Into the sunlit night she rose, watching the wind move trees and shrubs through her own shadowy gaze. The long, blue mane she rarely tended to sat mangled and debris ridden; her muscular form rigid within a hallowed out mound.

It was not too often that Caspera found a day worthy of her mobility, the sense of warmth and security brought by an empty den settling the girl into a life of some normalcy.

Hardly normal, actually.

In her hiding out Caspera would seek out a friend with but a whisper; one who spoke with a lot of sarcasm that amused her. He was strong, in her unknowing eyes, and a very "on when he's on, off when he's off" character with a mind as sharp as an arrow and a mysterious air about his presence. She was no idiot, noting his fluttering intros and bad habit to Caw after every phrase, but over time she grew to accept this creature as a neighbor...despite the foul, avian-like stench he reeked of.

“Has the day come already? How exciting, isn't it old friend?” She whispered, some what made content by the stillness that had come over the forest.

Moments passed with no response. Soon, she lost interest despite some disappointment and mused for a moment on what she could be doing right now instead of playing this watching and waiting game.

A sense of worry wanted to overwhelm her for Fat, the males name, but it simply could not. She did however, after coming to a conclusion that breakfast was in order, begin to wonder where he had gone and what could have been made him by now. Perhaps the old bird had been eaten, since surely it was past his prime anyway. Or maybe his absence meant something dangerous was coming...she could imagine him flying the coop at the hint of confrontation, his leaving being the friendliest of warnings.

Her shoulders hiked in a shrug, brushing off the questions that lacked of any reassurance before stepping out into the day; which Caspera could not see at all. What was her fascination with his company anyway? Oh right, there really was none.

Why was she waiting around here again?

Strong paws took the large male off of the Reign of Terror packlands. His Mistress had sent him on a mission, to greet the wolves near the edges of the terriotry and see if they knew anything about the rogue b*****d that he was looking for. Gathing information was one of his many pleasures, for there were few with skills as refined as his. His Mistress even trusted him to train another female to be an informant, a spy.

Damon was large compared to many wolves. He was not fat, however, he did not have the pleasure of laying around and being lazy. At least.. not until recently. Though he had to train Gabrielle, that only took so much of his time.

Moghedein was safe, though, for she had gained affection of the Goblin King. No one would dare try to harm her, for the wrath of the King was not one that many dared to take on.

It left him with time for his mind to wonder on his journeys, debating if he should find a mate for himself. Moghedein would be more than happy to let him do such, as long as he continued to be dedicated to finding information for her. The King could take over protecting her..

So who would he protect?

His mind seemed to be unable to shut off, twirling like a wheel. He almost didn't realize that he was coming upon another, but once he did, he paused in his steps. His head raised a little as he stared at the decorative femme before him.

"Hello, M'lady." He stated politely, his tone neutral as he bowed his head a little in a formal greeting.

"Coming on rather boldly aren't you." Caspera replied, having caught his scent even with the rarity of wind that passed. Her body fell into its usual, rigid stance that, surprisingly, did not look anxious at all; she had mastered her own abilities with time, patience, and repetition. Whatever emotion she wanted to hide, be it happiness or worries, now was easily done so with a quick change of thought and a charming smile.

This was a shocker to her, kind of a spirit lifter in some ways and a downer in others; a wolf, one who smelled nothing like her companion and no where near relating to it, but bringing her more pleasure than Fat ever did. A bird could only be open to so many harmful jokes; she needed another subject, even if it only lasted a couple of moments.

Her sniffs were discrete, her perfect hearing made apparent with the hike and stiffness of each ear, but what was not often as noticeable was her lack of sight. Being able to make out certain objects that stood in her way often ensured Caspera that her handicap would rarely be noted, however there were some occasions where the tricks of the trade had been snatched up and recited by another Jack. Usually though, she came out on top.

Settling her eyes on what was thought to be the head, a slight tilt of her face acting as reassurance if this opposing creature questioned the emptiness of her gaze, Caspera waited. There was no worry found on that placid, blue facade; not even the hint of doubt. Her red markings even seemed to lift in a sinister grin…She was far too confident in her act to assume the worse.

Not seeing the bow of his head, Caspera only continued to stare and blink from time to time.

Finally.

"At any rate hello, and good day to you as well." From behind, her tail swat gently at her thighs.

There was no doubt that the beauty before him was a strong one, and that her pretty markings did not keep her from becoming hard hearted. Damon allowed his eyes to take in her form, attempting to catch every breath and twitch she made. Strong, he decided, but probably not crazy enough to take a wolf of his size on when he had an entire pack that would come after her hide. He was not highly valued to the King, but the new Queen was his Mistress.

A smile pulled onto his own maw, his words and actions methodical from his teachings. "I do apologize if I have started you, M'Lady. I was merely exploring the edges outside of the territory my pack owns."

His tone was still neutral, though this time he was fighting to keep it from being soft. He always had a bit of a soft spot for females who seemed to be strong and independant. Part of him felt that most of them didn't wish to be as independant as they were, for companionship was something that wolves came to crave naturally.

Breaking down barriers was something he did for a living, though for once he seemed interested in doing so for reasons other than information to help the pack.

It took him a while to catch on, but he realized that her gaze was rather empty, it did not seem to flicker about like his own. Was this female.. sightless? He would not ask such a thing, but instead wait to find out. Not all information had to be pried out, some could be volunteered if he behaved as a gentlemen, true to his nature.

"As per customs for said pack, I was wondering if perhaps you had a reason to be so close by?" She was lucky to have run into him, for he had no doubt that several males in the pack would take advantage of a blind female. Then again.. a lot of them probably wouldn't be able to handle the spirit that the female gave off with just her smirk.

He too had an interesting way about his speech that did not captivate so much as it baffled. Caspera had not met many wolves willing to talk without condescending or, in most cases, threaten. Again this meeting looked to be heading in the right direction; one that would surely entertain at the very least.

There was mention of a pack, and as her thoughts settled on sticking out the conversation she perked inquisitively. "Exploring?"

Well that was new. Perhaps she simply was not looking for others, and that would explain why she hadn't picked up on the warnings littered across the nearing boundary. Then again she could have tucked the lingering smells away for later, and over time forgotten such a trivial thing...

No, Caspera never forgot anything; trivial or not. Maybe it was age. Disgruntled by this, the wolf sneered regardless of the kind tone he took.

"It is so funny how we think this land belongs to us...Of course I have a reason. This is a forest, and this here is a den, and I am a wolf residing in it for comfort and safety until the wet season rolls in. At which time you might choose to visit again and find me long gone, perhaps off to encroach on a neighboring plot owned by a burrow of rabbits." There happened to be a hill on her left, one that looked massive enough to be called a mountain, and although Caspera could not make out the territory; the bird most certainly could and had undoubtedly mentioned a couple of hares before.

Her silver eyes dulled further as she settled into the real Caspera. She knew the rules of a pack and knew very well that some terrains were "claimed", yet coming to terms with rules she neither cared for and specifically abandoned in her childhood brought on a very bothered canine. Her demeanor switched, a kindness that might have been found on that elongated snout and ebon-lipped mug fading while its replacement (a conniving slack to her brow) surfaced.

"I'm certain a girl like me could do no harm to any pack anyhow." Blinking rapidly, Caspera turned her face down and gave a grave chuckle. "Tell me what it is you look like; picking on lonely wolf without so much as giving a name is a one way ticket to hell don't you think?" Her tone was soft, as if she were analyzing the words as they came up but that smile remained.

Damon was quite enticed by the female, finding her words drawing him in rather than putting him off. They made him more interested her, what made her tick and behave in this way. All of his missions, his worry for his Mistress and thoughts of the future were pushed into the recesses of his mind and forgotten. No wolf had managed that in a long time, she must have been a special one indeed.

Through her words, his thoughts of her blindness were proved true. He had never met a blind wolf before, it brought curiousity of the difficulties that could occur with such an issue.

"Much larger than you," He explained of himself, "I have spent my life being trained to be both a body guard and an informant." One of his paws moved forward, taking a step near her.

"And because of that second job, I'm certian that a girl like you could harm a pack through actions other than words." It was both an explination of his questioning her, and a compliment. He knew all to well the way a female spoke and acted could convince a male to do things he would not normally attempt. Moghedein had managed to capture the heart of the King and gained almost equal power and influence.

"You hardly seem defenceless, dear lady, I doubt you would roll over and submit if you were asked to."

Caspera’s features looked unenthused by his efforts; although it was not to say she wasn’t fully enveloped in the conversation. She refused to be taken over by kindness and common courtesy. Switching the sides in which she tilted her head, the female grew more resolute in her standing.

His summary intrigued her, penetrating straight through her shell and finding a place nearer to her own persona. “A spy?” She hissed finally, the thump of her heart beat growing louder.

Only a weasel could play the roll as a spy. Be it strong or weak; the wolf had to be some sort of sneak and phony to get away with such a roll outside his comfortable pack world. She too was like a spy, but only looking in on the events held by families of different species. Birds building their nests, the crack of twigs and hay combined with the unsettling chirp of baby birds a nuisance she could barely stand, at times bears and their cubs meandering the open plains in search of food and shelter for the nights.

Her awkward presence in all of these situations surely would have meant death had she been seen. This knowledge kept her sporadic visits going strong.

This wolf was right. She had more power than she let on and by far more of an intuitive nature than many creatures she had encountered. As he stepped forward, beneath his paws the crackle of leaves and soft mush of dirt which made a sound that not many would listen for, Caspera lifted her head.

“Isn’t it against policy to admit to being an informant? You don’t know a thing about me; I could be one of the very wolves you are out to find…yet here you stand, talking on about my strengths and prowess. If your pressing paws do not mean a fight is about to erupt, then perhaps there is something else I can do for you?”

She gave another chuckle, the heave of her chest and the squint of her eyes showing how dark and truely corrupted Caspera was.

"I only admit such to you because I doubt you have information that the King and Queen would find important. They care not for the affairs of blind ones wondering, unless a paw steps onto their lands." His own smile stayed on his lips, even as she moved and attempted to scare him off.

His Mistress would probably like this female, as long as she didn't pose a threat towards herself. Her corrupted nature was the same as many in the Reign of Terror, a pack of violent warriors, power hungry beasts and uncaring bloodsuckers. There were few in the pack that were the least bit pure of heart, and usually they were accepted as such only because they were of value to the King and Queen. Such as Raelin, who mated with their precious Blood Shaman and gave pups for the pack to raise.

She was definatly a hard wolf to figure out. Each time he thought he knew anything about her, she was showing another side and he grew more intrigued by her.

Was she truly evil? Or like Raelin, was she a harmed soul that lashed out? Being blind was sure to be difficult..

He shook the thoughts from his head. "You seem desperate to get me to leave, M'lady. Is my company that unbarable?" His tone was amused more than anything else, eyes glowing brightly as he looked over over once more.

"Yes, well I wouldn't assume anything with a stranger." She said with a nod. Caspera then wished she could see his shaking head; it would make life so much easier if only her eyes worked as they should, allowing for her to read his face.

"And, this is about as close to your land as is possible. You may do as you'd like so long as you do not come any closer."

"My only issue with your company is that I am not one for company at all." With that her knees slacked and her rump dropped to the Earth. Raised shoulders kept their stance, neck tucked slightly in between the blades and muscle while her Cheshire face kept to its usual fiasco.

"Then again I've been told my company is not all too...thrilling either. I'm often very hungry and hard to please. I suppose since you are here, you might as well tell me about yourself. I know you are bigger than me, but that does nothing for a girl whose eyes are only half there. How is your weight?"
PostPosted: Fri Mar 12, 2010 8:21 pm

Even though she said she was not one for company, she was asking questions of him? More amusement rushed through him but he didn't express that at all. Instead, he sat, though his head was held slightly higher than hers was.

"My weight? An odd question.. My weight is heavy, but not due to fat. Even in the spare time I have, I am always exploring and doing my duties. I am a body guard to the Queen of Terror. I can have nothing but muscles on my bones if I am to defend her in the way she deserves." It showed his pure dedication, to his duty and his mistress.

"You may come to find that the company I tend to keep is indeed the kind that most would not wish upon themselves." After all, there were few bitcher than the females of the RoT. But this femme.. She was different. Damon was interested.

"Are you hungry now? I could find something for you." His offer was geniune, he was honestly curious if she would accept any form of help.

She immediately felt taken by fitful and obnoxious laughter, the slender chest she bore heaving with every breath.

“You must be joking?” Her voice seemed to crack through the noise just as mellow and uninterested as before.

“Muscle for the Queen? Well that’s very chivalrous of you! Would The Mistress mind her bulk feeding poverty?” Caspera then continued, tongue rolling around her mouth in mockery. The thrumming of laughter grew tiring, and quickly the blue wolf drew back in her seat with the same bold-faced grin as before.

Ebon lips pursed themselves, ears slicking back while the wild mane continued to quiver with sudden winds. Her face contorted some, interest reflected off that blank stare. “I’m more concerned with this company you are so certain is not what one would ‘wish upon themselves.’”

“Are they ravenous?” Her face brightened at the thought, saliva culling in her sealed mouth.

"A pity that a beauty such as yourself is not accustomed to the attentions of a male. I would think many would be unable to keep their eyes off of you." Damon murmured as he tilted his head a little. He did not seem to mind her cackles or her mocking words.

Such things were merely words, after all.

"Those that I am around are usually hardened hearts with little choice but to move forward." He glanced over his shoulder towards the pack. "Such as My Mistress, the Queen, she is quite.. difficult for most to be around. Quite a fiesty thing with strength to match her words." However, he knew inside her there was a heart that was beating fully, wishing for her hopes and dreams to come true.

Damon had the tendency to see past the rough and tough facade. "The other members of my pack are much like the Queen herself. Vicious hunters, warriors and deadly beings that gain pleasure out of power. Our King is one of the strongest and most dangerous males that one could come across. It will not be long before he has complete control of the lands as far as the eye can see. Packs will either bow to us or suffer the conciquences."

There was pride to his tone as he spoke, showing he did very much believe in his pack, as deranged as they were.

She had humor no matter what anyone assumed. It was dark, symbolic of a troubled childhood but humor nonetheless and her continuous excitement over such a pack as his seemed to prove this.

His remark on her features did not go unnoticed, and Caspera was quick to respond to it.

“I haven’t had much time to look at the water I drink from. Luckily, I can assume you are right. I am beautiful, aren’t I?” Her words were spiked with venom, her appearance a soft spot.

But onto other matters, she thought. “But I can assure you this king is not the strongest in the land.”

“I bet there will surface a stronger male; In fact, I have met quite the wolf in my day. Maybe it will not happen tomorrow, or a month from now but either way you shouldn’t have so much certainty in your tone. It is not good karma, dear boy.”

She rose again then, taking a firm step forward before stiffening out for a quick sniff. “I can smell them now. It is so surprising what you can miss when everything in the world becomes the strongest odor.”

"My, how lovely it is to hang with devils." Looking off beyond him, she chuckled. "Yes..."

“Your name?" Caspera then whispered, head shaking out before letting her tongue hang from her jowls. "I’d like to know of it for the future, in case I have it out with your mighty king and cankerous queen.”

His smirk grew, though she could not see it. "Beautiful.. Yes, for there are few things more beautiful in my eye than a female who's heart is covered in ice, but on fire in the deadliest way." Surely it was the easiest route to avoid all others, to stay away from him.

"It is a brave wolf indeed who would dare speak words against the Greatest King." Damon looked her over. "Very brave, or very foolish." The Goblin King had killed endlessly, bears, humans, other wolves.. There was nothing he would not do.

"My name is Damon," He stated with that same pride, having no shame in his job, his pack or who he was. It was something he had always been secure about. "Though I hope you do not run into the Queen or King." It would not farewell for her. Even their Shaman, Haemon, was perfect at finding one's weakness and forcing them into madness.

"Devils they may be, but their true strength lies not in their muscles."

His was a strong alias, although if there was a meaning behind it she was not aware. Caspera fancied his parallel attitude as it ran along the only thing that truly belonged to any of them, a name, moved somewhat by the hidden (almost felt) animosity for any who would oppose these Kings and Queens.

Submersed within her own mind, she wondered again what it would be like to see his face. To watch another pair of wolf eyes stare back into her own, or watch the way her carefully placed paws danced when tricky games began to play out well in her favor.

Then again reading her eyes would make trickery a much harder task to accomplish.

It was dully noted that her hindrance was not sight but acceptance, and any who doubted her ability to be just as strong as a seeing wolf would be making a horrible mistake. She too knew of the power behind the mind; perhaps more so than Damon's praised leaders...

It tugged on her desires, urging the female to find these things Damon mentioned out for herself.

She would have to see this Queen and her King...yes! She would have to see the strengths Damon trade marked for his alphas. Caspera's eyes widened as a new rush of excitement swelled.

"Oh?" Her first comment slurred with the next. "I haven't gotten out in such a long time..."

"Damon, take me to your Greatest King. Perhaps I can be the judge of his strengths? I’m no fool, I know I might be the best opponent in the ring but I might learn something from an experience with…true greatness. Wouldn’t you agree?"

Her rump shook then as her tail, once limp, now thrashed against her hips anxiously. His figure faded from her limited sight, the darkness spell fast upon her.
