Specifically development relating to the roleplay system - for now.We Are Recruiting As promised, the Benevolent Order is now seeeking applicants for a team of skilled roleplayers and game developers to work on expanding and changing the guild roleplay system. The requirements:MUST have experience of roleplaying within the Benevolent Order's official roleplays. MUST be capable of working in a team and open and comfortable to having your ideas picked apart and changed. MUST be dedicated and willing to put in many hours of tedious work in front of a computer screen. ~ A balance of logic, creativity and attention to detail is required for this job.
~ Many days of thought and development, checking and re-checking whether or not things work in the grander scale, perhaps tedious post formatting towards the end of the development - all for little to no tangible reward - must be expected.
~ As in a true development team, no ideas will be put into motion unless they have approval. Anyone expecting to join the team just to see THEIR ideas put into play will be disappointed.
~ A detailed knowledge of the ins and outs of the current system is preferable. The Small Print:
By applying and accepting a position within this team you are obliging yourself to work for no profit for an extended period of time.
By applying and accepting a position within this team you are accepting the authority of the moderators, vice captain and captain to have the final say or dismiss you if your behaviour is deemed unnacceptable.
Unnaceptable behaviour may include unfriendly conduct with teammates, insubordination or refusing to discuss ideas in public where the whole team can see them. The secret message is Panda's p***s.Please see here and the next post down for further information on some of the work you may be tackling. Job Perks:
NONE. Ahahahahaha!
...Only joking! As you may know, we're hoping to expand the guild in the future. However, before it can be possible to open our doors to the world outside of our small group we need to ensure the stability and professional quality of the system - which is the job our volunteers shall be doing. Those who excel and prove themselves may be upgraded to moderator.
Aside from that, though... muahahaha.
For further information and details on how to apply, please scroll down.

Suitability for membership:While most of the qualities required are already outlined above, here is a simple test to help you determine whether or not you're suitable for the position. Sneak Peek at System Development, by Lorika Path LimitationsNow, this has been discussed in a recent poll and the opinions over it were mixed. I suggested initially a 6-path mastery limit, but on reflection I feel that even this may be too much. And of course there's the potential exploit of everyone learning every skill except those of the highest level, or that they never "master" a path and therefore the restriction can't apply to them >3>; hehe, sneaky sneaky Anyway, it raises the issue for me that perhaps the whole measure of power by mastery, and perhaps even the whole path system, is flawed. We need to give this serious consideration. Options we have include limiting by number of skills. I'm sure you guys can come up with other things, though this may in fact provide a good basis for the new "class" concept as described below. If you understood all of that, you may be in the running!

What to expect:
Lorika on developing for the Benevolent Order.~~~~~~~~~
Now, all that stuff up there looks, frankly, pretty damn scary. But I didn't want to lie to you guys about what I personally have found about working a job like this. Sure, I'm doing everything singlehandedly at the moment while this will involve teamwork, but the basic premise is the same - you're working on logistics and mechanics in front of a blinding computer screen for hours upon days upon weeks upon end. It's draining. Probably the worst part is when you think to yourself "Why am I doing this? What am I getting out of this?"...
And truth be told, you aren't getting ANYTHING out of it, aside from the small satisfaction of a tiny group of people. For me, all the positive feedback is usually enough. But I dunno if there's anyone else as weird as me out there. XD
And y'know, sometimes you don't GET positive feedback. Sometimes all that happens is you realise you've overlooked something... or a lot of things. And then it's just... more work. When the system first came out I was being bombarded with PMs from people with questions and criticisms. That's what happens when you put your work out there, and you just need to address it. You can't take it personally when someone tells you the skill names are bad or there aren't enough of them or... whatever else. You just need to realise that you have done your best, and that's all you can do, and there will ALWAYS be someone unhappy with your work so it's just something you need to get accustomed to.
Hopefully the experience will be enriching for you guys. I guess I'm just trying to tell you not to get your hopes up for fame and glory. XD

How to Apply:If you made it through all of that official jargon, came out of the development quote with your head intact and weren't put off by the final message from our founder, GOOD JOB! You're halfway there! ~~~~~~~~~ THE STEPS:1. What we need you to do is take the application form below and fill it out.2. Then we need you to post it in this thread. PLEASE DO NOT PM IT TO EITHER LORIKA OR PANDA.3. Once your application has been read either Panda or Lorika will send you a PM containing a question or two about the system. We haven't planned what we're going to ask yet, but it will be something geared towards judging your suitability for developing the system.4. Reply to the PM.Your application will then be reviewed... Tick, tock, tick, tock...You'll soon after receive a PM notification of whether or not you made it, with the reasons why or why not illustrated. Oh, and please note that there is NO time limit for applications. But obviously, the sooner we can get a team together the better... ~~~~~~~~~ Got it? Good. Scroll down just a teensy bit and you'll find the form. GOOD LUCK!
