His dark hooves found purchase on sturdy mountain stones as Promethius climbed the lonely mountains that had come to be so familiar to him. The wind whipped his unruly mane about, but his golden eyes looked on firm.
It had been some number of moons since he'd taken residence in this solitary place. He had sinned horridly, and his self-imposed exile was both meant for him to atone, and protect him from the pain that was sure to come if he showed his horrid face again in society. The stallion since his initial 'awakening' had refused to look at his reflection, and thus was not aware of how, since that horrid day, he'd changed. Scars were, for the most part, healed, and for the most part he just looked rugged and unkempt. The true monster had been what lack of love and acceptance had turned him into.
He was not that monster anymore. Still, it was the fear of pain that kept him from returning. The fear that he would once again be met with the same lack of acceptance and scorn. And so, he traveled these mountains where scarcely even did the eagles soar.

Cult gave a sigh of relief has she landed on another heavy boulder that was sticking out of the side of the mountain she was trying and failing to fly over. Her gray wings flatted back to her sides, Useless now that she was on the ground.
Her sea green eyes scanned the mountain as well has everything below it. These lands were blooming with greens, It was colorful and lush. Perfect for her new home. For many moons had been searching for a new land she could end her nomad ways in. And as long as there was other life and hopefully at least some nice soquili here then there was no doubt that Cult found what she had been searching for.
There was only one thing wrong with the whole thing. Because of where she came in there were quite strong winds roaring off of the side of the mountain. It was the only reason she landed in the first place. Cult would simply have to make her way down the mountain side on foot in till the winds died down.
With a deep breath in Cult jumped down from the boulder she was on now to a pile of mountain stones. To her surprise and glee they were fairly sturdy and held her weight. She didn't stop there and carried on her way slowly down the mountain. Not knowing that she was right in the path of another soquili.

It always seemed to be fairly windy on this side of the mountain. The higher up one went the colder those winds got, till at last it was just rock, snow, and ruins,...maybe a cold-hardy shrub or two. Promethius was making his way back up to that cold home when he noticed the other land. Oh what he'd have given to have been able to pull his cape up over his face!. Instead he kept his head low - hair flopping into his face - as he continued his trek up the mountain.
It would seem though that this other being was intent on coming down. And the same path as he was on no less! He couldn't blame them - it was the easiest way. This would be the first visitor he had received since his self-imposed exile. What were they doing here, he wondered. He know, however, the horror that could take place if he were to ask, so he quickly took to the higher path with was but a careful climb higher. Thankfully there was dirt there in which his hooves could find purchase enough to hoist himself up. It was all a matter of staying out of sight - not an easy task for the abnormally large stallion, but thanks to the foliage, he could try.

Cult whimpered slightly has she tried to glide over one part of the path that to her looked more like a drop off from the angle she saw it at. Only to have some of her feathers ripped right from the skin and being thrown back a few feet. It was a good thing she wasn't a little flutter or Cult was sure she would be thrown right from the mountain!
A frown played on her dark face as she looked around for any other path she could use to get down the mountain, Since the one she was on now was clearly no good anymore.
Her eyes widened at the large shadow in the clear shape of a other soquili. Her heart fluttered with relief. Oh good! Maybe a local could tell her how to get off this blasted mountain!
Cult made her way over to the dark figure trying to hide in the brush. It wasn't easy but with a little help from her torn up wings she pushed herself over the rocks and set her hooves on dirt. A very nice and welcomed change from hard rocks.
She still couldn't see most of the stallion features when she went up to him. But she noticed that he was just as large as her. Something that even most stallions weren't. He wore a very torn up and dirty piece of clothing that went around his neck, Down his back and dragged on the ground next to him. He also had little dark marks all over his body that you could barely see in the low light. All of this stallion was interesting to Cult.
"Um... Sir?" She called out softly. Cult didn't want to scare off the stallion with her strangeness like she had with so many others. A warm smile formed has she stood there waiting for him to answer.

Promethius has been content to walk in the shadow provided by the forest. If nothing else it hid his most garish features in it's darkness. However he had not expected to have been noticed. Even if he had been, he figured no one would approach him based on his size alone. but then came a voice from behind him, and with the swiftness of someone used to every nuance of the surrounding forest, turned to face the source of the sound, keeping his face in the darkness, although his pale yellow eyes caught the light and held it.
A smile. It was a bittersweet gift that Promethius carefully took in. "Yes?" came a voice that sounded very hoarse. Damaged vocal chords had ensured him a voice that would always sound like a painful yet alluring whisper, and there was just the faintest bit of an accent there. His voice conveyed clearly his timidness, and a gentleness, but predominately was composed of weariness.

Her head titled slightly to the side as her dark black ears flicked at the sound of the very hoarse voice. It sounded a bit like sandpaper was being rubbed on his vocal chords every time he spoke. Almost like it was painful for him to even speak. But there was a undertone of gentleness and timidness mixed under that rough sandpaper sound that make her wonder.
Her green eyes looked him over again with interest. Then she realized how rude she was being. "Oh geez! I'm sorry. I'm being rude. I'm Cult." She paused and smiled again before starting back up again. "Um. Well. I don't want to bother you sir. So um... Do you know how to get down the mountain?" She asked glancing over to the side. He could easily say no. Or worse try to hurt her for being on his land. It's happened before. Her black curly tail flicked with nervousness.

"Promethius," he offered his own name in reply. He then eyed her wings. Flying was of no use on this side of the mountain... "If you intend to fly than it would be best to continue to the apex of the mountain, and down the other side a ways. Then you would be sheltered from the wind." he rasped, voice occasionally 'breaking' on certain vowels or sounds.
Promethius was doing his own looking. She was not as small and fragile looking as some he had encountered, but it had been a while. She did not seem afraid, but then again he was doing his best to hide in the darkness. She seemed of a darker shade than he, and free from physical wounds. Her eyes stood in start contrast. He tried to not make it seem as if he were assessing her, but he was truly a curious creature.

Cult nodded when she heard him speak his own name. "Thats a really nice name." She glanced down at her wings when she saw him eying them. "Mmm. Thank you but I don't think I'll be able to fly anytime soon." She replied sadness was laced into her voice. She lifted open one of her wings slightly to prove a point. There were huge gaps of missing feathers torn off in the high winds, And any feathers left on the skin of her wings were badly flared and battered. Needless to say flying was not a option for at least the next few weeks. Something that would heart break this sky born mare. A heavy sigh followed as she folded her wings back into her sides.
Who knows why just then but a beams of light broke through the heavy white clouds, Light filled the mountain side and gulped up the shadows greedily. Even the shadows of the forest wasn't enough anymore to hide both of them in darkness. But it was only a short moment before another cloud blocked the sun from shining through. Even if it was just a short moment Cult could see his face and full body it was just enough.
One of her night black eyebrows raised at the sight of him and her eyes widened a little since she was a little token back at his appearance. Other then that she was pretty unmoved from his looks. True he wouldn't win most handsome award. But the fact that he looked like that really sparked her interest into high gear. Maybe it was because she was being nosy again, Which had gotten her in trouble many times before but Cult wanted to know how he got like that? Why was he like that? "W-W-What happened?" She asked softly.

That sudden light was a damnable thing to Promethius. He immediately tried to shy away from it, but to no avail. He saw the mare's reaction and mistaking it for thinly veiled horror turned and began a hasty trek through the forest, calling back; "You don't want to know," shaking his head.
He knew not what he would do if she pursued, but he knew he could not stand there and see that face wrenched in disgust.

Cult quickly made her way after him. Her thick legs pounded on the ground as she raced to catch up with him. When she was side by side to him Cult slowed down so she wouldn't pass him. "Maybe I do want to know?" With a pause she gently bumped the side of his neck with her nose. "I'm really sorry for reacting like that. I shouldn't have!" And that she was truly. Cult didn't mean to upset him at all!
Her dark ears pinned back to her head as she walked in a pregnant silence next to him. It was killing her. Even if she had barely met this stallion there Cult didn't want to make an enemy already. Plus the last thing she wanted to do was hurt his feelings. It just... Felt like a horrible thing if you ever hurt the stallion next to her. Just something about him.

“You need not burden yourself with the knowledge of my sins,” came the stallion’s swift, heartfelt, reply as he plodded along up the mountain.
Even if she did not shy away from his looks, what chance was there that anyone could not be repulsed at what he had done? He had killed others. Other innocent beings. Promethius felt such deep remorse for his past actions… They were hard for him to deal with - he could only imagine how another would do so.

Cult opened her mouth to say something only to shut it again. She was trying her hardest to figure out what to say. "Everyone sins Promethius a few times in their lives. There is just no stopping it." She paused taking a deep breath in to calm her nerves before continuing. "The most important thing is learning from your mistakes. Knowing that what you did was wrong. And then not doing those same sins again." It was just one of the "Life lessons" that she learned why on her travels. It was the reason she could easily go up to a kalona just as quickly as a unicorn. It maybe very naive of her, And it was the main reason she had been more or less almost killed a few times. But it worked for the most part.
"If I promise on my life not you judge you, No matter whatever you have done in the past. Will you tell me?" She asked with a smile. It seemed like it would be the only way to maybe find out what great big secret this stallion was hiding from the world. So well if that was how it had to be, Thats how it had to be.

"One cannot hear what I have been through and not come to some judgment. It is the nature of the beast." And society is a brutal, brutal beast.
Promethius could not be sure that if he were pushed to it, he would not commit his crimes over again. Rejection warps the psyche, and tears it apart until all morals are but weak suggestions, and ethics are vain whispers. Emotions are a tricky thing to mess with. Sensitive...
"If I tell you," his voice, young but marred finally spoke again as he continued his trek, "I will do it on my land." Because there he had a right to be. He would not be chased off as he had from the homes of others.

Cult her only try to keep up and listen in silence when he spoke. It made her wonder just what he had done? True there were some things that sparked a fear in her. Such has another killing foals, Or simply killing for fun. She would watch her back around them and make sure her own life was not in danger. In less she learned how to feel safe around them. But something told her that no stallion with such gentleness under that rough marred voice could ever kill innocent young ones, Or simply do it for the feeling of others dying under his hooves.
She nodded at him when he stated that he would only be at his home if he told her. She could understand that. From what she had heard from others homes were wonderful things. They made a being feel safe, Like nothing wrong could go wrong in them. She could only go on the word of others since Cult never really had a home. All her life she had been a nomad the skies where the closest thing she had to a home. She smiled at him before speaking up. "Alright. If that is where you want to go then please show the way. "
