Faris made a concentrated effort to not be in the sun at all if she could help it while her mother walked a few feet behind. They had both decided to go to the Curio shop to chat with Kay and Switch as they had done the other day. Faris liked hanging out there it was like being home away from her home that she shared with her Guardian. She also liked talking to Switch and Kay, they were both fun and she considered Switch to be pretty mostly because she had blue hair and her best friend had blue..ish hair so that automatically made Switch awesome. Alas when they got to the Curio's shop front they discovered the closed sign was up and the door was tightly shut, not allowing anyone in. Faris gave a small groan as she tugged at the doorknob ineffectively. Now that she couldn't go in the store she really, really wanted to! She wanted to see why the store was closed and why Switch and Kay weren't there.
Luis clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she stood nearby, "T's hopeless t'try, dearest, we 'ave to come back another time."
"Noooooo~. Nownownow," Faris chanted as she tugged.

Victoria didn't see a lot of daylight as her parents had certain hours that they could not be in- could not stand it to the point it made them sick. It didn't bother her. It was one of those things you don't know what your missing because you've never had it type of deals. However, Aurora Dawn was not limited in any way when it came to time of day or night. She just preferred the night due to the fact that she worked nights. Victoria had practically drug her aunt out of bed and out of the house. She was bored- something that happened frequently. Blame it on the above average intelligence making the average joys seem blah. She was also still in knots over her dad being a girl. It wasn't the fact that she cared if her dad was a girl and didn't want to be... It was the fact that it was kept from her. So, she figured the way to untangle the darn mess was to speak to Switch and Kay... Even though they had only met once she liked Kay. Aurora stopped short of the shop when she saw two others standing at the doors. It was more or less out of caution than anything else. Aurora was super protective of Victoria simply because she didn't want her brother calling her irresponsible. Victoria of course stopped because her aunt did. "What's the matter?" Victoria questioned. "No sense in us all clogging up the doors all at once," Aurora said. It was a lame excuse and she knew it. But, Victoria didn't... The tip of her tail curled and uncurled.

Faris had planted her feet stubbornly against the door while she still held onto the knob and tugged at the very stubborn door. Despite what her mother said or what anyone said she wanted in the store! Luis sighed and shook her head and stared at a new pair as they approached them. It was not unusual for others to want to come to the store so she thought nothing of it for now.
The Gargoyle paused and tilted her head back to stare over at the upside down group with wide green eyes. New people! Yay! She raised her hands to wave at them but fell flat on her back thankfully not crushing her wings, "Oof! s'no goodses! T's closed like a closed thing," Faris said as she moved to sit up and rub at her lower back especially where the base of her wings and tail were. That hurt! It hurt a whole lot!
Luis sighed as she moved to help her daughter up, "Aye, t's like she said. Seems Switch an 'er family are takin' a day off," she said thoughtfully. She could understand that since she often closed down the tavern for a day or so when she needed a rest.

"Closed," Victoria said with a pout. This really stunk. She didn't know what she would do now. It was like the whole day was blown. Well... Maybe not. There was another wanting in that looked about her age.
Victoria looked at Aurora and then back to the girl. Without asking she took a couple steps forward. "I'm Victoria," she said with a curtsy. "If you've nothing better to do would you like to hang out?"
Aurora found it slightly strange that Victoria overlooked the girls accident. She'd normally use that to her advantage somehow. She smiled. The pair seemed friendly enough. She stayed back to let Victoria be her forward self...

Faris gazed at the girl as she moved forward and curtsied. The Gargoyle stood and dusted herself off and tilted her head from side to side she quickly wiped her hand against the fabric of her jeans and stuck her hand out toward Victoria as she beamed proudly, "Hai! I y'am Faris! I y'am pleas'ed to meets you!"
There! Manners! Mama ought to be proud.
Luis sighed a bit as she crossed her arms over her abdomen and watched the pair interact perhaps she could offer them something to eat back at her tavern to make up for the time wasted walking or at least make it seem like the whole trip out was for nothing. She gazed over to Aurora and then down at the children. The Satyress decided to keep quiet first and wait a moment to see how the initial greet-and-meet would go. At least until Faris turned her face toward her expectantly.
The Satyress smiled a bit and shifted her shoulders, "Aye, I am Faris' mother. M'name is Luiseach 'r Luis if ye all prefer." So much for staying silent.

Victoria looked at the hand that was offered. Her first thought was that it was dirty. Her second thought was that it was not very lady like. She chewed on the inside of her lip- where no one would notice. She didn't hesitate to long before offering her own hand... All for the sake of friendship. She smiled, a bit awkwardly. This was different.
After shaking the girls hand she was unsure what to do with her own hand. She could wipe it on her dress and she didn't have anything else to wipe it with. She tried not to sigh or look distraught.
Next she looked from Luis- who had just introduced herself, to Aurora. She waited for her aunt to introduce herself...
"I'm Aurora Dawn, her aunt," Aurora said the moment those eyes were on her. She wasn't about to get anything started by trying to stay out of it. "Nice to meet you," she smiled towards Luis.

Faris didn't seem to note the hesitation nor did she seem to realize something was off about her behavior. As far as the Gargoyle was concerned she did everything exactly right and there was nothing at all wrong with the ongoing scenario. She tucked her hands into the pockets of her torn and grass-stained jeans as she stared cheerfully at the other child next to her, glad that her mother had taken the hint.
"I can call you Vi-vi, hm?" Faris asked her green eyes lit up with a bit of hope. If the curly haired girl agreed it would cement the friendship at least for the Gargoyle who seemed to delight in calling people odd things. "We can hang out aaaaaat th' park?"
Luis nodded a bit, "Pleased t'meet ye," in the end Luis decided to make her offer, "I can cook dinner for ye both at m'tavern. It'd just be us if'n yer both comfortable wi' that idea, after the girls had their fill of their time in the park."

Vi-Vi was certainly different than the usual nickname Tori. But, it was similar enough to her own name that it wasn't to odd, or off beat.
She hadn't been to the park in a while. It would be a nice change. "The park is good," she smiled. Though she agreed she couldn't help but hope that she wasn't going to have to play in the sandbox. She was still very iffy on rolling around and getting dirty.
The tip of Aurora's tail curled and uncurled as she thought the offer over. Victoria wasn't to picky of an eater and neither was she... So they didn't have to worry about offending anyone if something wasn't liked. And, not having to be outside the entire time the girls played and got to know one another was certainly a plus. "Dinner at your tavern after they play sounds good," she smiled. "We appreciate the invite." She never forgot her manors- after all her mother practically had to 'beat' them into her.

Faris was rather happy that Vi-Vi agreed to go to the park and nodded enthusiastically, "Weeeeeee can go on the swingses or somethin' or we can just walk around and tallllkses. I 'unno. What you like to do at the park-place?" Faris asked as she turned and began to lead the way to the nearest park that she knew of, which thankfully wasn't too far from the shop! The Gargoyle wasn't too picky about what they did so long as there was fun to be had or friendships to be made. The stone skinned girl made sure to stay out of the sunlight lest she gets groggy and slow moving. It was thanks to the sun being out that the girl wasn't as hyper as she could have been.
Luis nodded a bit, "That's what we'll do after the park then," she offered with a small smile and when her daughter started to move the Satyress moved to follow suit. She didn't honestly mind the company and she was glad that her daughter was just simply making friends.

Neither walking or swinging involved dirt and getting dirty. So either she could live with. However, swinging seemed like a lot more fun even if slightly more a complicated task. "Swinging sounds good," she grinned. She'd just tuck her dress and hope to heaven that nothing happened. She couldn't begin to imagine the embarrassment if her dress were to fly up mid air...
"It is really nice to have some adult company... I'll admit I'm not to terribly great with this whole kid thing." Aurora grinned nervously. Sure she'd helped in raising and caring for her siblings but that was different because mother was always around if not then near by. She followed suit as well when the kiddies started to head towards the park.

She pumped a fist into the air and cheered, "Yeah! I likeses to jump off of my swing seat and land on the grounds, a lot of the times I hurts myself on ack-see-dent~. That's okay though! Gotta fallses a lot to learn how t'fly!" Faris said confidently as she marched along side her more proper seeming playmate not seeming to care that she was 'mismatched' when compared to 'Vi-vi'. As far as the Gargoyle was concerned she was a friend! "What does Vi-vi like to do though?"
Luis smiled a bit as she nodded, "T's nice indeed. Sometimes t's 'ard to take care o'children. Yer niece seems rather grown up so it cann'ae be too difficult?" The Satyress was able to tell an immediate difference between the girls from maturity to the way to speak. Not that Faris' way of speaking was bad or hard to understand but it seemed more innocent in a way.
It wouldn't take them long to all reach the park and then the playground where Faris quickly moved to claim a seat for herself and Victoria. The Gargoyle held onto the chains of the swings in question and waited with a bit of a wiggle.

Victoria brushed her hand against her backside as she sat down on the swings. Next she tucked her dress, just a bit, under her legs. She was a little surprised at how empty the park seemed today- last she remembered it was a fairly busy place.
She looked over at Faris when questioned about what she liked to do. She paused a moment. She wasn't embarrassed of her likes she just didn't want to be labeled in the long run. "I like reading, practicing with my violin, getting dolled up, and collecting things..." she smiled.
"Flying sounds like a lot of fun. My dad refuses to take me off the ground... I sometimes wonder if it is because he doesn't know how to fly..." she said as she started to swing. Not much just enough so it went back and forth and stayed fairly close to the ground.
"This is about the closest to playing as she gets..." Aurora chuckled. "A little to grown up for her own good most of the time. Her body language and actions are what gets her into trouble... Just the other night her and a girl named Evari snuck down into my place of business- a club. Victoria managed to get them a couple of drinks and they both got plastered..." Her ears flattened for a moment before perking back up. "I'm just glad her dad doesn't know about it."
"Faris ever get into any sort of trouble?" she asked.

She settled into her swing seat without even taking care to see if it was clear of debris now that Victoria was seated on her own swing. Faris carefully draped her tail behind her so she wouldn't sit on it. She listened curiously to the girl with a small tilt of her head, "Collects? What does Vi-vi like to collects?" She queried thoughtfully. Perhaps this would be a good way to get her new friend a gift one day! She liked giving gifts to people.
Faris moved to drape a bit of her tail on her lap and spread her wings a bit behind her for the moment before she tightened them closer to her back. She pursed her lips and shrugged, "I dunn'o howses to fly reallies. Too heavies," she admitted with a small giggle and a light reddish tinge to her cheeks, "I'll prolly never fly with th' birdies." She said with only a little sadness. "Your daddy maybe worried you'd gets hurt?"
Luis moved to seat herself on a nearby bench while she listened to Aurora speak with a small smile, "Faris can get people t'do a lot o' things," she shrugged a bit, "body language is just another word for trouble, I believe." The Satyress laughed cheerfully. She listened and blinked at a familiar name, "Oh? Evari happens t'be Faris' best friend. Hahaha, oh my."
"Faris 'as her moments where she gets inta things or does things she firmly believes is right. Right now her favorite hobby is tryin' t'read th' bad words carved inta th' tables o' m'tavern," she sighed a little exasperatedly.

Victoria thought a moment. She'd never really thought about her likes as far as collecting went. She just collected what looked good to her. "Things that make me look pretty," she finally said. That answer sound good enough in her mind.
"Nothing wrong with being on the ground," Victoria grinned. "Lots of nice things and all right in our reach."
At the response to her dad being worried she nodded in agreement. "He worries about me- sometimes to much," she sighed.
"Small world then that you two both know Evari. Despite that incident I'd still have her over again," Aurora chuckled. "I suppose then that it can be assumed that all kids have their own means of creating trouble."
"In time I'm sure she'll figure out those words one way or another... We can only hope later rather than sooner," Aurora grinned. "I come from a large family... So we all learned a little more than we should have quicker than most..."

Faris seemed thoughtful. Things that make Vi-vi look pretty? There was a little old lady that kept handing her ribbons back at the tavern when she came to visit. The lady seemed to have an obsession with making Faris more lady-like whatever that meant. In fact she carried a bunch in her jean pocket that she got before her and her mother left the tavern and closed it up, "Liiike ribbonses?"
She nodded in agreement, "Truth~!" the Gargoyle chirruped happily, "Vi-vi is smartsmartsmart~."
The Gargoyle smiled a bit and nodded, "It is their job to worry lots! Otherwise they'd get bored!" That was her theory and she was sticking to it.
"I don' think that Evari would let 'erself be unknown by people f'too long. She's a very flashy lass," Luis laughed a bit and shrugged. As long as her daughter was content she wasn't going to question the bonds she forms. "Evari is a walkin' magnet for trouble m'thinks."
Luis laughed lightly, "She'll figure the words out and she'll hear 'em, but still doesn't mean that I want her to use 'em I suppose. She seems t'prefer to use her own ... style of speakin' any'ow."
