Well... long story short, My good friend plays violin and has inspired me to pursue the violin. there are a variety of problems though: 1. My school has no orchestra 2. Nobody at my school is QUALIFIED to teach orchestra 3. I have no clue how I can get into the youth symphony if im just starting [im 14 years old....] and, well, overall, I just want to learn, so, what should I do? a) forget about it, its not happening B) You cant join an ensemble but you should still try C) theres still hope D=

i started violin at age 12... so you're never too old to learn an instrument. i'd suggest taking private lessons for a little while to get basics or something, or just join an orchestra right away. maybe both even? just practice a lot and have fun with it because its a beautiful instrument. smile hope things work out for you
