The small-boned Somali slipped out the front doors of the University, being cautious and quiet with his footfalls. He kept his fluffy tail close to his body as he trotted along, a grin growing on his face as he headed in the direction of the park. Emily didn't seem to be around, today -- and he didn't like the company of his other siblings as much, they were a little too...bold for his tastes, although Vik seemed to enjoy their time -- and he was bored. Maybe he'd find a new friend... Or maybe he'd see Nikki again. The thought of those fine chocolates filled his mind and in the background, Vik snorted, but Novi kept walking. Soon the park came into sight. He found a metal swingset and hoisted himself up on the seat, skinny legs dangling. He was just a slip of a kid with almost feminine features -- but he hoped he'd come off as someone who just wanted to have some fun. Innocent fun, of course.

Keiko was a much larger cat compared to the females that seamed to loom about where she used to live. She took it as a blessing because even if she didn't have the heart to fight she was generally avoided because of her size. Thank god- when she was a kitten she had lost a tooth and a part of her ear because she had accidently walked into the wrong queens territory.
She slunk forth more nervous then ever. What happened if she met another cat and they didn't like her. She lowered herself to the grass and slunk into the park where she thought she would be alone.

Novi pumped his legs as he swung, the swing rising higher and higher. His tail fanned out behind him, though he curled it into his lap, and his large ears pricked forwards as a new scent overcame him. A girl? He slowed and hopped off the swing, padding forwards, spying the black and white cat with a chunk of ear missing. What had happened? Was she a fighter-cat? He'd heard of them...but she still wore her collar... "H-Hello!" he broke out, beaming at her as he drew near. "Why does your ear look like that?"

Her tail curled under her belly like a dog and her fur bristled nervously. She had to push herself to stop slinking and raise herself onto her hindquarters to sit. She didn't even look into his eyes as she spoke back to him.
"I uh, another cat did it to me when I was a kitten."
Her tail flicked nervously. She didn't want the male to see she was missing her front canine incase he was hostile. Her eyes darted back and forth looking for an exit.

Novi blinked at her, feeling her fear and his ears pulled back in worry. Worry that he was annoying her. "S-Sorry... That sounds horrible..." He looked down at his hands, shifting his weight. Then he beamed at her, an innocent smile. "I'm Novik, but you can call me Novi. Everyone else does!" He offered a hand to her, to shake, even though she looked quite nervous. "I was worried with that ear-chomped, you were gonna be a fighter." Fighters terrified him, to be honest. The idea of fighting was violent and something Vik liked, but not Novi.

Her ears pricked up ever so slightly as his tone and choice of words. By all means she was not a fighter. She hated too fight. "Well I'm Keiko. Thats what my last humans called me."
She rocked back and forth on her back-end calming herself enough that her fur had settled down onto her body once more. She then looked down to her paws and then too his hand. Oh yea she had hands too. She picked up one and offered it to him.
"I don't fight. I'm terriffied by them." Her tail flicked about nervously once more.

Novi smiled at her, tail flicking back and forth, looking quite like a fox's without the white tip. "Keiko... I like it. I'll call you Kei..." He shook her hand vigorously, then clapped his hands together twice. The smile never left his face. "My humans called me Kota... But Momma named me Novi. And my humans left so... So that's what I go by!"
He tilted his head, curious. "You're afraid of fights, too? For the most part, my territory is peaceful...but there's a place that tests on cats that Tempo and JiYong fight against! But I won't fight... Momma says I'm too young, anyways."

Her mood was lightened by his enthusiasm. "Kei..I kinda like that." She rolled it off her tounge a few more times. "Yea I like that. and Novi is a nice name as well." She let out a small smile threw her pursed lips. She was still afraid of the other cat even if he was nice.
"I uh never knew my momma. Your lucky. Me and my siblings well we kinda raised each other. But I got lost..." Her eyes looked down to her paws her eyes welled with tears. "I always get lost- and now...and now..."
She huffed again. "I can't find my humans." She shoved her face into her folded arms and began to cry.

Novi giggled at her as she said her name over and over. Keiko... Strange girl! "Thanks," he said with the slightest of blushes warming his pale cheeks. She would warm up. It just might take a bit... He could still feel her nerves reverberating off of her like waves.
His ears pulled back as she spoke of getting lost, and then burst into tears. Novi stepped forwards, uncertain, and placed a hand on her shoulder, patting it gently. "I-It's okay. I could...I could help you find your home if you remember what it looks like?" His ears perked again.

She picked her head up as she wiped away the tears with one of her arms. "You-you'd help me find my family?" She asked timidly. Weren't all other cats supposed to be mean loaners? But then again even from the start of their meeting Novi seamed 'uncatlike'. And she was relieved when he placed a hand on her.
"They live in a big house...with cars...and well- I've only seen the inside of it really."
She moved her index finger over her head and scratched it in thought. "I was chased off by the cat that owned the territory before I got a really good look outside." Keiko's eyes started to well up with tears yet again. But she held them back this time and forced out a painful smile.

He smiled encouragingly (or what he hoped to be so) at her and patted her shoulder again, ears flicking back for a moment. "Sure! Why not? We could find your family, even if it takes us a week..." Although, Momma would come looking for him, surely, if he were gone that long. He didn't tell her this, though, in fear that she'd be jealous of Momma.
"Mmm... Well maybe we should head to the streets and look around? Will you recognize the smells if we get close? Oh, that's not good. What if that cat doesn't really let you back?" His tone was uncertain now -- he didn't need a fight.

Keiko nodded happily at the idea springing up from where she sat. "Oh I could MOST definitely recognize the smells. It is my home after all." She grinned knowing the smell of the younger human males scent most of all. He was her 'people'. But the thought of the cat outside dismayed her. That was the cat her humans had dubbed 'Oliver'. They never did manage to catch the tom like planned. She had only really heard talk of him as they passed in and out of the door.
"I'd just need to get inside the house. So maybe I can sneak in while he's sleeping or off hunting?" She paused. "Then again do you think if I just explained to him that I wasn't after his territory he'd just let me back in my house...where ever that may be..." She still wasn't that hopeful she was going to find it.

Novi smiled. "Good! Then we'll start looking, yeah?" His head tilted to one side, dark hair falling into gold eyes. He giggled at her, offering his hand again, palm up, fingers splayed. And he kept grinning. His tail flicked to and fro as he waited for her okay, and they would be off.
"Huh... Maybe if you talked to him, he'd let you back in with your human? We could try it! Maybe I could talk to him..." He nibbled on his lower lip. "He might listen to me? Since I'm a boy? Maybe he just doesn't like girls?"

Taking his hand she pulled herself up onto her feet. She was still so surprised that he was willing to throw himself out on a limb for her- and with such a dangerous cat and all. "Well I guess we could try it. I mean it couldn't hurt."
She was determined to get back into her house at all costs. Her humans were probally worried sick that she had been gone this long. She looked back at Novi and gripped his hand abit tighter. It was nice to have a friend.

Novi giggled and beamed at her, tugging her into following him as he took off at a quick trot. His feet moved across the grass soundlessly, tail flicking behind him, his hand tightening around hers. They would find out where Kei lived and then? Then she would be home! He grinned at the thought of a happy ending. As they reached the city, he slowed. "Okay! Nose to the ground! Let's start looking!"
