I'm just wondering. What ar your personal views about celeberties wearing Lolita in general. Personally, I have mixed feelings. Certain ways of showing it can make the fashion seem different than what It really is but at the same time, the fashion can becme more known by people, thus bringing more awareness of the style. (which could lead to a possibilty of other brands opening shops in the US and other countries if the fashion becomes a hit.)
Ex of media exposures:
Sweet lolitas in Incubus music video(Black Heart Inertia)
Lady Gaga wearing Lolita
Katy Perry mentioning it in a magazine.

Wow, some of these I've never heard about. I'll have to check them out.

I'm a little excited to be honest. I hope we get a tiny bit of influence footing in fashion stores, if only for a little while. I like seeing girls wearing stuff that could fall in to the casual lolita category that they got at the mall. And more girls seem to know what lolita is now, less "are you in costume?" questions and more "is that lolita?" questions.

Honestly I think it's cool seeing lolita in the media. It's great when there's a little influence in fashion for lolita, it can make it easier to find off-brand blouses and accessories. whee

Personally, I hate it.
GTFO my lolita.
*shrug* I'm alone though.

Though the possibility of finding casual blouses and accessories at the mall is great.

Wow, I didn't know about the incubus one! I'm 90% certain that that's unravelling_sky and smileysquid!! That's awesome. And would make sense since they live in LA.

I think it's great that Lolita is getting media coverage, and that they're our own local girls! heart

That's definitely nice. x3
I haven't seen the video, but that's definitely better to me than Hayley Williams or Lady Gaga. Dx

I like it when celebrities wear lolita as long as their doing it right. Like as long as their not doing it for fetishes or to be sexy. I've never seen Lady Gaga in it but I knew it was bound to happen eventually. I know since I'm a Theatre major and I ever become that famous I hope I can get brands to make designs for me if I get the money

I don't mind it at all. They can wear what they want just like I can.

I like the way that Kerli messes with lolita! XD
I haven't seen the picture of Lady Gaga, but she dabbles in everything, so I' cool with her being her crazy self.
Paramore's music video with lolita was cool. I think she got the casual look that she was going for and didn't really advertise that she was "sooo roroia."
I haven't seen the other examples that were listed.

I'd love to find more lolita type clothes in the mall.

I saw the ep of Price of Beauty with Lolita in it yesterday. It wasn't on for too long but Jessica didn't have a negative reaction to it. I spotted some AP items in the background. Most of the style shown was sweet lolita.

Later in the show, she modeled in a lolita outfit. I think she did a cute job. Her attitude was very flirtly and fun. A bit much for lolita, but then again, she doesn't know much about the fashion.

I kind of groaned at her wearing lolita.
I did not need to see your bloomers, Jessica. Underclothes. D; I dunno about her walk, either... A bit sloppy.
Then again, as you said, she only got that little bit that Maki told her. At least they turned to a credible source and didn't kill lolita completely.

lol. I did get slightly annoyed at that but brushed it off considering she doesn't know anything really about the fashion nor lifestyle. For some one who doesn't really know anything, I thought it was cute.

But...I do think they could have chose better a better outfit for her.

Finally watched that episode of The Price of Beauty.

I feel like that show was cut just to make her look stupid and entertain us. I feel the same way about ANTM. Anyone at anytime could have explained that lolita is modest, keep to yourself in public, don't be loud or disturb others at the spa, don't gawk, point, geisha are quiet and poised or whatever. She wasn't horrible, she was just American, and I feel she could have done the fashions and the general etiquette complete justice, but no one instructed her properly just to make better television by making her look like a stereotypical Ugly American. I don't really think it's fair to make her look like a rude foreigner. In America, she's considered classy and sweet, and I feel that way too.

Aside from the ratings-producing style of the show though, I thought she looked cute in Sweet (personal thing, I'd have liked her better in country, but that's just me). I think she has the face for it, very doll-like country girl. I've always thought she was a cutie. I don't think she'll make it a bfd among western lolita like Gaga and Mama, though, cause it was something offered for her to try and learn about, not a personal choice to wear it for an event or red carpet.

Side note: I dunno if this is the celebrity effect or not, but Wet Seal carries mini hats and alice bow accessories, high waisted poofy skirts are back, and three old ladies in different situations knew instantly that I was a "gothic lolita from japan" (from america, but I... think they had the other part right... *digs that outfit from laundry*)

I love it when the media mentions Lolita.
Random story: A friend I met at a con said that she went to a concert and asked the singer to sign her bag. It was a Baby bag, and the singer said "Whoa. This is a Baby bag. Are you sure you want me to sign this?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes...!"
"Are you really, really sure?"
"Yes!"

She got it signed.
