Luis walked along side with her daughter who felt the need to drag her feet as they walked along. Every now and again the Satyress paused and gently pushed her hand against her daughter's back to move her along a bit more speedily since the child seemed to still be affected by the sunlight. Every now and again Faris would pause and gaze skyward and just bask in the warmth and almost fall asleep right there where she stood until her mother backtracked a bit and nudged her along.

The redheaded Satyress was growing a bit concerned it was a little hard to run errands with her daughter this way and she couldn't leave her entirely alone yet so...

She needed a solution. Luis gazed about the current street they were on until they fell upon the shop front with sweets and pastries in the window display. Gently she grabbed her daughter's hand and tugged her toward the shop and soon they entered it. Inside and out of the sun Faris seemed to perk up a bit and gaze about with interest.

"Candies and treats? I can has?" Faris asked hopefully.

Luis knew she would regret this sooner or later but she nodded, "Aye we're going to buy ya a few pieces to see if that keeps ya alert for a bit while we run errands..."

The shop was only going to be open an hour more as it was, so it seemed the two were just in time. Behind the counter, a man was piping a swirly border on a 5-tier white cake (for a wedding, perhaps?). Harley sat at one of the two small tables there, coloring quiet badly.

"Hello!" Nathan chimed, giving the newcomers a sleepy gaze, "I'll be with you in just a second." It was rare when they had a walk-in customer what with their early hours. Most orders were filled over the phone and delivered. Regardless, when he finished the tier he was on, the elven man approached the counter and leaned on it.

"How kin' I help you today?"

Luis gently placed her hand on her daughter's head and ruffled the dark but colorful hair and smiled over at the man that had come to greet them, "Aye, perhaps ye can, was wonderin' if'n ya had any chocolate covered caramels available and maybe some lemon flavored candies? Tryin' to find a way to give my daughter some en'rgy," she laughed a bit as she stared down at her daughter's face which seemed rather drowsy already despite it being inside and out of the sun.

"Sleepy-faaaaaaace~," Faris said dreamily as she pointed toward the man's face. It was making her sleepy again just looking at it! She couldn't help it.

"Not nice to point, sweet'eart." Luis chided as she gently moved to push down her daughter's hand with a small chuckle, "I apologize she tends to act and speak before thinkin' a lot o' th' time."

Nathan gave a dismissive wave and a little wink at the woman with the charming accent.

"She's right, isn't she? Barely slept at all last night. Now, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white? Some combination? And for the lemon, would you rather hard or soft?" He stepped back a bit to look over his pre-made fair, wondering if he would have to make something fresh for this pair (not that he minded). Harley hopped down from his chair with a crayon and his coloring book, offering both (although the current page was scribbled all over) to the little girl from a distance. Would she want to color too? Sharing was nice!

She chuckled at the wink and tilted her head, "Dah's a shame, sir," Luis said in sympathetic response to his difficulty sleeping. She looked thoughtful at his questions and gazed down at Faris, "What ye prefer love? Tell th' nice man."

Faris gazed up at her mother and then over at the man for a long moment, "Milk choco-lit aan' hard lemon candies, pleases," she said in her best and most polite tone. She caught movement and her gaze fell upon the rather rabbity looking boy that had come closer and offered her a coloring book. She gazed up at the top of his head and noted...HORNS. Neat! She had horns too! Granted his were ... different and probably were called something different but she cared not, "Wan' me to color wi' ya? Sures! May I colors wi' him Mama?"

Luis blinked down at the boy and then at her daughter before she nodded, "Aye, I suppose so if'n it is a'ight with his Da'."

Not like they were in an absolute rush.

Nathan nodded and began to measure out the smallest helping he offered of the candies; 5 caramels and a rough cupful of hard candies.

"Sure, why not?" he asked, nodding to the woman first, and then at the little girl to sit down, "Just don' leavethe store, Harley."

"Ah won'," came the toddler's reply, and back he headed for the table. He flipped the page to a new one, opening the pictures (a teddy bear on a swingset and a baby with blocks, respectively) so they could color together. He chose the baby and began to scribble furiously with his little 24-pack of crayons.

"They're great, aren't they?" Nathan asked, offering the bag out to the woman. He found himself hard-pressed to not mimic her accent. "Just two-hundred gold today."

Faris followed happily and settled next to the boy with a small sleepy grin before she took up a crayon and began to somewhat messily color in the teddy bear on a swing set. She tucked her wings closer to her back and coiled her tail about the leg of her chair that she managed to claim. She tilted her head side to side, "I y'am Faris," she introduced herself to the boy it seemed odd to not have him know her name.

The Satyress crossed her arms over her midriff for a moment and watched the pair until the man's voice caught her attention, she reached out and took the bag with one hand while another hand went to her coin pouch at her belt and she grabbed a little over two-hundred coins with a small smile, "Th' kidlets? Aye they are. Keep th' change, sir," Luis said happily as she just held onto the bag of candies.

"...Yer lad is right cute, how did ye come across 'im?" She indicated the rabbit eared and antlered boy. Unlike with Faris' friend Evari she couldn't exactly see any genetics in common with the parent.

"Awwey," Harley replied, and then pulled a face. He really wished he could talk better, "Awwlee." There, close enough. He turned back to his coloring book, hoping that more people who came in would have kids to color with. Working with Daddy was boring.

"Toklit?" he asked.

"Thank you!" Nathan chimed, smiling and pushing the coins through the front slot of his register, "and, ah. Well, I saw this shop I'd never seen before, and I found this...stuffed jackelope. Yenno, like half rabbit, half antelope? They're not real, a'course, but whoever stuffed this one did a damn good job. Six hours later, it...well, it died and there he was."

"Sins of the flesh, let me at her, let me at her!"

Nathan suddenly grimaced and shook his head to clear it before his smile came back.

"Sorry 'bout that. Headache."

"It 'kay if I calls you 'Lee?" it was the only part of his name she could truly comprehend plus it seemed like it'd be an okay nickname for him. She called her best friend 'Vari instead of Evari. So it should be okay! It still had a part of his name involved, after all! She took up a new color and began to work on a different part of her picture. Thus far the bear was going to have multi-colored limbs. Faris glanced at the toddler next to her curiously, "Sures~."

"Welcome," she replied and listened to him as he continued on with his story. Luis blinked at the familiarity of the story though it seemed odd to make assumptions. She scratched at the bridge of her nose thoughtfully, "sounds kind o' like m'daughter's origins in a way..."

A brief expression of concern crossed over her face as she gazed at the man as he shook his head, "Y'seem t'be 'avin' all sorta health issues lately?"

"Ya," Harley said, and then at her strange reaction pointed to the bag her mother was holding. No, silly girl, that was your chocolate? Man, he wished he knew how to talk better!

"A lot of Gaian kids come out that way," Nathan laughed, "Maybe they came from the same shop, who knows?" And then, with a bit less enthusiasm:

"Ah, I just get headaches. Headaches and insomnia. Thanks for your concern, though."

She blinked and gazed at the bag and after a couple of moments she seemed to make the connection and she let out a small giggle and ducked her head feeling a bit foolish, oops! She felt badly because it probably wasn't helping the boy who seemed to be having problems talking at all. "Sorries, sorries, Lee~," she murmured apologetically as she colored a bit more. "Yehs, thems mines. Mama is trying to make my sleepies go away I guess. S'good though. I likes food."

Luis laughed lightly and nodded, "Aye, that seems t'be true. I got Faris' statue from Balcombe's Curiosities," she said directly with a small shrug.

"Dah's a right shame. I guess all ye can do is adapt...M'name is Luiseach by th'way. Y'may call me Luis if y'like," seemed awkward conversing with a man whose name she did not know since their children were currently playing together.

Harley giggled a bit, nose wrinkling, and then nodded. Chocolate was good for staying awake, and he knew this because he'd tried to sneak some before bed. Daddy had never been happy about that. Food in and of itself was pretty nice too.

He wouldn't mention that he got as much as he wanted for free.

"Ah, yeah, that's it!" Nathan laughed. So their kids were related in some weird Gaia-only way! That was sort of nifty. It was nice to know it wasn't only him experiencing this.

"Nathan. Anything's fine. We live right upstairs, so if you ever want to bring Faris over to play that's fine by me."

She colored a bit more, glad he didn't take offense she set the crayon down and stared at them curiously before she pointed at the colors, "Which ones is your favorite?" Faris asked content to have him point out the color instead of making him talk unless he really wanted to. She wasn't trying to be demeaning but rather helpful in her own way.

Even if he did mention it ... She would only have been very impressed.

Luis laughed a bit and nodded, "How strange how that shop seems t'pull ye in, aye?"

The Satyress blinked at the offer but nodded, "Thank ye, Nathan. They seem t'be gettin' along right fine at the moment, perhaps we will visit again one day."

Harley's ears folded down and he looked at the pile of crayons, tapping his lip thoughtfully. Hrm...

He picked one up and grinned, ears going erect again.

"G'een!"

Nathan looked briefly to Harley, and then nodded.

"Going in might be my own fault, but young lady rushed me out with the 'lope fer free. An' yeah, Harley'n me don' get out much, so any friends he makes 're cool. Plus friends get the friend's'n family discount." He winked then, hoping he didn't sound too creepy as the Thing prattled on in his head, continually trying to get free. Pfft. As if he hadn't been dealing with this for years.

She looked at the color and nodded with approval, not that he needed it!

"S'good a good color! I like..." She reached forward plucked up a bright orange crayon and a red one, "these ones and lots of others, I can't deciiiiiiides," she admitted with a bit of a wiggle as she went about finishing the picture she was coloring. It was a masterpiece in her mind.

Luis chuckled a bit, "How odd. I came in due to an advertisement on the television, I became very curious because it just wouldn't stop showin' up where ever I looked..." She tilted her head at the discount offer and if she was creeped out it didn't show. The Satyress laughed and nodded, "I'll keep that in mind, Nathan, thank ye for the heads up," she smiled at him.
