Just within the Market Place area, it provides rest to those who wonder the dark caverns of the City. Patrons will walk through well hinged double doors to reveal a large open room that is well lighted and welcoming. Towards the back of tavern is a long counter bar with full length shelves that hold varies container of alcohol. Delicious smells waft from the kitchen that lies behind the counter. Many things occur behind those swing doors.

Irrafay wiped her hand across the surface of her new desk as Valdaer instructed their new 'employees'. They were seated and a few sipped on drinks that Valdaer and Irrafay had handed them. They had all been filed past the double doors into the main office upstairs.

"Alright, that basically covers it."He said peering around at the twenty odd people. "Any...questions?"

Irrafay nearly chuckled at who he seemed to flinch at the words. Despite his clear dislike of them, a few raised their hand for the dared questions.
"So we just listen and report? That is it?"

Valdaer nodded, and the Irrafay said when the silence of confusion began, "Yes, all of this will help us and you. Plus, isn't it interesting hearing whats going on in the City?"

Most nodded, which is what Irrafay expected. But one how clearly had joined to get away from the slavers. He wanted to rebel, he wanted to be in charge.

"Why should we follow you? Sure you got us out of the slavers hand, but--" He didn't get to finish, Valdaer had blurred as he struck him. The rebel fell to the ground, clutching his side gasping.

Some of the 'employees' got to their feet. They had been treated nicely, given free drinks, their chains taken off. This was not suppose to happen from kind masters.

"I don't think you understand. Your lives rest in our hands now. We have let you free, but we can tell when you lie. We can hear you as you plot. And we will not hesitate to get ride of you, for you are a weakness to us, not just Valdaer and me, but to the whole group. You will be the reason why the City Lord marches on us, if you lie and leave none behind. Together, we depend on each other. IF you are not strong. Step forward to die now!" Her eyes blazed. She even floated slightly off the ground.

Silence settled in on the new 'employees'. They all watch as the rebel fought and failed to live. In till he finally stopped struggling. Then two stepped forward, "We'll take this garbage out."

Irrafay turned, to hide her smile. She set her feet as Valdaer put his blade away. "Good then, lets get started. You know your groups, so I won't have to tell you."

Everyone got up and head for the door. Irrafay let out a sigh. "Thats a great way to open up a new tavern." Valdaer said.

Valdaer didn't know how his sister had done it. He could not believe it had happened this way, but the result had occurred. He was taking the late cycle shift. Wearing the costume black shirt and trousers that had silver designs on the hems, which hid the symbol of an curved eye in the stitch work, of the workers. All of it didn't change the fact that he was here and his sister wasn't.

How is the abyss did she convince me to take this post? He thought tapping his hand counter top. He leaned against the counter peering out at the small group that had come in.

A few House members were here to celebrate something. Others were merchants, looking for a good place to do business. While an group of 5 raiders laughed, joked and chatted up such noise that Valdaer was sure that those in abyss could hear them.

A drowess, stepped around the counter getting another drink for the raider table. As she worked she muttered, "It appears that the raidin' season will be slow this 'ear. Mani' ain't getting along well enough to gather the mone' to go up. They sa' that most will House paid."

Valdaer clenched his teeth, that meant to things would happen. One there would be more people in a city already pressed for space. Two the slave trade was going to have be filled with more free-thinker, then the stupid ones from the surface. And that the thieving territories would be more enforced. This will mean more thieves will take to the Houses cause there will be more thieves on the street.

She walked off as Valdaer wrote down a note of the new information. The Lord of the City might not care for it, but it was important to Irrafay. He tapped his fingers and went back to observing.

Laughter, Irrafay turned back to see the Cook and the other 'employees' chatting and talking as they worked.
She handed off her tray to the waiting waitress and then turned back.

"What might I ask is so funny?" She looked around a smile on her face.

The Cooks rich surface accent tripped over into her undercommon,"Oh, Jalil Irrafay, I have gone into market to get extra spice for rothe. While out there, I saw some of the people from the Qu'ellar Deghym. They were all hunched over and pretending to be sneaking around. They were ridiculous."

One male was washing dishes in a large basin, looked up and said, "But that not the funny part. They were clearly trainees and tried to...get information from us. On the Hlairyn Clan," He pointed between himself and the Cook.

Even Irrafay had to laugh at that and everyone joined her. She rolled her eyes, "Some clearly haven't gotten use to the darkness down here. Didn't they see you guys uniform?"

They shook their heads, as the Cook added, "Its interesting though its clear they've been trying to expand their network. They might even be picking up orphans off the streets."

Irrafay adjusted her hair tail, "Well, that is news worth hearing. Oh next time you go out try and find the market gossips and some talkative merchants."

They all nodded and then went back to their chores and chatting. Will Irrafay turned out into the bar space. Business is slow, I wish some people would come in.

Irrafay got ready for her job. Up in her attic room, she pulled her hair back, braid and then dipped it into the poor drow's dye. She kept her bangs out dyed them out and used them to cover her eyes. Finally she slipped the silver and black uniform on, regretting again her decision to reveal her stomach.

Her brother words came back to remind her that a male is much more willing to talk to a pretty face and body then an intimidating one. She sighed and headed down stairs.

Once on the main floor, she checked in the cooking staff. And then went out to see some of the waiters talking among themselves.

"You have to see that new thing from the Hlairyn House. That device is pretty cool."

"Yeah, but that is because you weren't waiting on them. That thing wrapped around my arm. I thought it was hair!"

"What are you all talking about?" Irrafay came over to them and looked at all their faces.

One shrugged, "I wasn't here for it, but supposedly-"

"There is no 'suppose' about it. Those Hlairyn came in as usually right, but one had this really long hair piece. I thought it was a tail, but when I stepped close to get their order-"

"The tail moved! It wrapped around her arm and everything. She screamed and the house member told her 'Calm down will you. Its just a little invention from my house.' "

"Yeah well...bottom line is. I don't think I want to see what else they come up with. That really scared me and worst it seems to obey the wearer. He must have planned it."

The other either nodded or shrugged. And Irrafay just shook her head in awe before she noted that a group of sailors were coming in with the street whores. "Back to your stations people and ears open."

They all nodded and walk off. While Irrafay settled herself behind the counter again.

Llmryn was not much for this kinds of places, but he didn't really care about the atmosphere, the fact remained he was still hunting down the changes in the city. This place was one such change. He was filled the street trash and whores, not that it was uncommon for him to see such things, but he didn't commonly see them so much in one place. His merely being there put him out of place, his fine silks and precious metals he decorated himself with made him stand something terrible. The eyes of many likely thieves turned onto him. He paid them little mind, other than a sigh of disgust of them.

With some what of a stuck up growl he made his way to the bar front. He didn't bother taking a seat from himself, rather he looked at the one that was currently at the bar. He made his presence known by throwing a few coins up on the table top and spoke in his usual feminine voice, but did bother to speak loudly in talk over the sound of the crowd. "You there, Barkeep. I demand a meeting with the proprietor of this...business. I would much refer to be quick about it."

Irrafay sucked her teeth and then looked up at the drow's face. Wow, I'm popular with the weird ones today? She thought and then poured a drink placing it onto the waiting tray.

Then she turned to face the newcomer head on. "You'd be talkin' to her."

With all these fine clothes, and proper speech. He'll play the repulsed noble, so well. I'll try and see just how much he really wants this. She nearly let the smirk come onto her face, but she held it off. Keeping it stern and street-ish.

FINALLY, he thought to himself, a woman is in charge. With all the men running things, it was like the world had turned upside down. A half smile wormed it's way along his lips as he nodded in respect to her. "Well then, please allow me to introduce myself. I am the Head of the fourth house, Llmryn Val'Rilyniryn. You see, I had taken a long absence from this city, and wish to see how the city I called home has evolved while I was away. Your...lovely establishment seems to be one of such additions to the city. I was wondering if you had time for a bit of a more...private chat."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out six platinum pieces and laid them out for her on the bar top. He was not that he was trying to bribe her to speak to him, even if that is how business is done in slum like places such as taverns. He was not willing to be that insulting to a female, but rather he was playing for the time he would take from her. Time is money, and he was not about be turned away because of something so simple.

Irrafay gave him a bland look before taking the coins of the table. He clearly thought so little of her tavern, when she had just finish cleaning the floor. Well, nobles of a certain power will think air is beneath them if they can.

She turned to the second girl at the bar and tilted her head towards the "lord", when the other nodded. Irrafay, turned back Lord Val'Rilyniryn. "If you wish to speak. You'll have to follow,"She indicated the small flapping doorway that one waiter was holding open.

With that done she turned and walking through the kitchen into the private area, then up the stairs heading towards the wooden double doors in the back. Passing through to the room, she headed for the desk and then sat behind it. "Well, Ilharn Val'Rilyniryn. What information might you be interested in? And of course what can you give me in return?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 10:20 pm

He did indeed follow, and once at the destination for their little chat, be took his seat and sighed softly. "Well you see now, information is kind of my specialty, both new and ancient. What I'm looking for are 'test subjects'. I would very much like it if you would now take offense if I say something that bothers you. And, in the event my request does offend you, I will quietly take my leave, without question. What I do know of you is little, but I do know you deal with many of our kind that are seen as scum and vermin. Those whose lives mean nothing. I need...expendable lives for my research. If you have little to no loyalty to those I have described...then I would like to make a 'purchase'. But, even more so that trash like them...I need drow how have dedicated their lives to a deity and have served them faithfully. I don't know if you could handle that...but it would be a loss on my part if I didn't bring the question forward. If can handle a job like that...I will give you something of far more value than even the finest and purest of precious metals and jewels. I will give you pure, raw, power. Please, take your time in answering."

He sat silently, to most, his request would be a lot to take in. But, even if that was not the case, it was not a question anyone could answer quickly. These were lives that would, without question, be sent to the slaughter. It's one thing to kill someone yourself with a simple blade, but the way he says 'research' sounded much more like 'torture'.

An eyebrow raised as the noble stated his desires. Awfully nice for a guy who says that only the scum of society enter my tavern. She thought leaning back now that he was done.
Her eyes glittered, as she leaned forward. "I can find the trash, as you so nice put it, but I what do I get? To get my hands on a faithful deity's servant is tough. And would probably bring their wrath on me and mine. So why, so I risk it for that part? And this seems rather an empty, space filling deal. Tell me what I'll get and see if I'll hand over my trash."
She loosened her tail to let it out and then smooth her bangs back.
