Hestia had made many trips to the manor since she had been born. She made these trips nearly everyday so she could see her mother and brother. During these trips she had caught glimpses of many different kinds of moonlits. However one she had seen had captured her interest. It was the second main reason she was making this current trip to the manor. She was hoping to catch sight of him once again and perhaps this time speak to him.

((Hope you don't mind me saying that she had seen Hajime before.))

Hajime slipped through the front door and onto the front porch for a little fresh air. It was a nice day out and now that his momma was becoming more lenient with letting him and sister explore, Hajime was taking advantage of a little time to himself. It was quiet for once and when he settled down at the edge of the porch, he took a deep breath of the spring time air and smiled softly to himself as he laid his head on his paws and closed his eyes.

Hestia's fur rippled in a light breeze as she approached the manor. She was coming in from the side and wasn't sure if she should go to the front or back. It was about the same distance either way she went. Hearing the soft slapped of a door shutting she cocked her head. That sounded like it came from the front. Turning in that direction she made her way there slowly.

Turning the corner she spotted a black and blue pup laying on the porch. It was the one she had spotted before and had wanted to speak with. She paused for a moment to gather her courage. It was her first time speaking to a stranger. "H-hello." She said softly taking only a tentative step forward.

Lost in his own thoughts, the small pup didn't even noticed that he was no longer alone until he heard a voice. Opening his eyes, Hajime lifted his head at the tentative voice that addressed him and he turned in the direction of the voice. The pup had to be around his own age but he had never seen her before around the manor or in the nearby area.
"Um...Hi?" He responded with a curious tilt of his head. "Did you need something?"

Hestia nearly squeaked and bounded forward to the male when he spoke to her. She quickly squashed the urge to do so. She shook her head at his question, no she didn't need anything. She was silent for several minutes, long enough that most would just assume that she would leave since she didn't need anything.

"I.... I just wanted to talk to you....." She said softly finally, "I've noticed you before..... and I was wondering why you were alone?" She slowly inched forward as if she didn't want to spook him.

Hajime stared at her when she was silent and his patience was soon beginning to wear thin. He had been polite enough hadn't he? What did she want and why was she staring? Had he something to throw at her, he would have done so but she surprised him from going on a search for a twig when she finally spoke.
You saw me around and wanted to... talk to me? Are you from around here? I've...never seen you before." Hajime tilted his head. She surprised him again with her next question. He hadn't thought anyone paid him enough attention to know that he was alone a lot. He didn't find that weird though.... did she? "I have a big family so I uh... I like being alone. Is that strange?

Hestia giggled at his questions. She nodded to them and took another small step forward. "Yes you.... I do not believe there is anyone else here I could be speaking to." She giggled again and inched forward some more, "I suppose it's near here. My owner lives in a cabin not too far from the manor..... I'm not surprised that you haven't seen me. I don't stick out as much as others do."

Her tail swished behind her and she cocked her head. "A big family? Is it nice to have a big family? I only have a small one. I don't suppose it's strange to like to be alone..... I would think it's quite lonely though. Aren't you lonely being alone like this?"

To her first statement, he snorted and imagined his aunt and her many conversations with the recently deceased.
"You never know..." He said simply, a small smirk appearing though it was short lived as he noticed she was inching closer to him. He sighed. "If you want to come closer, hurry up and do it. You look like a silly old cat doing that."
He pushed himself onto his paws and pondered over her question about having a big family.
"You're lucky. I'm sure everyone remembers your name in your family. Apparently everyone in my family is forgetful except Momma and Anju." He glanced away and flicked his tail. "I guess... sometimes... You're here by yourself. Isn't that lonely?"

Hestia cocked her head at his snort and comment. "Oh?" She said trying to prompt him into explaining further. She was again inching forward but froze when he spoke of it. She squeaked happily and rushed towards him. She was grinning her head off and wagging her tail. Clearly she didn't have to worry about him running off on her..... yet.
"Of course. My papa could never forget my name..... he prides himself on his memory and my mama just isn't the kind to forget her daughter's name. Now if my family was big like Aisling's then perhaps they would forget about my name......" She said sighing happily, "I do so want a big family. I want to have lots of kids..... Like eight. Eight is a good number." She grinned wagging her tail, "Why do they forget your name? And who is Anju?"
Grinning at his question she couldn't help but giggle. "But I'm not by myself. I'm here with you. It's certainly not lonely being here with you. And if I had not met you here I would have met my mama and my brother." It was quite strange that she was speaking so much. But her curiosity had gotten the better of her, not to mention the fact that she had been dying to speak with him.

Hajime shook his head at her, finding her excited response to be amusing. For the time being, he could tolerate her. At least she wasn't like the other puppies around the manor that wanted to pounce and romp and lick....ick! He shuddered at the thought.
"We could be surrounded by ghosts and never know." He nodded towards the forest. "There are tons of ghosts out there."
He listened to prattle on about her family and that her family remembered who she was. She was certainly a lucky one.
"You're lucky and eight kids? You're mad! Crazy.... that's too much noise and chatter and.... wow, that's just a lot." At the question about his sister, he smiled. "Anju's my sister. Older sister I think... I'm not too sure. I haven't seen my brother and sister in weeks- wait, your family doesn't live together?" He found himself saying which he instantly regretted. "Sorry... that was probably really rude to ask..."

If only Hajime knew her better. Then he'd know how much she was fighting the urge to pounce, romp, and lick him. Hearing him say there were ghosts out there made her gasp in excited surprise. "There are ghosts out there?! I don't think my dad thinks they exist but there's the possibility that they do. Can't dismiss it just because you can't see them or feel them or hear them."
She cocked her head at him with a frown. "I'm lucky? Why is that? And what's wrong with wanting eight kids!? I never said I'd be having them all at the same time. I just want eight altogether. I want a nice big family. It would be so nice compared to my current small family." She sighed happily with a distant look.
"Anju is your sister? I'm sure she's pretty! Your fur is really.... handsome so for a girl like your sister she would have pretty fur!" She grinned at him, "It's sad that you haven't seen your siblings in weeks though. Hm? My family? Yes my momma and dad don't live together. They have different owners and don't want to leave them so we live separately but we visit often. And it's no problem asking that. How else are you to learn anything about someone you don't know like me."

Hajime scoffed at her comment that her dad didn't believe in ghosts. Being around Yuurei as long as he had had proved that there were ghosts out there in the forests. It was strange when he found people who thought otherwise. Seeing her reaction however intrigued him.
"Of course. I haven't seen them myself but my aunt; she sees them all the time."He said with a confident nod." And you're lucky because... you have a family that remembers your name and you visit each other."
Thinking of his two other siblings, he wondered how they were doing and well, what their names were. He kept those thoughts to himself however as he especially wasn't about to spill everything to a girl he didn't know. He shook his head to clear his mind of those thoughts and smirked slightly.
"Anju is pretty. She looks a lot like the sky at twilight--" His eyes widened when she called his fur handsome and he had to look at his blue and black fur. It was nothing special to him and he had seen far more beautiful designs of fur."Uh... thanks. Hey, what's your name?"

Hestia wagged her tail quickly. "Oooo I wonder what it's like to see ghosts." She said flashing him a smile, "Well I guess I am lucky." She paused frowning a little. It seemed a little mean that she was so lucky with her family and he wasn't. Maybe what her dad said about life not being fair was true.
"Like the twilight?! I bet she is pretty then! Twilight and dawn are very pretty times of days." She said smiling again, "Oh I'm sorry! I never did give you my name. It's Hestia, like the greek goddess of the hearth. What's you name and you're quite welcome."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2010 12:28 pm

Hajime managed a small smirk at her enthusiasm and shook his head. Puppies he thought to himself even though they were probably around the same age.
"You could ask her... she might be able to help you at least talk to one." He said with a nod. Ever since she had settled down with a mate, Yuurei had become more receptive to visitors.
"Hes-ti-a..." He said slowly, testing out how her name was pronounced. It certainly was different. "Hestia the Greek Goddess of the hearth? I've never heard of that before... " He was going to ask her what exactly a hearth was but pride was certainly stopping him from asking a question she would probably laugh at. Either way, to him, she had an intriguing name even if he knew nothing of Greek Goddesses. When asked his own name, he flicked his tail and began to toy with a small pebble in front of him with his paw. "I'm called Hajime. It's Japanese for begin." He continued to paw at the pebble. He had always thought his name was so plain and common where his sister's name meant "Honor". "It's a sort of tradition apparently to be named, in Japanese, after something that relates to you." He glanced down and sighed. "I have no idea what mine is supposed to mean..."

Hestia's smile grew and her tail wagged even more. "You think so?! I'd like that. It'd be interesting to talk to a ghost..... but I don't know who she is.... and I'm normally not this talkative.... Would you be there with me?"
She nodded when he pronounced it right. "Yep, that's right. I think I like curling up in front of the fireplaces because of it. Makes me feel tied in to my name." She cocked her head when he said his name and it's meaning. "Hm... is that so...." She paused thinking about it, "Well perhaps you're named that because you're going to be part of a lot of beginnings. Or that you're going to start something big, or help start something big."
