Has almost every RP lately been about superpowers, vampires/werewolfs, animal transfiguration, demons/angels, or other fantasy things like those? I mean, there isn't anything wrong with them, but I just seem to prefer the ones where everyone is human. :/

I don't mind either. To each his/her own, however, I'm working on a historical fiction RP at the moment so everyone in it will definitely have to be human. It's gonna be based mostly around Prohibition Era America. That's all for details I want to give out for now... I might just bring it here one day depending on how things go...

Snowflake- Yeah, like five people join and it's fun at first but then it all just like dies out.
Degen- Cool. =3

Hmm..yes, that seems to be the general trend lately.
Do you count "sci fi" as human when there are humans and robots?

Scythe de Zaran Hmm..yes, that seems to be the general trend lately. Do you count "sci fi" as human when there are humans and robots? Personally, like I said I prefer when everything is human, but for some reason robot people don't exactly irritate me as much as vampires or werewolfs or half-kitty people. As for your last question, I would have to say human-robot is pretty sci-fi. Maybe you guys misunderstood me, I like sci-fi(love it, in most cases) I just don't like too much fantasy involved with it. ;P

Phantasy star?
Personally, I kinda like the idea of a fantastical world/fantasy RP, but it does seem to be getting out of hand.

I never understood the concept of that. It bugs the crap outta me. Bram Stoker would be very upset! Update: Even my laptop hates sparkly vampires seeing as how my firefox crashed soon after making this post! Disapprove, disapprove, DISAPPROVE!

I personally like the escapism . . . but such is me. Obviously that is a dying trend, to each their own.

Hmm... certainly you don't mean escapism in RPs is dying? All, if not most, RPs can be considered escapism no matter how much fantasy or realism is involved. I can just have as much fun in a historical fiction type of RP that takes place in WWII as I can with something that involves dragons and griffins.

Dracula is probably spinning in his coffin right now, if only because its daytime. Sometimes Sci-fi/fantacy can be excellent when done in the right measures. Just seems too hard to find these days though.

Inside joke included too.
Sci fi space frontier stuff like pirates and robots and building a galactic railway! Ok, I'm just being random now XP

Most of the time I find them terrible and very unoriginal. I find them better to be a supportive plot device than a main story line.
