Even with the Z-man in the Negaverse now, Scheelite still occasionally did the lone patrol. There were nights his daily sugar intake simply would not allow him to sleep. The nights he snuck out of their dorm room as quietly as he could (Z still needed his sleep afterall), and strolled off into the night to do whatever it was that dark little voice in the corner of his mind asked him to do. Besides, lately any attempts to sleep had been plagued with the worst nightmares Demy could ever remember having. EVER. He didn't feel like battling those demons tonight. No, some nights it was easier to just let himself go, let that little voice take over and lead him through the city. Sometimes it did things, horrible things, but Demy always consoled himself with the fact he just couldn't control it.

Could he?

Of course not! That dark little voice was just like oil (his words, not Demy's). Every shift to his Negaverse gear felt just like being dunked in oil, and oil that tainted him to his very core. It was easy to let his thoughts wander to darker things like this, so very easy.

Sometime during his travels Scheelite heard a group of voices, and after sneaking a bit closer he discovered that the belonged to a group of kids. For a moment he had to stop and think...why were they out this late? Though...was it really late? Sure it was dark but it wasn't the pitch black of the later night at the moment. And now that he thought of it...had Z even been in -bed- when he snuck out? It all seemed so hazy right now. Maybe it was only early evening afterall...

One thing was very clear though. This group of kids would be -quite- an easy target, and he could go home with a few more starseeds to offer his leaders. It was then that the more rational side of Scheelite's brain spoke up, the one that was still very much a kid himself.
"Why attack children?"
The question formed itself in his mind, the 'voice' sounding quite worried.
"S-sure...adults are one thing, but kids? -Kids- ? What...what did they ever do?"
Scheelite simply grinned, shaking his head a bit as another voice joined in to answer.
"Kids are cruel, don't you get it? Kids are not innocent, they're wolves in sheeps clothing. Don't you remember what they've done to you Demetri? Don't you remember how much you were -teased- as a younger kid? How much you're teased even to this day? Some may put on a happy face for you, but deep down..do they really care?"

The more he thought about it, the less everything made sense. That voice whispered on, never shutting up to give him a moment of peace to figure out just where he was. Now that he thought about it, even the surroundings seemed...odd? Everything was blurry, out of focus, and the more he concentrated the harder it became to see anything at all. But one thing was in focus, and that was one of the kids who had turned to eye Scheelite as he slowly stepped from the shadows.

A kid that looked quite like a childhood bully, one whom had done any of the numerous things bullies did. Shoved in the sand, stole his lunch money, the list of crimes went on. The kid was grinning now, grinning and watching as Scheelite's expression slowly changed to one of rage. Mock him will he? Well Scheelite would show him. That grin quickly disappeared once the Nega-agent tackled the kid down. In fact it changed to an expression of horror, screams erupting from the smaller boy as he was held against the pavement by the manic grinning Scheelite. The other children ran for the hills, leaving their 'friend' behind to deal with his fate alone.

"Torture me, will you? Tease me, mock me, treat me as anything less than human? Well now I'm the one with the power, who's laughing now huh?"
Scheelite laughed, that sick sort of laugh that signalled someone who was hanging onto the edge of sanity and just didn't -care- if he let go right now. The kid struggled but could do nothing against the older boy.

"Awhh..shhhh, I'll make this quick, not unlike the torture -you- inflicted on me..."
He dove his hand into the kid's chest, reaching around for his very soul. The kid gave a strangled scream, struggling for his very life.

This was right, this was -justice-. This kid had tormented him when he was younger, and now he was getting revenge. What never registered to Scheelite was this was not that same kid.

In fact this wasn't even a boy. But corruption had made his mind see what it wanted, a person -worthy- of a Scheelite style revenge. This poor young girl was just in the wrong place at the -very- wrong time.

Zinkenite stood quietly, wide eyed in the shadows watching. He knew that Demy... no, sorry... Scheelite went on patrols without him. Sometimes he even left without saying a word, this had been one of those occasions.

He had not anticipated what he found there. He watched from the shadows as Scheelite ripped out the child's star seed. He blinked almost casually reflecting that his inaction made him as guilty perhaps, of ripping out that star seed as Scheelite himself.

He had not 'calculated' well, he'd never really understood why someone like Demy was at Hillworth before. Why someone like him would be selected for the Negaverse. Now he thought that he knew, or at the very least that he had peered into the window of the darkest corners of his soul.

What did anyone want, what did Demy or Scheelite want...

Respect... admiration.

Small wonder that he felt akin to them, that he 'cared' about them in so much as he would admit to care about anyone.

Part of him still disapproved, his lip curled because he had not witnessed any misdeed on the part of the now dead, or as good as dead child. But at the same time he didn't believe in being 'without guilt'. So what if the child were, perhaps similar to himself or to scheelite... picked on and disrespected. If that were the case he may have just been saved from years of 'suffering'... it was as good and palatable a justification as any.

"Scheelite." He said at last stepping just enough into the light to throw sharp highlights on his features.

His tone said he did not approve, he made sure of it regardless of his own half indifference. He wanted scheelite of all others to listen to him...to... "obey" him perhaps. It was thoughts like that that made him wonder if the smooth transition between 'Zac' and 'Zink' were truly as smooth as he would like to believe.

"Children?... " he asked, demanding an explanation for such a target. Though at least it would be -far- easier to cary the body for disposal.

He had promised to make it quick, but he didn't really carry through with that promise. Sure, he could have possibly dragged it on longer than he did, but that poor innocent girl was forced to watch her soul gently coaxed from her body, and even had a glimpse of it before lapsing into unconsciousness, destined to never wake again.

Scheelite was glad. His vision still saw that kid who had tormented him as a child, never seeing the girl who took his bullies place. In fact, she had even been an honor student. Her family would be worried, something Demy could never claim in his own childhood.

The sudden voice of his partner put that cheshire-like grin right back on Scheelite's face as he got to his feet and gave a dramatic little twirl to face the shorter boy.
"Why Zink, I didn't think you'd be joining me tonight. Thought it was sleepytime..."
Was it even late? Christ he still couldn't figure out just what time it was, or really why he had even come out here in the first place..

The tone in his partner's voice wasn't nice though. Once it registered in Scheelite's mind the grin faded away to a frown.
"Children are monsters."
He spat to the side, clearly irritated he even had to explain this.
"I don't really see the difference to our usual targets, do you?..."

Not interested in any reply Zink planned to give, Scheelite turned his focus to the glittering starseed in his hands. Hrm...hadn't Charonite said..?... He had to wonder...

Likely to Z's horror the blonde lifted his prize and gave it a lick. It practically crackled with energy against his lips, and that manic-grin quickly returned.

His eyes narrowed, disapproving. His chin darted up, scowling, peering down his nose of a sort with a sneer of disgust, discomfort that flickered briefly over his features before it was drowned behind the imperial look that he forced to settle into place.

"People..." he pronounced the words with excruciating care as he played through situations likely to follow in his mind.
"Exert far more effort, in my mind, towards finding 'innocents' than they do your average legal or near legal age adult."

He walked over to the small body and nudged it with his foot. He stared at it, he tried to imagine the humanity there, tried to imagine the lifetime of possibilities that might have been ahead of her but the effort failed. Without life, movement and desires, it was no longer human, or not human enough. He frowned more deeply and glanced back at Scheelite, focusing on that small crystal in his hand.

"Monsters or NOT... the ramifications of your action." He shook his head quietly to express his continued disapproval. He could not, it seemed... let Scheelite alone unsupervised. For all he knew the body might have been left behind. He had not yet experimented on if fingerprints remained the same between civilian and Lieutenant forms.
Such a simple headache, he suspected could be a major thorn in the sides of the Negaverse. Guns outclassed swords and smoke pellets any day sad to say.

"You should have waited, you know that." he said as cold as he could, so cold it could have burned.

"You I -hope- have a plan to dispose of -this-" he waved his hand at the small body.

That could have been me... a whisper rose in the back of his mind.
That nearly was me it added an afterthought.

But it wasn't he chided himself. You've put that off... at least for now, at least from him.

The body likely would have been left, or at least pulled into some sort of hiding place until he could come back for it. Afterall, there had been other kids. The plan the dark voice urged on involved tracking them down one by one, adding their starseeds to his collection and the children themselves to his bodycount. Yes...it would have proven to be a rather fun evening.

The appearance of his partner threw that plan out the window. The children lost one friend tonight, but they had been spared. And for now Scheelite was struggling to figure out just who was right in this whole mess.
You should have waited, you know that.
"Waited for what Zink?"
The blonde turned, eying the small body with disgust. The world was still hazy, confusing, and all he could really focus on was his partner and the body of one of his 'tormenters'.
"More torment? More teasing? I'm awesome Z, awesome damnit, why didn't people like me?!"
His hands were balled into fists, threatening to punch anything that came near, to crush the starseed still in his hand.

Zink just...he didn't know. Zink was always right, but it was impossible to be right if you were misinformed. Clearly Zink just didn't know who this was...though the more he thought about it he had to wonder why his childhood bully remained so young while he had aged. It...was kind of odd....

No matter.

"Dig a grave and dump it, just like all the others..."
Acid green eyes turned and focused, or tried to, on Zinkenite. Scheelite looked wild-eyed, confused, maybe even...frightened? He didn't, after all, like his partner to be angry with him, and that tone he was taking was really starting to get to the taller lieutenant.

Zink's lips pressed into a thin line, concern flickered through his eyes as he glanced down at the little girl and back at Scheelite's acidic green eyes.
Scheelite was on the defensive too he thought. Loud, angry denials, not that loud was anything different for Scheelite, but he still thought he was correct.
The question was how best to break this strange shell of denail... or was it good to do at all. He opted to be careful...a gentle push against the strange story unfolding.

"Scheelite... describe to me exactly, what you see here. Do you know this child? Did they pick on you -just- now?"

He spoke very quietly, almost terribly so. The kind of quiet that said everything he wanted to say had been smothered in a thick blanket of emotion that was simply not aloud to be.

"I see the same thing anyone here -could- see Zink, what a weird question..."
Fists trembling slightly at his side, Scheelite strolled closer to the body and looked down at it, lip curling in disgust.
"I see a boy who caused me all kinds of -grief- when I was yonger. A boy who got his kicks out of kicking me around...this was before I met -you-, ya know, before the whole Hillworth mess...it was hell Zink. Hell. But I finally got my revenge, not so useless now am I?"

The girl's body was given a harsher than necessary nudge by Scheelite's boot. He still seemed disgusted, now rambling on about this and that the demons of his past had inflicted on him.

Scheelite was not well.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 21, 2010 7:54 am

There was a -look- on Zink's face, perhaps a little sad, the kind that was always supposed to say 'I am not judging you but I am worried'

"I see..." He said carefully.
"Pick it up..." He said carefully. "Make it look casual... I have an idea of how to dispose of it."

How careful he was to say 'it', he refused to say he. There had to be a way to tone down the risks of this behavior. Of course there was.

"Scheelite... do you trust me?"

He was not well, he was not well at all, and at the request (order..?) he gave his disapproval with a long low snarl.
"Fine, but first things first..."
The fist was unballed, the child's starseed twinkling in the palm of his hand. Scheelite's head tilted to the side, a grin spreading as he watched the glimmering trinket. It was his, all his, and this particular bully would never bother him again.

And with that it was gone, flicked into the air and caught in the lieutenants mouth like an ordinary M&M. Zink would only have a moment's protest before it was broken into fragments of the future and swallowed. Hopes, dreams, possibilities, chewed up and swallowed without a second thought. The rush was incredible. It was like drinking five energy drinks in a row without offering your body a chance to wind down. The jitters had returned, Scheelite unable to contain the raw energy without displaying it in some fashion.

It was addictive.

The body was scooped up, cradled in Scheelite's arms like one might hold a sleeping child. It would seem natural, but to those who knew the truth...
"With my life Zink..."
And this wasn't something he gave up willingly. He was only willing to give his life for -one- other person...
PostPosted: Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:41 am

His eyes flashed wide for a moment in alarm. He went so ridged that he trembled from shoulders to feet as he watched that small glittering thing vanish.

"First... you don't do that again unless you NEED an energy boost. I will -NOT- tolerate you becoming a Yoma on me." He said in as measured tone as he could still manage. His mouth felt dry and he was sure his heart wanted for that moment to beat out of his chest.

with his life...

the words were pleasing, delicious and every bit as addictive as the starseed Scheelite had just swallowed.

with his life...

oh god yes.

A deep breath before he could continue.

"Two: We're taking him out to the redlight district, your going to leave some candy with him, and cut his throat with a bottle for starters...do you see what I'm getting at?"

His eyes flashed brightly, not really eager but excited, enthralled with imagining each carefully planned step.

"So long as they think it's some *****, we'll be less at risk of them finding some other body cash... what do you think?"

He paused eyes darting. "Hmm...we'll need to remove prints too... this, is why Children are SUCH a headache." he declared.

What did he think?

Somewhere inside a voice screamed out in protest. This was not right, this was not right AT ALL. Killing the child was bad. Eating his starseed was bad. But dumping him off and setting it up to look like a *****, really? What the hell was Zink thinking?! This..they shouldn't be wrapped up in this, it was just WRONG. Maybe if they went to the police now...

But that voice was quickly silenced. Demetri Wright's humanity would not be making the decisions today.
"Sounds like a plan Zink."
He was careful to avoid any further comment on the whole consumption of starseeds thing.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 22, 2010 9:04 am

"Glad you think so..." He said with a small and rather wicked smile.

We won't want to get TOO carried away mind you, just make it look like something got interrupted alright?"
He hoped he didn't need to add that last warning, but with Scheelite's behavior god only knew.

Should he worry too for his own safety? He pushed it away, nonsense... Scheelite trusted him with his very life. All was well with the world.

"This way..." He said and found a place they could pull down a fire escape and climb towards the roofs He didn't want to risk just walking, and at least on the roof tops it should in theory be easier to see a senshi coming.

"Whatever you say man, you're better at this whole set up thing than I am."
That and he just didn't really want to think about setting up a 'crime scene' for a child. Something kept screaming it was wrong, but still Scheelite walked on.

Climbing with his hands full however, was going to be a -b***h-. So rather than take the slow route up, Scheelite put all his hard jumping practice to use and vaulted his way up. Jump here, kick off there, and a few more landing spots (mostly to get another kickoff) and then he was there!
"Cmooon Z-man~"
No, he wasn't above tormenting his partner that he could jump up there lickity split.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2010 6:47 pm

"...." he stared after with some irritation, blamed it on 'longer legs' and made his way after with more difficulty than the springy Scheelite.
He wondered if jumping negaversers had in anyway been the inspiration for that old awful 'gummy-bears' cartoon.
"I'm coming I'm coming..." he groused. He hoped that they wouldn't have to be -too- exact. The crime seen enough was going to be disgusting, repulsively necessary.
He was rather counting on people to jump to irrational conclusions.

"You know you can do that too right? But practice is -good- because I totally jumped into a wall a couple of times..."
More than a couple of times in fact. -Plenty- of times...
"and it -hurts- but it's pretty awesome when you get it down! Annnnd then you won't have to use silly old ladders anymore, nifty huh?"

When Zink had joined him on the rooftops, Scheelite took to following after his shorter 'leader'. He wasn't, unfortunately, able to shut himself up. The poor kid was nervous...clearly the best way to fix this was by -talking- right?
