White paws attached to a little brown body wiggled through the thick trees, a pink tongue lolling from the maw of the femme. Sidhiel was wandering again, smells were growing stronger and spring took more of hold of the world around her, with flowers blooming, bird song everywhere and movement of creatures that had long been hiding away while the earth had taken on hibernation through the cold winter months.

Pale eyes with two dark brown drips under them searched out the land ahead, her tiny light tipped tail standing upright and waving through the air. "Strange smells, world anew, searching searching..." she muttered softly in her sing-song voice. Though her father scoffed at her daydreams of flying and playing in the clouds and living underwater, her mother encouraged her and so she kept the daydreams alive.

Just when Sidhiel felt she had wandered far enough from the den a strange scent caught her, and a sound, a pathetic noise she had never heard before and the smell of fear that bit at her nose making her sneeze. "Ohh strange smells and sounds, I must go find it." she growled lowly to herself, unable to resist the curiosity that tugged at her.

A pitiful growl vibrated the young lynx's throat. Through his bad luck he had been separated from his family and now here was was face to face with a snake. Terrified and hunched back against a rock he hissed and swiped as the fierce serpent. It merely hissed back and shot it's head at him. Daeron was unable to turn and climb the rock behind him. Unsure and terrified he merely continued you try and skirt along the edge of the large rock face in order to see if he could find an open to leap around the dangerous snake.

"Go away!" he hissed and mewed again. "I didn't do anything to you!" he whined at the snake only to be jeered at again making his cringe. He could see the venomous fangs of the snake every time it threatened to strike him. Snakes were just stupid creatures, once they were made the only way to often get them to leave you alone was run or kill them. But the snake was about as big as he was and there was little chance his getting away from it before the damned thing bit him and then soon after that it would be the end. He had once and only once seen a snake kill an another, it had been a hare that had unknowingly strayed too close. It hadn't taken long before the hare merely laid down and died.

Fear overtook him again and his called out again, begging, pleading for anyone at all to save him.

Ahead the sight that met Sidhiel's eyes amazed her, the little lynx backed against the rock face by a snake and very upset looking one at that. She had been warned about snakes before and had been told to stay very far away from them. But her mind tugged her in different directions, confused she whined and shuffled her paws for a moment, but as the snake struck at the green-colored lynx, his bright green eyes wide and pleading.

Unable to help herself she began barking furiously and knocked a few small rocks towards the already angry snake. When it turned and hissed at her she backed away more, but never stopped barking. "Leave him alone!" she yelled out crouching low on her front paws. At least now the Lynx could get away, she wasn't backed up against anything and she was sure she could run fast than any ol' snake could slither after her.

"RUN!" she yelped at the lynx, praying that he wasn't frozen with shock by now, or even worse, had already been bitten by the snake. Backing up more at the snake struck at her and missed greatly and growled back and showed her teeth. "Run!" she called again and turned around, dancing on her paws awaiting for the Lynx, she couldn't leave him.

Bright eyes wide at the sight of the pup he was frozen again with fear, wolves weren't to be messed with but it was also the fool wolf who would mess with a lynx. But why was she barking? not until her words truly reached his brain and registered over and over did it occur to him that the pup was helping him, him a lynx.

A peeked glance revealed that the snake had turned on the pup and had moved far enough away from him that he would be able to dart around the snake and run for his dear life. He's already lost his family, he wasn't about to lose his life to a snake. His legs moved without him even thinking as he shot around the snake and passed the pup and bumped his head into her thigh as he went, he was safe, the least he could do for her was get her to run as well. It wouldn't be right for her to put her life on the line for her and he not help her in some way.

Shooting out, unknowingly in the same direction the pup had come from he ran just far enough where he knew the snake would not follow before her tumbled over his own paws, rolling over and over until he came to a stop, panting in the underbrush, shaking with the waning fear and relief. "Thank you..." he panted, "thank you..." was all he could muster as he gasped for breath.

Grinning as she watched the bright green lynx dart around the snake she continued the bark. As his head hit her side she nearly lost her balance but she was pushed slightly off to the side enough for her to start into a turn and take off after the lynx, hearing the angered hiss of the snake behind them. Sticking out her little pink tongue Sidhiel giggled in excitement and triumph as she tried to keep up behind the lynx.

It was near impossible, it was as though the green cat could fly over the ground unlike her with a paw always on the ground as she ran in a steady gallop. Ahead she saw the cat trip over his own paws and take a tumble, rolling over himself again and again finally coming to a stop. In this time Sidhiel was able to catch up the him, once standing over him she danced around on her paws as he breathed his thanks.

"Oh it's alright. I couldn't just leave ya there to get killed by the snake!" she wrinkled her nose in disgust. She had expected him to turn on her and swipe but he hadn't so far yet. In fact he seemed to be okay around her, but she wondered how long it would last. Leaning over she gave him a lick on the head and jumped back a few paw steps to see how he would react. He tasted funny, but that was to no surprise.

Daeron scrunched up his face as he was licked right between his eyes. In fact he didn't know what to do at the lick. t first he sat there still as he could be. Was she tasting him to see if he would be good to eat? Bah, fur never tasted good, so that couldn't be it. Peeking open a green eye at the earthy little femme he raised a brow to her in his curiosity.

"Who are you?" he asked. He'd already thanked her, and she'd stated that she'd meant to help. Might as well know his savior properly. He'd never in his short life so far thought he would converse with a wolf, Lynxes and Wolves didn't exactly get along and here she sat prancing from paw to paw to paw waiting to see his reaction as though it were no big deal. Today was starting to become overwhelming...

He relaxed a big and laid himself out a little, blending in slightly with the fresh green of the bushes surrounding him. A good thing in the case that he needed to run and fast, he would blend in perfectly with the new foliage around in the wake of spring.

Giggling at the strange face the lynx made she wrinkled her nose at him again and bounced around before sitting herself down on her haunches, her little tail wriggling at the fastest speed that it could go. Her front paws still danced on the ground in front of her.

Her head tilted almost completely to the side when he asked who she was. It was true no names had been shared yet, where were her manners?! "Sidhiel is the name and mother and father gave me, it holds great meaning and power for it means peace." she said proudly, puffing out her cream colored chest. Her pale eyes sparkling with the pride that welled in her.

"And who are you?" she asked back lowering her head and leaning in closer to the lynx, eyes wide and transfixed on him in her curiosity. She wondered what sort of name a Lynx would have, would they use names like the wolves did, or did they use strange names in some secret language she wondered as she waited for her answer.

Bright eye wide at the female he relaxed a little as he listened to her. She sure was proud of her name that was for sure. But he was surprised it wasn't something strange, though he was sure some wolves did have odd names, just as he had once heard of some Lynxes with odd names. But, Peace? She was anything but peaceful if anything she was a ball of unending energy by the looks of it. Though he had to admit his own heart was racing still from everything and being in the presence of a wolf pup wasn't exactly the most calming thing in the world.

"I am called Daeron..."
he said simple backing away a few inches from the, stretching out his claws as she pressed her face closer to him. He couldn't tell what was up with this pup, though he knew wolves were highly social things, at least that's what he had been told, Lynx kept to themselves and their immediate families and eventually left each other and that was it. Wolves would often stay with their families and others in large groups and live that way and travel together or mark a territory that was theirs. It was a strange idea but if it worked for them.

He eyed the female, she was certainly just wandering from her family, he could smell the others on her, and she was certainly well fed with the plump belly she had. His own stomach gave a twist at the thought of food. He was tempted to ask her if he could have her bring him some but oh the humiliation it would cause him, unable to hunt yet on his own, living off of bugs.

The pup sneezed a little in laughter at his name, it wasn't so strange after all. In fact is sounded almost similar in orgin as her own name. "Daeeron!" she yipped and bounded to her feet and ran in a circle a few times before sitting herself back down, her tail wriggling excitedly again. "So Daeron, where is your family?" she asked rolling over onto her back, her paws paddling the air as though she were treading water. She had her family just down the path and there den was there and so was her brother and sister and her fathers familiar Surru who she liked she yip and chase after.

She had wondered how Surru and her father had come to stay together, and what it would be like to have another that wasn't a wolf stay by her side all of the time and help her out like she knew Surru did for her father at times. Her sister Ailis longed for a crow like her father, but she didn't. The crow at times scared her, and if she was gonna have a familiar she wanted someone she could actually play with. "You're not alone are you?" she asked her eyes suddenly wide again.

The bottom lid of the Lynxes eye twitched for a moment as he watched the pup. So odd she was, but...strangely entertaining he had to admit to himself. So much energy in her is was as though is seeped from her very being it was almost making him want to bounce around and play as well. But he held himself back from doing so, he wasn't going to go getting too friendly with this Sidhiel just yet. "I don't know..." he admitted and turned his head away from her. He didn't really want to think about in truth. He didn't know if they were looking for him, had forgotten about him or thought him dead by now. But he wasn't he was alive, hungry, but he wasn't exactly to the point of starving that was for sure.

"I'm alone, but I can take care of myself."
he huffed and turned his head back to the pup with his eyes narrowed. He stared at her for a moment until the tell-tale rumble of his stomach pierced the silence. Just what he needed was to be given away like this. Bugs really weren't cutting it for him. He needed real meat in him. He lowered his head to the ground and laid back his ears, squeezing his eye shut in dismay.
