the jungles. Sullen.. An intresting word. My pupil, so like a son to me, fled one evening and I have not seen him since. He gave me no farewell nor did he provide me with information as to whether or not he would come back." -Another false sniffle, yet all too convincing.- "Children can be so unloving to thier parents, adoptive or not. I raised him from cubhood nearly.. Crude little lion just up and left me. I should not feel so bad, but I miss him. These nights have been all too lonely." -She hung her head lower. A warthog.... Just her luck! When she was down on her luck and in need of a new aid the creature had sprung up.. All Eupe needed to do was act as she always did. If she worked hard enough.. Then perhaps she would recieve a new companion to cater to her whim?-

[/ Pumbaa's beady black eyes showed how emotional this large beast could be. His snout lowered to make his veiw of her better, his tail hanging half limp. "I did not mean to intrude miss. I was just curious to why you were all sad." He sid truthfully, looking down to the snake with a sullen expression. He was attracted to the way she spoke, Timon never spoke like that. Curling his nose, he sat down with a heavy sigh. "Yeah. I had a buddy too. He was a lion as well but now he is a king someplace far away. I come from the jungle too... Where I was left alone by Timon-" He gave a great huff of breath to prevent his own cries. "He was a meerkat and my only friend and.. I'm all alone!" He said with a sob.

-For a brief moment her eyes seemed glimmer with a devilish shine. The twinkle instantly dissapered when she resumed her act, using as much skill as she had before, though.- " A king, you say?" -She spoke quietly.- "And a merekat? Oh, you poor dear.. Merekats can be so..... Sneaky.. They're difficult to trust at times." -Eupe lowered her own head a little more and began to slither along the ground so to advance on the becoming crestfallen warthog. She paused herself a good few inches from Pumbaa before straightening herself up a little.- "I knew a merekat once. I helped him get his food for the longest of time and he up and left.. Just like my dear lion friend." -Slowly the silver-grey snake began to coil herself. Her head was carefully set on the ground.- "It sounds as if the two of us have similar issues. Our friends and loved ones depart." -A grin was given, holding a slight bit of slyness.- "But you be strong. You have oh so much to look foward to! My, my. Just look at you, a handsome young warthog! You'll find new friends, certainly.." -A breath was taken in before the snake began to uncoil herself. She simply could not remain still.-

Pumbaa nodded his large head, reaching up with a hoof to wipe away a tear that had strayed from his eye. "Yes. He's a king now and I am so proud of him. He was such a little cub when we found him." He said, looking down to her with an obvious look of remorse. "And a Meerkat... he was my only real freind... cause... All the other animals stay away from me... cause I stink!" He said with a collasping breath, his eyes shutting in despare. He looked down at her. "I may be strong but... no one seems to want to be with me for a long time... ever..."

-It was the perfect situation! It was one so similar to that of her dear Hodari. He had been alone and angry, unable to fend for himself and in need of guidance and companionship. That had made Hodari the easy target.. But, dare she think it, the warthog seemed to be an even easier target. Eupe gracefully began to move herself closer to one of Pumbaa's front legs so to wrap herself about it.- "Don't put yourself down! You smell perfectly fine." -She paused in speech, thinking, planning, plotting..- "My dear, dear boy. What is you name? I am called Eupe."

"It's alright. I get it all the time." -A coy smile planted itself upon her head.- "But it is a common misconseption. We snakes are not so cruel. We simply.. Get a little cranky when bigger animals put us down." -She chimed.- "And the pleasure is all mine, Pumbaa. I have yet to encounter a creature such as yourself. I've seen warthogs, but I've never... Hnn.. Had the oppertunity to speak with one." -Eupe's smile began to fade away. Her dark eyes were planted upon the rouge, scrutinizing him. Once more her mind had begun it's plotting. She enjoyed being subtle, enjoyed not being completly straight foward.- " You say you're on your own now? What of your family?"

Pumbaa sighed. "Well. My mother was fat and my father was fat. They were so beautiful together. So happy nd free. Well. They had me and... I was so cute when I was little. So small. I got biger and bigger till... one day... my parents kicked me out of the territory." He closed his eyes like he was reminessing about his past. "I was a simple pig, out on his own. Then I found Timon. He was my meerkat friend I mentioned. well. He left me. So Now... I am alone." He hung his head. "and now I walk alone again."
