Are we all accounted for on this brave new world?

Ranks

The Decepticons have a peculiar system of ranks: each dragon can have up to three ranks, one of each type.

Command Ranks
There are, at most, only four commanders of any type among the Decepticons. These are the highest ranks, and, in theory, the most highly respected dragons. One must earn a command rank, and by earn, we really mean "slag the competition."
Commander: Our Grand and Glorious leader. The leader and head tactician, coordinator of the attacks and final say in every matter. Commands the soldiers.
1/1
Second-in-Command: Not so much a rank as a title, the second-in-command takes control of the pack upon the death of the leader. It's also sort of an unofficial rank, one that is only really ever implied rather than stated outright. Seconds-in-command usually have other command ranks.
0/1
Air Commander: The leader of the Seekers. The air commander is usually the fastest and fiercest of the Seekers; a very high rank, and very well-respected. Most of the time.
0/1
Base Commander: In charge of the base during a battle.

Combat Ranks
Most Decepticons don't have command ranks, and not all of them have civilian ranks, but every 'Con has a combat rank. These are their ranks during battle.
Seekers: Decepticon scouts known for their skill in combat and their speed. They are the Decepticon elite and the best-regarded of the pack. Many of the Primus-descended Seekers have similar patterns with strange broad stripes on their ribs.
No limit
Communicators: Dragons who communicate with each other using trained animals such as birds or predators. There is one communicator per commander, to allow for easy communication during combat.
1/3
Soldiers: Your average grunts, fighting for the glory of the pack.
No limit
Medics: Whether they use magic or ordinary medicine, medics are among the least noticeable members of the pack. They are so vitally important to the safe running of the pack, however, that they may take no rank other than that of medic.

Civilian Ranks
All battle, no rest makes a pack dull--and very, very dead. Civilian ranks are becoming of increasingly greater importance now that a less psychotic leader is in charge.
Scientists: Those individuals who make observations about the world around them, make a few crude experiments, and draw conclusions. Many medics dabble in science.
No limit
Teachers: Combination teachers and babysitters. Their job is to raise the children from hatchlings to younglings, teaching them about the world in general and the history of the pack in particular. As they raise all the children, you can guess that the 'Cons at least pretend that parentage doesn't matter.
No limit
Hunters: Those who hunt for the pack. Very, very common civilian rank.
No limit
Femmes: Specifically, "femme" means a pregnant female, but most Decepticons use "femme" to mean any female dragon. A temporary rank.
No limit
Branders: dragons with a magic that allows them to “brand” other dragons with a mark that not only can be seen with the naked eye, but can also be detected by branders. The magic is very rare and is peculiar to the Primus Valley—only dragons born there can get the magic. No one is sure why—the more religious Decepticons believe that it is surely a sign that Primus himself forms the Primus Valley, but most researchers are determined to figure out the “scientific” cause of it. (None of them realize it, but a long ago Guardian placed the spell on the valley that causes some dragons to be branders.) Megatron was himself a brander. Since the magic is so rare, the 'Cons have no official limit on the number of branders; however, since they are usually only needed in the Branding Ceremony, there is naturally competition between them. Whenever there is more than one brander, one can safely assume that there is a secret, unspoken hierarchical structure among them.

Heritage

All packs have their little quirks when it comes to parentage. The Decepticons are no different. However, they at least try to put more emphasis on skill rather than blood.

Primus-Pure
Primus-pure dragons are those who have two parents who were born in the pack. Some might consider them stronger and more loyal—and others would point out that they are far more likely to be conniving, backstabbing slagtards. It used to be that Primus-pure dragons were considered to be better and more worthy of higher ranks (though not always by the commander), but with the pack much smaller than it used to be, the Decepticons can no longer afford to be picky.

Sludgies
A sludgie is a newcomer to the pack that has not yet been through the Branding Ceremony. While they may hold combat ranks, sludgies may not hold civilian or command ranks. They are not highly regarded, and most Decepticons will look down on them--at least until there's a whole new batch of sludgies and the old ones have been a) branded and b) proven worthy. Once they officially join the pack, sludgies are referred to as "recruits."

Half-Bloods
Half-bloods, as you might have guessed, are Decepticons with only one Primus-pure parent. Some might be conflicted, others completely normal, but since they must be born into the pack to be considered a half-blood, their children with either a Primus-pure or another half-blood dragon would be Primus-pure. For the most part, half-bloods are treated the same as Primus-pure. They’re just not as special, and old farts might grumble about how they’re not as good as Primus-pure.

Bios

Starscream—What’s there to say about our Grand and Glorious leader? He’s awesome. End of story. <3

Soundwave— Soundwave has been with the pack since its very beginning, and he has the scars to prove it—he’s fought in every battle they ever fought, raised his claws against every pack they ever came across. He’s dedicated his life to ensuring that each battle is an orchestrated masterpiece—and to ensuring that the next generation gets off to a smooth start.

Astrotrain—Astro is about as laid back as the come in the 'Cons. He really doesn't let too much get to him, so long as you don't question his abilities as a brander or a soldier, or threaten his family, you don't have too much to worry about. He does, however, love a good fight and if you give him reason to start one he'll most certainly enjoy every bone-breaking punch he throws. He's also one of the biggest dragons you'll ever see. Dude is slagging huge.

Blitzwing—To make a long story short, Blitzwing is a perfectly ordinary, if cold, individual who can’t control an inner urge to vent his emotions loudly. He can switch between calm and collected, furious and bloodthirsty, and silly and cheerful in less than a second.

Screamer—If it weren’t for his overall creepiness, Screamer would probably be Air Commander. He’s an incredibly skilled Seeker and quite useful in infiltrating other packs, but his skulking ways and overall stalker-ish personality has made him one of the less popular dragons in the pack.

Zephyr—Zephyr is unstable and uncertain. His memories and personalities are deeply tied to his location, so when he leaves an area he tends to forget what happened there, only to remember once more should he return. Memories of other places can also be triggered by certain visual cues, such as dragons he knows very well or certain shapes and colors. Due to this handicap, he is frequently confused, unpredictable, and violent.

Zzzyxwe—Where she’s from, she doesn’t know. What she’s doing, she’s uncertain. Zeezee, as everyone calls her, is mad as Sweeney Todd’s hatter and now that she’s been pressganged into the Decepticons, she isn’t likely to leave her excuse to be a homicidal maniac any time soon.

Eisnacht--The eldest daughter of Astrotrain and Blitzwing, Eis takes after her mountain father the most. The actual Blitzwing, that is. She's cold and a bit distant, choosing to react with reason rather than emotion, meaning that, unlike her sisters, she never has sudden outbursts of rage and randomness. She also feels it's her job to keep her family out of trouble, which is damn near impossible.

Feuervogel--Astrotrain and Blitzwing's middle daughter, she takes after Blitzwing's "Hothead" personality. She may be rash and tactless, but Feuer is pretty much as loyal as they come--to her family, her Commander, and her pack.

Cabaret--
