This is an RP for Grace, Deusdedit, Zuriel and Darius. Do not post if you are not Dragain or Faid Shadowlight, owners of the above usdia(s). However, feel free to read! Thank you! 
Spring was lovely - it was not too hot like summer nor too cold like winter. In fact, it was the only season that promotes life... And to the delight of herself and her new mate, Grace found out one afternoon that she had been carrying around two beautiful children in her womb - two lives that made that afternoon just as beautiful. In fact, despite the heavy spring rain outside making it gloomy and dark, she would forever remember it as (and tell everyone who asked that) it was the perfect spring day afternoon.
It had been a week since that perfect spring afternoon, and the new mother was anxiously waiting for signs of movement or sound. However, to her disappointment, there were none... She knew that newborn foals were kept in baskets for a reason, but she could not help worrying - what if they had died and she did not know? What if she could have saved them? Every one time of the hundred times everyday that she past by the two small baskets propped against the wall of the home, the urge to peek into the baskets would struck her. However, she would turn away every time, knowing that she shouldn't.
It was difficult as she would take turns to go on 'basket duty' with Deus, although she was too excited and anxious to sleep most of the time he was on duty anyway. Instead, after his daily prayer in English for the children, she would sing softly to them in Kawani... It was the longest week of her life.
Even before the children were due, Deusdedit found himself spending hours daily, searching for the perfect sized baskets for his soon-to-be born children. There were lots of regular sized baskets, but none for usdias. Therefore, when he stumbled upon two left behind by kind shamans from a village, the stallion spent even more hours dragging each one home carefully. Once, while concentrating on dragging a basket home, he did not notice a trap meant for prey animals set up by two-leggers and almost got caught in it. However, as luck would have it (or as he would say, as the Lord was looking after him) he just missed stepping in it.
Furthermore, on one of his trips, he found an empty cave for their new family to move into. Although Grace was too heavily pregnant at that time to move and give birth there, Deus had ensured her that it was perfect, with a beautiful lake and several fruit trees nearby.
The afternoon when Grace went into labor, there was nobody around to help her but him - although it was his first time and Grace did most of the work, he witnessed the miracle of life for the very first time. Although it was not a very pleasant sight to behold, as a father, he thought that it was just incredible - how two foals could be inside a mare so small... How this said mare could endure the pain of giving birth and still smile at the end before, still panting heavily, lick away the sticky layer that coated the foals.
All he had to do was transfer the foals into the baskets and carefully put them aside, away from where the rain outside was splashing in, as well as help Grace to a dry place to sleep. However, now that the game of 'wait for the baskets to open' had begun, he found himself lingering around the two motionless baskets more and more. He was unable to sleep, and even when he did, he would dream of his children and his mate... They were the only things on his mind.

The pinker of the two baskets had been quiet, mostly the small foal inside had slept, neither of the voices outside the dark basket had made much sense to him but he had begin to understand some things, though without a reference meanings were lost on him. Noticing that the basket wasn't as dark sometimes, not knowing why this was but he became curious about it. These times he was awake he had trouble staying still, figiting in the smaller space.
Spending days like this, sleeping, then listening and peeking through the tiny holes, not able to see much. Finding himself going still and listening when there was a voice outside, unaware that his stillness was a worry to his parents, but he was listening so he forgot about figiting in the small space.
This particular day though he couldn't stop figiting, he had gotten bigger and the space was still as small as ever. Squirming in an effort to get comfortable his basket was rocking slightly. Though he couldn't find a comfortable position no matter what way he moved. Eventually the small basket tipped over with all the figiting going on inside it. The little colt tumbling out, blinking round at the brighter world from where he had stopped. Purple, pink starry and stripy he didn't fully resemble wither of his parents, though he had hints of both. Scrambling to get to his feet after a moment, though this was harder than he thought it would be.

It was warm and cozy inside the basket, and he could hear a comforting voice outside every once in a while. Life was good, and he spent most of his time sleeping the hours away... However, as the days went by, the growing usdia colt found it more and more uncomfortable to remain inside his basket home - he was unable to shift his position, and even stretching his legs was a chore.
At first, all he did was wiggle about, as if it would somehow help him become comfortable again. When it did not work, he wiggled harder, pushing against the bottom of the basket with his feet. As he pushed harder and harder against the lid of the basket, hoping that it'll magically expand, what happened next cause him to squeal in surprise - the lid popped off, and he found himself pushing against the air. Frightened, he closed his eyes and curled up, only to have something bump against his basket a second later, sending him tumbling out. Still, he closed his eyes, too shocked and confused to want to open them.
It was a cooling spring morning and while she stayed back to look after the two baskets, Deus was out gathering breakfast as well as to clean out the cave that was to be their new home. She trotted around the room, feeling rather bored yet knowing that the baskets could open any moment as it had already been a week. She didn't have to wait long, however, as out of the corner of her eye, Grace saw one basket move.
"My babies!" Grace whispered, her eyes widening; then, the other basket moved too, as if the two foals plotted to arrive together. As she knew how important it was for the foals inside to get out by themselves, Grace decided to stand back and wait against all the maternal instincts in her body... And it finally paid off as the basket that resembled her more toppled over, knocking over the one that resembled Deus more after it too, had its lid knocked off.
"Welcome to the world," Her voice was soft and gentle as she licked the one who came out first on his head, a smile on her lips; she felt so fiercely protective and proud of both foals... As expected, they were a beautiful combination of Deus and herself. Her smile widened as she lightly shoved him on the rump to help him on his feet.
Turning her attention to the other foal, she chuckled at how frightened he seemed to be before nudging him on his head, "It's alright... Open your eyes! The world is a beautiful place." She knew that he probably would not understand her words, but she felt that her voice might comfort them... After all, with any luck, they would have heard her voice countless times already.
Oh! How she wished Deus was back from his trip right now!

Finding himself licked and nudged on the rear he staggered forwards more confused. Vision still clearing, the basket having been dark compared to the spring sunshine streaming in the entrance. Finding himself staggering sideways before sitting down with a bump on his behind. Looking round as his eyes adjust, finally his eyes settle on the pink mare that had nudged and licked him, tilting his head he looks at her, the colour of her pelt familiar.
Working on getting to his feet again, still staggering but he had managed to stand up more easily this time. Staggering over to the larger mare, her scent familiar and comforting, even though he didn't properly recognise her yet with his eyes, he somehow knew the connection they had. Wandering over to her, though he was unsteady on his little hooves. Nuzzling against her leg with his eyes closed, happy and content for the moment.

The colt allowed a whinny to escape his lips; the world outside his basket is scary! First, something forced him out of his basket, the he felt something touch him on his head! However, he soon realized that being outside felt right. At the thought, he felt a little braver and opened his eyes for the first time since he was out of the basket. However, he quickly closed them again; it was too bright!
However, he soon opened them again, blinking at the brightness and trying to adjust to it. Spotting two moving objects nearby, instinct kicked in and he stood up, wobbling as he stumbled forward, unable to control his own legs. Then, he fell, face first, right into the ground beside the larger moving object. Confused, he climbed onto his feet again, looking up at the object - she smells so nice and comforting... And then, drawn to her, he approached her till his muzzle was in her pelt, and there he stood, feeling rather 'right'.
"Oh dear!" The female smiled as she nuzzled the little one stumped against her leg; something so small and vulnerable... It made her feel the need to be protective and big all of a sudden! Perhaps this was what they refer to as 'a mother's instincts'? She giggled softly at the thought and licked the colt, humming happily. As she did, she felt something bump against her other side and to her surprise, it was the frightened little colt who refused to move a moment ago! Her smile widened as she nuzzled him too; how she wished Deus was here! He would be as delighted as she was!
"Your father will be back soon, children," She whispered, moving backwards slowly so that both colts were at her front. Then, she gently nuzzled each of them again, trying to comfort them; it must be a big change... The world inside their baskets must be so different compared to the outside world!
"Am back!" Deus smiled as he trotted through the entrance, feeling rather delighted at what he found for breakfast. In his mouth, he held a small basket filled to the brim with berries and some small red apples he had found littering the forest floor; they might not be the best, but he was sure that from their color, they would be delicious all the same.
However, that loot was almost dropped when he saw the two foals cuddling up with his mate - they were a good mix of both himself and Grace, and the sight of them made him smile with glee. His eyes wandered over to where he had left the baskets; they were opened and both had toppled over. Slowly and quietly, he lowered the fruit basket to the floor before trotting over to his family.
"Hello there," He cooed in Kawani, offering them a warm smile before turning to Grace, "Beautiful..."

The pinker of the two looked up at the other big one that had arrived, walking closer a little unsteady on his hooves to give it a sniff too. There was something familiar about that one too, though it wasn't the voice this time. Sniffing at his fathers leg and trying to work things out. It knew him but at the same time there was no real connection of family there yet. Looking over at the other big one before wandering back over to her, she was more familiar. Nuzzleing back up against her leg, yawning a little, there so much more air out here.
After more nuzzleing he started wandering around this strange place, not sure what was what but he totterd off on his unsteady little hooves. Looking round and sniffing as he goes, just wandering round the small home and exploring. Stumbling occasionally but he either stayed on his feet or landed on his bum and got back up again.

The colt observed what the other smaller usdia did, before proceeding to copy his movements - stumbling at first but gradually trotting along with relatively steady steps, the male moved towards the newest arrival. He gave him a sniff, and realized that this figure smelt familiar too, just like the other one... However, he didn't feel quite as comforted nor secure as when he was with the mare.
With that thought in mind, he allowed a soft whinny to escape his lips before he made his way back to hide between the other bigger usdia's legs. His eyes followed the other colt as he explored the room, but he personally felt contented to just stay where he was...
"Beautiful, indeed!" Grace giggled as she smiled fondly at both her children, pride shining in her eyes - it would seem like the two of them differ in personality, but perhaps it was too soon to tell? Either way, she was sure that she would love them both the same! She smiled as she nuzzled the colts hiding between her legs gently on their heads, making sure not to startle them.
She giggled as one colt took off to explore, her eyes following his every movement. Then, she turned her attention back to Deus, "Time to name them..." She had always intended to let him name them because he seemed like he wanted to, although he didn't say it out... She was just contented to be his mate and the mother of his children, current and future. Being a mother in itself was a gift!
Deus froze when his sons approached him; he was so new to being a father! What was he supposed to do? Grace seems to be such a natural at it... He swallowed a lump that had been forming in his throat as they sniffed him, and promptly left for Grace again. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding before blinking at Grace, a smile pulling at the ends of his lips; she knew?
Even before they emerged from their baskets, he already knew that they would both be male - it came to him in a dream... Together with their names.
"Darius," He gestured towards the colt who was already exploring his surroundings before trotting over, smiling as he did; he was sure that Darius was the older one. He nudged the colt gently, unsure of how to show his affection. Then, turning to the other colt, he nodded, "And Zuriel... Our sons." he looked at Grace, grinning happily.

Darius looked up, having staggered and landed on his rump from the small nudge. Giving a small whinny as he got back up, staggering a little as he tried to nudge the male back though it came as more of a headbutt because of the stumble. But he would get more sure on his feet. Shaking his head before looking up again, his little tail wiggleing happily. He was going to like it out here, he had that feeling, though he needed to know more about this place. Wandering round his fathers legs and pushing through his long tail, making a happy noise.
Looking over at his mother and brother, clearly smiling as his little tail wiggled. Wandering around again, going back to exploring. Heading in the general direction of the door with his wandering.

He shuffled his hoofs nervously when he saw the larger male gesture to him, but blinked when he seemed to address him; the noise coming from him felt familiar and warm... And he finds comfort in it. He then turned him attention to the other foal, catching his smile. Almost involuntarily, Zuriel smiled along with him; when he caught himself, he immediately decided that he likes this other colt and then proceeded to bumble after him, at first uncertain, but soon, his steps became steady.
He soon caught up, bumping into the colt since he was unable to stop in time; however, after regaining his composure, Zuriel walked alongside him as they walked towards the big, bright hole the stallion had walked in from.
Grace giggled at her sons' behavior, but every time they looked them they were about to fall, her heart would leap out of her chest. Of course, it did not come as a surprise to see her trailing after them as they headed for the entrance (and exit) of their home; when they emerge, they would see a small clearing surrounded by tall trees. If they look behind them, they would realize that they were partially underground, beneath the roots of a giant tree that looked like it had been through more than what they would ever go through. Since it was spring, there are a few small, plain white flowers littering the clearing.
It was quite the sight to behold; they had came in a good season.
Of course, their underground home was now too small for their family; when it was just her, it was a good size and when it was just her and Deus, it was a good fit... But she knew that since the colts would be growing, it would soon be too smal to hold her family.
As Deus looked at his mate, he knew what was in her mind; perhaps it was time to move. They would be able to show the boys the forest as well, on the way to their new home. It was not really that far a walk, and if they do get tired, they could always find temporary shelter and rest there.
He followed his family out, dragging the basket of fruits with him. Once outside, he tipped it over, pouring out all the fruits that he had gathered. Then, making sure that the colts were looking in his direction, he sniffed a blueberry and then proceeded to eat it, before smiling and gesturing for them to come over and try one for themselves; it would be best to start on a journey with a full stomach.

Darius flopped onto the grass of the clearing as soon as he came to it. Rolling round making a happy noise, liking the feel of the grass on his back. Not noticing his father with the food, stretched out happily, looking up at hi brother who had been next to him. He definately liked this brighter more colourful place.
Sitting back up and looking round, seeing the pile of fruit and the large male eating some. Getting up and walking over, sniffing at it before taking a mouthful of something. His tail wiggling again at the sweetness, eating some more, his small nose getting covered in juice. Stepping back and licking at his sticky face, enjoying how it tastes still.

He stood still, observing what his brother did before mimicking him. Slowly, the colt dropped to the grass and proceeded to wiggle on the spot, legs in the air as he tried to push his body to the other side in an attempt to roll around like his brother... It looked fun after all, and the grass feels great on his back! Giving a hard kick, he finally got himself rolling to the other side of his body. He froze, looking rather surprised for a second before giggling happily - he had done it!
However, before he could do it again, the colt saw his brother move away out of the corner of his eye. Scrambling up hurriedly, he trotted after him, digging into the fruits as he did. As the juices exploded in his mouth, the male lets out a squeal of delight as he took another mouthful of fruits; it was delicious! Although the world is still big and rather scary, he was starting to enjoy his time outside of the basket.
Grace beamed uncontrollably as the little ones tucked into the pile of fruits, going 'awww' as the juice trickled down their small faces. Something in her - an urge to protect her children - pushed her towards them, her tail swaying from side to side. It was just like she had imagined - when she was living alone, having a family seemed like such an impossible dream to have. However, she now has a loving mate and two wonderful children... Such an amazing turn of events in just a short few months!
She made her way to stand beside Deus, nuzzling him gently on his neck before turning to look at their children. Then, she looked up at him, the smile never leaving her lips as she spoke, "Now that they can walk... After this meal, are we moving?"
His worried expression changed into one of relief and joy when he saw the colts eating... And apparently enjoying the fruits he had gathered. Smiling, he returned his mate's nuzzle with one of his own; while nuzzling into her hair, his smile widened as Grace's scent filled his nostrils - it was different now compared to her scent when they first met. Her scent now was more mature, with a scent he could only describe as belonging to a mother.
"Yes," He replied with a nod as removed his head from her hair. He looked away as he tried to find the right words in Kawani to explain with, "Um... Be better if move and let them get used to new home, not used to here and then asking them to move." He paused, giving his mate a quick nuzzle, "We move after meal."
{One more tag from you and we move - there will then be a time skip and they will arrive at the new place in the evening, where they will settle down and rest for the night, closing this RP. :3 }

Munching on more fruit, only stopping when his stomach felt ready to pop, full and feeling very round as he moved away from the fruit, licking at his nose the pink covered in juices. Tilting his head, looking over at the two bigger usdia's and wandering closer trying to listen and understand what was being said, he had herd the noises before when he was in the basket, though now the noises were more clear. Wandering over and between his parents legs, peering out from under his mother up at them before bounding off still clumsy on his small hooves.
Heading off away from his parents, snuffling around on the grass exploring, soon disappearing into a tuft of long grass and weeds, his nose poking back out again laughing, seeming to like being hidden. Rolling out the grass starting to bound again to a further larger tuft of grass near the border of their little home, seeming more than happy to be a wanderer as he dived into the tuft that he had been heading to.

By the time he felt satisfied, his tummy was rounder than before and he let out a soft, happy neigh. He turned to his side to see if his brother was done, but realized that he had vanished. Alarmed, his eyes widened before he made his way to his mother as fast as his stubby legs could move, "hiding" behind her front limb. He then peeked out slowly, scanning the area for any scary things that might had foal-napped his brother... Only to find the other colt a distance away, happily playing with a tuft of tall grass.
"Yes, I agree," She replied her mate with a nod, understanding the male's broken Kawani. She then moved a little as she felt someone move under her, giggling when she saw the small, pink colt.
She nuzzled Darius before smiling as he moved away. Her eyes followed the colt's movements, unwilling to let him out of her sight for his own safety; he was still so new to the world! That sort of innocence is so beautiful... Of course, she was aware of the fact that it couldn't possibly last forever. Still, she would enjoy it as long as it lasts. As Zuriel moved to "hide" under her, however, she couldn't help but take her eyes off Darius for a second, lowering her neck to nuzzle her younger son too before turning her attentions back to the older one.
As she watched him explore, she couldn't resist letting out a soft chuckle; while Darius is bold and curious, Zuriel seem to be shy and slow to warm up... She secretly wonder if that would change in the future.
Deus stayed near Darius as he wandered away, concerned for the colt's safety. When he saw that Zuriel was done with breakfast as well, however, he moved over and gave Darius a gentle nudge in the direction of Grace and Zuriel before trotting a few steps towards them. He then turned his head around to look at the colt before speaking, his voice soft, "Come, Darius..."
As he led the colt back, he lined his family up - him at the front, the two colts side by side in the middle, and Grace following behind to keep an eye on the children. Then, he led them into the forest, taking advantage of the light of day. He made frequent stops, making sure to let everyone get ample rest and water before moving again.
By sunset, they had reached a small clearing surrounded by trees, cut off in the Northwest by a cliff. There was a cave cut into the cliff, with a ceiling high enough for most Usdias to enter without needing to bow their heads. Deus stopped his family and entered first, checking to see if any poisonous snakes or scorpions had made their way in during the time he was gone. When he was sure that the coast was clear, he peered out with a smile, gesturing for them to come into their new home.
