Jihad Jane

Does anyone else see the complete ridiculousness of this? To me, this kind of thing is no different from bombing abortion clinics in the name of God. How can anyone think that ANY God would want it's followers to kill?

Urrgh. I'm just baffled by this. Completely and utterly baffled.

What do you kind folks think?

Not all gods are good. I can think of two right off the top of my head who would delight in this sort of thing.

Haha, my mum called me to see this lady. But at the time, she was watching FOX News and they did not get the story right. I send & recieve mail/letters from Pakistan, Tunisia and naturally talk to Muslims from all over via the internet.

My Mum thought the girl was innocent, and had just TALKED to terrorists..hell, no, this crazy lady flew to Sweden to kill someone! So yeah, she's crazy - glad she's in custody.

Your standard mischief deities, or gods of evil / darkness. Jihad seems to be right up their alley.

A jihad is not bad. It is the way people use the word, which is incorrectly.
This is a huge pet-peeve of mine, saying jihad is "right up their alley" All it means is struggle. Please, dont give it anymore meaning than that.

Also, if a person kills someone, kills someone else - they're mentally not right, whether it be from from some...brainwashing, or psychosis. Religion does not excuse this.
Shes not a Muslim, and her "Jihad" is not a correct representation of the Arabic word Jihad (جهاد), that means struggle.

A correct usage of the word would be: I'm going through a jihad with my family.

What does this mean? Not that I will kill off my family, it means I'm struggling with them, for some reason. And seeking guidance from Allah (swt).

You (Or others) may not think word usage matters, but MANY things can get lost in translation. This word definatley has, I just thought an explanation would be good.

Forgive me. I meant no offense. I was thinking of the negative connotation associated with it.

I'm not offended, its not your fault the way you associate it with violence.
It's her fault, Miss "JihadJane' and the rest of those...insane, terrible people using the Qur'an to attempt to justify terroism and death. When in reality, they not only will burn in hell, but they make life hard for REAL Muslims who are just trying to live a normal life.

Does hearing this explanations help to educate?
I try to educate in a positive way all the time, but i dont think more than half of the people listening even care. -le sigh-

Now now everyone, don't forget the Christian equivalent of the jihad, the crusade. You know that if the US was not under the Constitution with the Establishment Clause for religion, the US would be going to crusades all the time. They have throughout history, what's different now?

It does. What I really wanted to say was that it does't make sense to assume that there isn't a god who would advocate this behavior when we have thousands of years of stories about gods who have done things like this, or worse. Even the Lord has, in the past, ordered wars, deaths, and personally killed people.

The difference is, these people who are blowing them & others up are NOT Muslims. The white girl in this article, has no real excuse. She's insane I guess...

But the members of Al Qaeda, are brainwashed and illiterate. Most were orphaned as boys, and these terrorist groups bring the orphan boys in their Madrasahs and teach them to THEIR liking.

The best way the rest of the world can combat Al-Qaeda and like groups is to:

1) Send the orphan males to other countries to be sent to REAL facilities for kids without families.

2) Build more schools, not bloody blow them up.

1. The last crusade ended over 700 years ago and all of the crusades happened in about a 200 year time frame.
2. The US is not under a predominantly Catholic influence and the Crusades were wars or battles sanctioned by the Catholic Church.
3. There's no dogmatic element to them.

Jihad has to do with an inner and outer struggle, so the two really aren't all that comparable...they only are when meaning of the words are being misused.
