Lush, green boughs swayed in the soft wind as you neared the river, still slightly swollen from the rain the other night, but running smoothly in its bed. There were fish jumping, you could hear, and there was the broad splashing about of another Saighneian, probably playing in a small inlet. When you were close enough to see, flecks of gold pounced around the water's surface, mingles with tinier specks of alabaster, as a Saighneian fae pranced around the water as if hunting, but with a more childlike 'play' to her motions.

"Must you ALWAYS scare the fish, so, Shiina? It makes it difficult to catch them, doesn't i-OOF!" the little bronze lizard barked the last as a fat salmon landed accross his small body and pushed him to the ground, wings flat under him.

"Oh, liven up, Xev! The fish were agitated, anyways!" The gold mound of wet fur giggled, watching him. "Quick! Don't let it get away!" she giggled as the Ilmarinen wrangled the fish, almost as big as he was, anyways, and clearly more used to the awkward floppy motions, as the little dragon worked to fight the fish into a stupor. This would take a minute, but would happen, all the same.

The winged lizard looked up victoriously and tilted his head. "Oh? I DO believe we have a visitor, Shiina. Why don't you try not to scare it as much as you do the fish..." Shiina shot him a glare and shrugged, stepping out of the water and shaking out her fur before settling in the sand to wait for Gemma to come out of hiding.

"We won't hurt you." She announced, oblivious to, and ignoring, Xevrack's rolling eyes as he started in on his own meal.

Shiina smiled, looking over Gemma as she came out. "Hello. How're you today?" She called happily, before her eyes were drawn by a butterfly fluttering around, until it lost her attention on the river. She looked back at Gemma, her smile widening, as it seemed to do endlessly. "Wanna fish?"

Shiina giggled happily, moving in to help with the fish, and chuckled good-naturedly as Gemma tried to catch a fish with her paws. "You can't hold 'em well like that, can you?" She hummed and watched the fish for a moment before pushing her nose under water gently. When she spied the chance, she wrapped her maw around a passing salmon and yanked the flopping piece of scales out of the water, just grinning over at Xev's laughing at the comical sight.

"Shiina, I don't think you could be stranger a feline if you were purple and gree-"

"Xef, wa'sh yer ton'... 'member dah' fey d'otha day?" The lizard stared at her and nodded before bursting into laughter, Shiina clamping down on the fish to stop it's incessant flopping about and climbing out of the water on the opposite bank from the lizard, where Gemma had been spied, trapping the fish under her paws as it finished dying for her to eat it. "I'm Shiina. And that laughingbox of scales is Xevrack... You can call him Xev..." The lizard was currently digging through the half-bared skeleton of the fish to get at the organs and meat under the rib bones with his long jaw and sharp claws.

Shiina smiled and shrugged, running a claw down the fish's back and belly and tearing it in half, smiling over at Gemma. "You want half?" She smiled, parting the fish down the spine and wondering if her new friend would be interested in the entrails or if that was all Xev's.

Speaking of Xev... A sickening slurping sound crossed the calm river from his spot, where he was treating another portion of entrails like spagghetti, head threaded through the ribs as was required, and enough of the flesh missing that she could see it. "Augh! XEV! You know I HATE that!"

"Why do you... Mmmm... Think I do it...?" SCHLUUUUUURP! Shiina shuddered, rather visibly, shaking her head.

"Flyers are so weird sometimes..." She muttered, glancing back down to her fish.

(Sounds like morning sickness. XD)

Shiina was sitting up when Gemma returned, looking after her worriedly while the bronze lizard dug through the hole in the fish to drag out the organs to cart back to his spot where he'd eat them. "Are you alright?" She let her slightly damp paw fall over Gemma's head gently. "You feel a little warm... Wanna take a nap in our den? Oooh! Or... Or... There's a really great sunning rock not far from here! I could get you a rabbit or some berries or something."

"Shiina... Do you have any idea how awkward that sounds?"

"Shut up, Xev... I want her to feel better, 'much as you won't admit you do, too..."

Shiina hummed, then shrugged. "Ah well. Let's go sun, anyways. Xev's eating his fill, anyways, so he can go get you some berries b'fore he joins us. Sunning's a good way to calm your stomach anyways. C'mon."

She smiled and stood, waiting for Gemma to, as well. "Xev's made me loose my appetite, anyways."

Shiina smiled and led Gemma there happily, waving at the bright, sunburnt rock. The surface conducted well, and was warm from setting out all day. She leaned over it's edge and smiled. "And that's our den, down there! We can go nap any time we want. Xev's been trying to grow berry bushes closer to the den lately, so we don't have to go far in the winter, or so we can stockpile berries for it, or something like that. He's real dependable... Unless you want him to get you a fish, of course. They're all bigger than he is." She chuckled, picking a spot on the far edge to stretch out on, murring as her stomach lay accross the rock. "C'mon, feels great."
