Just beyond the hedgemaze is an opening which leads out to a cliff overlooking the ocean. The ocean itself filters into the lake next to the academy. This cliffside is dangerous and it known to be off-limits to children. Here is where The Golden Altar is rumored to be located, it has never been seen by anyone who isn't an adult. For now, there are only stories of this place, where it is told that life is created here in return for a sacrifice to the gods. However, these may have just been rumors..

Syth was rather excited for this moment. An opportunity to have children, sealing up a lifetime of joy and terrible nightmares with the one she intended on sharing a life with for the rest of her life. Though, as she came up onto the cliff, moving away from the maze that was far more effective at keeping children out than one might imagine.

"This is it then?" Syth spoke to Alice. Looking ahead to see the golden podium. Standing there withered against time. Everything about it seemed set, ready to be used at a moment's notice. Though, looking back, it didn't seem likely that one would be able to find there way here. Heck, it had taken the two of them a few hours of traveling through the maze. Flying didn't exactly help either.

But yet, here it was, a worn down gold podium. Sitting there as if it had existed since the dawn of time itself. Dirt had partially covered the base, but beyond that, everything was a pristine gold. The figure that had been carves, what appeared to be hands ready to hold the candles had no identifying features, aside from one having an extended chest.

Yet, between the two, and down an incline, there seemed to be a smaller, human form. Childlike even, holding a large bowl, ready to collect the wax that would dribble down. This was their fate, and they were ready create their own new life.

"I'll take this side," Syth offered off. Placing her own candle on the supposed male end. Setting it the mixed violet and pink candle, moving to summon her own knife and cut a good locke of hair, before passing it onto the other. Her heart was racing, and she was excited for this. What could she expect honestly?

Alice's heart raced in excitement, she had been waiting for this moment for hours, almost the whole day now. The anticipation had only grew with every turn within the hedge maze, hoping that next turn would show them their destination.

They had finally made it, this was it, the legendary golden altar. It was more beautiful than she had ever imagined. She eyed the golden hands, outstretched as though longing for something to hold. Syth moved over to one side, and Alice's eyes followed the statues figure downward back down to the hands. "I suppose I'll take this side then." she responded, placing her candle into the hand of the supposed female end, a blue and black mixed candle with white flecks settling towards the bottom.

Alice was handed the knife and cut a decent sized lock of hair and placed it in the proper place. She stood back and watched for a second. "Do we need to light the cand-.." she was cut off by a large bang as lightning struck the altar and it seemed to light up for a moment. The candles had then been lit and the wax began to drip down from the hands, collecting with the hair and falling into the bowl. Alice blinked in amazement as she watched this all happen. There was no turning back now, the ritual had already started, and would not stop until it was complete. Not that Alice had wanted it to stop anyhow.

A bright light shined out from the bowl as Alice covered her eyes and winced a little. Light was not something she particularly favored. Once the light died down, Alice opened her eyes to see that the candles, hair, and wax were gone. "Is that.. it?" she asked, unaware of what the next step of the procedure would be. Maybe that had made one of them pregnant, as she thought. Alice was seemingly confused.

Excitement had come. And watching the lightning strike at the podium before her caused her to jump, almost in fear. Holy s**t, all of this was really happening. Coming to light and everything was coming together. Her heart beat rapidly, and before her, the wax had begun to mold into an egg. And soon, it was finished. A rather dark egg, matched with purple and pink hues, with sparkles around it. Syth moved out to pick up the ostrich sized egg. Taking it into her arms and moving towards Alice. A smile on her face as she moved to give her a kiss on the cheek.

"Here it is," Syth responded, rather delighted to have her work finished, "Erm... should we keep this a secret from from your mother?"

Alice saw the egg and smiled softly. She kissed her back and was overjoyed to see everything set in motion. She frowned at the mention of her mother. "Sadly, regardless if we want my mother to know or not, she will eventually find out." she commented, realizing that her mother's reaction would probably be really good or really bad. "What should we do? Should we tell her?" she asked, worried about what would happen if Kae were to discover what they had done. Alice suddenly began to realize all of the dangers in the world that could possibly threaten their egg. This was going to take a whole lot more work than she had first anticipated.

Perhaps, though, Syth kept those kinds of thoughts at bay. She's be able to protect the egg, keep it safe from whatever harm someone else might wish upon them. "Don't worry about it Alice," Syth spoke, slowly headed back to the hedge maze, "We'll... just do what comes naturally. I'm pretty sure we can't screw it up. As long as its kept safe and your brother doesn't find out about it,"

That was really, the most she could hope for... at least for now. Though, after biting her lip, in the end, it came down to one thing, "I think having your mother's help would be nice,"

Alice nodded, agreeing with what Syth had said. "I suppose you're right.." she commented looking at the egg. "I'll go talk to mother, and I'll meet you back at the dorm room. We'll find a way to make this happen. I swear it." she spoke with confidence, kissed Syth on the lips, then parted way with her. Alice had decided to fly to her destination, hopefully making the trip faster.

Just as they had agreed upon, Deskri and Sonnet waited a month before going through with the plan. Deskri had approache her on a day that his anxieties about children were on the lower side, and so they dug through the various piles of information Asu had shoved on them (in a not so subtle way of saying "make me grandchildren") and figured out exactly how to do that.

After wandering through the Hedge Maze and reminiscing on old memories, they came to the cliff side and saw the altar. That was when his anxiety started to get worse, but, he forced himself to remain calm.

"W-well... here we are, huh...?" He gave Sonnet's hand a squeeze and put up a nervous smile.

Sonnet, being an odd one, enjoyed the research. Asu really needed to organize the notes that the prior owners had left behind. It was a mess.

Now, seeing the alter for the first time, she could feel her own heart race if just a bit. She squeezed Deskri's back and smiled at him.

"We still have time to just turn around if you feel like you're not ready," she said with a smile. "I mean, it's not like the alter is going to go anywhere. It looks pretty solid."

The idea of turning around and running as fast as he could sounded good... for a second. But, the shook his head. "No, if I run, I'll never be able to do it." He stepped forward, slowly but surely making way to the alter.

"This thing is hideously gaudy though. Seriously..." He looked it over with a most disapproving stare. "I guess we just put this stuff in it?" He held up his own dark purple candle, and a small baggie with a lock of his hair in it.

Sonnet made sure to stay in step with Deskri, walking beside him all the way to the alter. She looked at it once they were close. The hands seemed like the place to put the candles, and if she recalled correctly, the hair went into the bowl.

"The candle goes in the hands I think. I mean, it looks like it would be a perfect fit," she said as she moved over to one side and placing in her lighter purple candle with small flecks of light gold here and there into the outstretched hands. It fit perfectly.

"The hair goes in the bowl if I remember right..." she mused as she felt around for her own lock of hair on her person before pulling it out. "Ah there it is,"

Deskri placed his in the hands, and then opened his bag and dumped out the hair into the bowl. "Do we like... light the candles or something...?" Admittedly he hadn't paid too much attention to the text. He'd been too busy freaking out.

The answer came out of nowhere, as soon as Sonnet had placed her items where they belonged, lightening shot down from seemingly nowhere. "HOLY MOTHER OF ALL!" Deskri literally jumped backward, tripped over his own feet and hit the ground with a loud thud. "WHAT WAS THAT? I DIDN'T READ ANYTHING ABOUT ******** LIGHTENING COMING OUT OF NOWHERE!"

Sonnet, however, actually READ everything that pertained to the ritual, so she knew the lightning was coming. She couldn't help but shake her head as she watched Deskri reacted to the force of nature.

"Someone lied about reading everything," she said, giving him a disapproving look as she crossed her arms before turning her attention back to the alter as she watched the wax drip slowly towards the bowl, waiting. She then realized that if he didn't read about the lightning, he didn't read about what comes soon after the lightning.

"Close your eyes now," she told him a tone he knew, a 'You better do it now or something bad might happen to you' tone. It was a few seconds after she said this the bright blinding light began to emanate from the bowl.

"S-sorry..." He calmed himself down, noting the tone of her voice and the body language she was using. The instant she told him to close his eyes, he did so, though he could still feel them burning from the light that got through his eyelids.

"H-holy s**t that is bright..." As soon as it died down he pushed himself up to his feet. Inside the bowl rested an egg. Between their combined purples, it faded from Sonnet's to Deskri's dark, almost black purple. Scattered about were golden flecks and bits of black.

He stared at it for a few moments. This part he had read. Even if he hadn't, he knew they'd be getting an egg based on what he heard about when Alice and Syth had children. "Are we really part reptile or something? I mean.... I read the part about the egg but... an egg?"

"Who knows," Sonnet said as she moved over and gently picked up the egg. It was kind of big, but nothing she couldn't handle.

"I mean, it's an egg that was created from wax and hair. For all we know we were made from voodoo magic, and an eye of newt was thrown in the mix somewhere," she joked before moving over to Deskri so he could see the egg up close.

"But all that aside, one day this egg will open, and children, our children, will come out of it." She paused for a moment. "I just hope we don't get too many our first time around. I mean, Alice and Syth got four kids out of one egg. I really think they weren't ready for that many..."
