Reyn had been bugging her for weeks about seeing Logan and Layla again. Lisa had been gallantly pointing out she didn't exactly know either of their addresses. Reyn had argued back that it didn't matter.
Finally they had reached a compromise. Reyn could have his friends sleep over as long as he could find out a way to get in touch with them. Which, Lisa reflected to herself, hadn't been a very good idea.
The boy was rushing about the room, pulling games out, then stuffing them back in. He dashed to the kitchen and grabbed some cups and plates, only to decide several minutes later that they wouldn't be needed right away.
"Settle down," Lisa snapped irritably. "They'll be here when they're here. Geez... It's just the two of them!" she exclaimed.
Reyn froze on his way back into the living room, guilt quite literally flooring him. The pixie-dragon hybrid dropped the sleeping bag he was lugging into the living room down on the ground. "Umm.. Actually.. Poxi said there were more kids."
Lisa flopped down on the couch with a groan. "Reyn..."
"But they're my friends too!" the boy rushed out, nearly tripping over his own words. "And they might not come, and anyway it's more fun with more people and we'll be good, I promise and I'll even take a nap tomorrow if you say so and I'll be quiet all day long and please don't tell them to go away!"
Lisa twitched a finger at Reyn, gesturing for the boy to come over. Stomach twisting in even more knots, the dragon slowly walked over, so worried that his feet actually dragged on the floor.
As soon as he reached Lisa, the woman hooked an arm around him and pulled him onto her. Surprised, (and thrilled) at the unusual affection, Reyn snuggled into his not-mommy.
"How many?" Lisa asked resignedly, eyes closed.
Reyn grimaced and looked down at his feet. "All?" The only response was a sigh. Gingerly the gregarious boy looked up at Lisa. "Is.. Am I in trouble...?" he finally blurted out.
"Yes," came the immediate response. Reyn wilted against his parents. "For not asking permission and not telling me right away." Lisa cracked on eye open to peer at the distraught kid. "And as punishment you'll have double chores this weekend."
Reyn nodded glumly, waiting to hear the rest of the punishment. Lisa stared down at the boy in almost amusement. The two sat in silence for a few minutes, before Reyn broke the silence. "And?" He asked.
"And what?"
"What's the rest of my punishment?" he clarified.
Lisa looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "Hmm.. You have to have fun at the sleepover tonight. And quit worrying if they'll like it."
Immediately the boy jumped up. "Really!? It's not canceled!!?" Jumping off the couch he spun around a few times out of sheer relief and joy. The jubilation was cut short, by a knocking on the apartment door.
Lisa shook her head with a faint smile. She was getting soft. "You'd better get that," she informed Reyn.

"And remember," Marcus said to the little girl standing next to him at the door, "keep your clothes ON, understand? And don't forget to brush your teeth. You always get strange things stuck in them." He sighed, wondering how his life had turned into this, yet again. But she looked so excited, bouncing from foot to foot like she was, that he didn't regret it that much.
"All night?" Layla asked, completely ignoring his instructions.
"Yes, all night," he said. "It's a sleep over, remember? That means you sleep over here for the night. And you don't--"
"Strip," she finished for him. "I know, I know," she waved him off. "Should you knock again? Maybe they didn't hear it!"
"They heard it. I just knocked," he told her, trying not to laugh as she reached up. He grabbed her hand before she knocked again. "They heard it, I promise," he told her.

Reyn raced to the door and flung it open.
"LAYLA!" He screeched, launching a huge hug at the girl. "You made it!"
The boy tugged Layla inside. "It's going to be so much fun! I can't wait. Did you know that other kids are coming!?" His tail twitched back and forth excitedly.

She hugged him back happily, glad that he had grown like she had. She would have felt bad if he was still a baby while she was bigger! "They are?" she asked. "Who? Is it Tilde or Saar? Or--" she pulled a blank, trying to remember who else she had met.
"What are we gonna do?" she asked him, unable to think of anyone. "You know, other than sleep?"

Saige walked silently toward the house, holding the scribbled address in her hand and double checking every few seconds. Beside her, Saar stood with her hands pulling through her hair, a soft smile on her face and her body posed with relaxed nature. Since she reached her new development as a child, Saige realized the girl had gained tremendous confidence, and sometimes a new side of hers started to come out.
Her clothing was brighter, and her hair was longer and pulled back into two flowing pig-tails. She smiled more often and her eyes shined brighter red than before. But overall, she was the one who wanted to join the party tonight, despite the fact she had never met the boy who hosted it.
"Momma...is that Layla's dad?" She asked with a soft, airy voice, though no stuttering or uncertainty was in the tone. She pointed to where the man was walking from the door, and suddenly knew she was in the right place, "That means Layla is here...I can't wait to show her how long my hair is!"
She grinned, flashing her fangs, before rushing ahead of her mother and to the door. Pulling up her hand, she lightly knocked on the door, the hard tips making it sound much louder.

Albin had never even heard of the kid he was going to see today, the young child knew only that it was a boy. That wasn't a lot to go on but Albin was interested in a sleepover so he'd jumped at the opportunity the invitation offered. The part pixie part nightmare spawn had of course had to promise to be extra extra good and resist the urge to pull tricks on anyone. The scarlet eyed boy felt this was highly unfair it was just part of who he was, still he'd promised and here he was barreling out of the barely stopped car and then pausing. Was that Saar at the door. The pink haired boy was pretty sure it was, oh well at least he'd know someone here then although what a girl was doing at a sleepover held by a boy Albin didn't know, he was sure there was rules about that. His long thin wings twitched in excitement as he raced towards the door and the girl he had met when both of them were smaller. " Hey Saar"
Tal rolled his eyes and gave a soft but amused sigh as he followed behind and carried his son's things. At least Albin was excited and showed no signs separation anxiety. The white haired angel was still nervous about leaving his often rambunctious child in the hands of an unprepared stranger for the night though. He just had to hope Albin could keep his word and behave.

Saar's ears twitched slightly at the sound of someone coming, and turned around right as Albin called out her name. All at once, her eyes grew brighter and a giant smile crossed her face. She all but forgot about knocking on the door at the sight of her friend, the boy she played with in the park seemingly so long ago.
"Albin!" She greeted with a soft, cheerful gasp, before she moved to embrace the boy in a hug. Saar was a child now, and had grown out of her shy stage into a girl who wanted to explore the world, and get into some trouble along the way. However, because of her mother, she was beginning to know how to run the charm to get out of any mess, as long as she had a bright smile and quick apologies.
Yes, she was learning quickly.

Reyn shrugged happily. "I don't know! I invited everyone," he informed his friend as he closed the door behind her. "We can play games or build a fort or have a pillow fight." He leaned forward and whispered, tail twitching and wriggling, "I snuck in sundae stuff at the grocery store but it's a secret!"
Just then came another knock on the door. "We're supposed to sleep in the living room, so you can put your stuff here," he informed Layla, before dashing off to the door.
Flinging it open, Reyn cheered at the sight of two more kids. "Two for one! Awesome! I'm Reyn," he informed them happily. He practically danced in place, waiting for the hug to finish and the kids to introduce themselves.

Layla tossed her bag into a corner in the living room, looking around curiously for a moment before she headed to join Reyn at the front door. "Saar?" she asked. "You grew, too! Cool!" She grinned at her "sister" and showed off her massively sharp silver teeth. Then she looked at Albin, curiously. She hadn't met this one before!
She wondered if she was related to him, too.

Albin had been surprised by the hug but the dark skinned boy had returned it regardless before directing his attention at the then open door and the boy in it. Huh! He was weird looking but he seemed friendly enough. Before he could reply though there was a sharp toothed girl in the doorway as well and Albin suddenly felt a little more sure he could keep his promise of not pulling tricks on people.
"I'm Albin," the scarlet eyed boy replied once he'd freed himself from the hug and grabbed his bag from his father.

The shark-like girl turned away from her friend to see the door burst open, and catch sight of a strange looking boy. However, she thought nothing of Reyn's appearance of the sort, because almost all of her friends had their own quirks and traits.
Speaking of friends, before Saar could even respond to his greeting, she caught sight of Layla and her toothy grin. The girl had changed greatly, just like Saar, but still had the same quirks the child remembered.
"Layla! I did, my hair is longer!" she than turned toward Albin and caught sight of the bag, turning around to grab it from Saige before waving quickly for her mother to leave. She felt much better now that two of her friends were here, who she hadn't seen in awhile, so she was fine without her mother for one night.
"I'm Saar..." She said smoothly once she turned back around, flashing Reyn a fanged grin before stepping toward the door to come inside.

"Hey! You know each other!" The boy sounded delighted by this fact. The more friends the merrier. Making way for everyone to come in, he gestured. "Lisa, lisa! This is Saar and Albin and Saar knows Layla and this is my not-mommy Lisa." The excited boy shut the door behind every one, accidentally slamming the door in his excitement. Anxiously he turned to his new friends, "Do you know if anyone else is coming?"
Lisa waved at the four kids from her spot on the couch. Glancing at the clock she nodded. Ten more minutes before she retreated to her room.

"Yeah, it is!" Layla agreed, since, well, her hair WAS longer. What else could she say about it? Layla's hair was longer, too, but her Dad never made that out as a good thing...
Then again, she bet Saar's hair was a LOT easier to brush. With that thought she turned to eye Albin for a little bit before looking over at Reyn. "I didn't know anyone else was coming," she admitted. "But they'll either show up or not," she added with a shrug. "Hey, Miss Lisa," she added, waving at the dragon lady. "Dad says hi." Or he would have, she added silently, if he had thought about it.

Albin waved back at the woman on the couch and gave a quick and slightly mumbled 'thank you for having me" as he'd been instructed too. Energetic and cheeky most of the time the dark skinned boy was not entirely comfortable confronting adults he didn't know. It was only when he faced the group of other children again that he relaxed, and his pale blue wings flicked behind the boy in a rhythmic manner.
"How many people did you invite?" Albin asked curiously, there were from what he remembered a lot of them, surely more than could fit into one house if everyone showed up. That and the young boy knew that when you got too many people together in one place fights always happened.

There was a knock at the door less than a minute before Lisa'd be retreating. In front of it, a blue skinned girl was wrapped up in a scarf and clutching her bag. Behind her, a tall brunette was nervously adjusting the scarf and asking if she was okay for the night and assuring her to call if she started feeling sick again.
Verali flicked her tail and shooed off her father. "I'll be okay." she'd woken up sick that day but had insisted on loading up on medicinal herbs and going, with the promise of not breathing on anyone. The girl had been looking forward to this party and she was going to go!
