The journal is one of average size, but definately not an average look. Made of cork, the front has a sponge-like material underneath the cork to make it poof out a bit; mostly to stick pictures and notes on it. Around the edges on both sides hang many small Tiger's Eye stones attached to short, silver chains; all evenly spaced out. Along the spine of the journal it says "Dear Diary;" but the writing is not made of a simple paint. The words are written in cursive but they are made of Tiger's Eye. Somehow attached to the spine of the book, it is permanently on; it sticks out a couple of milimetres. On the front of the journal, the same writting appears, but this time it simple states "Janet".
Inside, the pages are an off-white colour with light brown lines. A brown ribbon is the bookmark, and the book itself is sealed with a tiny silver lock and key.
