User Image Orion ventured to a clearing, he had never been here before -but considering he hadn't really been anywhere bar where he lived that was not suprising. He had learnt a few days ago that the sun took naps behind the mountains which created night but the part before with all the colours was a sunset. His friend Fleurite really seemed to like them. Which brought him to wondering... what would he like?

He yawned a little, it was late afternoon and after sleeping for most of the day inside his little basket it was hard work to be up for so long. Yet he was determined, there was way too much to explore and discover to allow himself to simply sleep his life away. And just as that thought crossed his mind he saw something. "Bird..." he spoke. Titling his head to watch it as he flew from tree to tree, the colours were wonderful and the sound of wind and fluttering feathers intreguied him. He liked birds. "Chirp chirp" he mused in an attempt to communicate but as always the creature simply ignored him and went about his buisness. Typical. It seems only a few things would talk to him. Leaves where silent as they flickered and hit you as you passed, the clouds just loomed above never making a noise, and the grass simply whistled with the wind. They all made noises but not in his language.

Yawning again he pulled himself away from the bird and the tree so that he was firmly at the egde of the clearing, before him was a wide open field with sweet humming grass blowing and tickling his ankles. He let out a playful giggle before speaking again, "Don't do that grass!" He giggled again, "...that tickles!" But as always it simply ignored him and went about tickling him. He wiggled his nose making the star like freckles dance upon his cheeks, his mother told him to ask for things but that didn't seem to help considering most things simply ignored him.

Exhaling heavily he lowered his head to the ground, his rump automatically lifting to wiggle in the air as his eyes scan the clearing just above grass level. "I wonder what it would be like be as small as a grasshopper?" He mused before skipping forward humming a random tune that his mother usually sang. He looked up and saw the clouds as they danced carelessly above, he skipped and span in an effort to follow them but as always they where too fast for him. "Come back..." he called, yet once again they simply ignored him. Plopping himself onto the ground with a soft thud he pouted, "why does everything just ignore me? Its no fun." Perhaps he should just go home afterall?

User ImageHaving two other siblings sometimes tilts things in her favor. For example, little Ashynna’s two other sister had just started bickering about whose wings were prettier or something of that nature making mother quite irate and ending when both of them getting a sharp n** from the mare. Meanwhile, the wingless of the trio of fillies had taken the chance to sneak away from the ever watchful eye of their mother and escape not too far off but enough to be out of the family’s nagging. The pale filly peeked out into the clearing, watching some other life go about their day’s business, oblivious to her existent—not that she minded at all. She was happy going her own way.

Suddenly, a pair of fluttering wings passed by her very eyes, instantly capturing her interest. She was entranced by the creature’s vibrant colors and followed the slow drifting insect along its path through the air. Her head dipped and rose with the erratic flight of the creature and smile in spite of herself. If only she too had wings. She wondered how it would be to fly through the open air, taste the smooth wind caress her face and body. Most of all she wondered how those white fluffy things tastes, the ones in the sky. Father had informed her that they were not editable nor very solid. However, she was not convinced—they looked solid from where she stood.

Just then a sound of another voice interrupted her thoughts. She paused her sky-gazing for a moment to look around absent-mindedly. Perhaps she was imagining it? Then there it was again! She spun around to notice a dark foal not too far away flopped inelegantly on the ground and looking quite discourage. She tilted her head in question. But then a wicked thought crossed her mind. Stepping forwards, she made her way towards him as silently her little clumsy hooves could carry her. However, in her excitement she could not help and stumble a few times, shift and long grass awkwardly, and more or less make quite a racket. Giving up the whole sneaking up on him thing, she pranced the last few steps quickly and with a great, loud, overly cheerful voice, she more or less yelled out to him (despite the face he was barely a few feet from her), "Hello there, friend!"

As he sat there on the ground he allowed his eyes to look to the sky. "Clouds...." he mumbled and then to his suprise he heard a greeting. Excited he stood up and chirped "...hello friends!" He let out a giggle, he was so consumed with the idea that the clouds had spoke to him that he never heard the noises the young filly had made on her way over.

Tail wagging, head still up he stepped forward and then before he got very far he noticed that he hit something and couldn't go any futher. Lowering he head to look at what had hit him he paused in horror. Oh now would they call him a freak? He didn't like to be called a freak for his little wings. Instinctively he pulled his little wings as tight into his sides as possible in an effort to make them ignored. It was part of the reason why he was always looking for something else to talk to him. At least his sister and mother where nice to him. "Who are you?" He asked as he titled his head. Deciding to trust her and give her the benefit of the doubt he added. "My name is Orion." He shook a little on his four hooves.

Ashynna’s slung lazily back in forth as she waiting for the dark one to reply. However, his response confused her greatly as he did not even look at her when he was talking! She followed his gaze up towards the sky, in attempts to find what entranced him. Suddenly, something collided with her in the middle of her sky-gawking and she gave a jump in surprise. She was just about to scold him for his carelessness, even though her own mother often tells her to look where she was going; however, he suddenly looks quite horrified? She pulled herself back a few steps, removing herself from his personal space to observe him properly. But, as all foals, Ashynna was quick to snap out of any negative moods and felt her expression turn bright and cheery. "Oh me? The name’s Ashynna! It’s good to mean you Orion! I’ve never met another foal except my sisters but they don’t count because they’re crazy if you know what I mean," she ranted on quite happily.

She seemed quite obvious to any discomfort he was experiencing in her presence. Ashynna was much too happy to be able to speak and play with another foal more or less her age. She long tail swung carelessly around behind her. "Soooo……" she sang out as she lowered and cocked her head slightly in a playful manner. "Who were you talking to? I didn’t interrupt anything, did I?"

Orion smiled softly as he took in her details, she was a lovely pink and white colour bar her nose and eyes that where highlighted in black. Another girl. "You have sisters too?" Lior was protective of Orion, she said that he was distracted too easily and it got him into trouble. That and he was fed up of being called a freak that he tended to avoid others outside of his little family. "I don't know any other males, I don't know my Daddy.... I live with my sister and Mummy." Although he didn't say it out loud he hated his father for two reasons, one for leaving his mother alone with them and two for passing on faulty genes that meant that him and Lior had such silly little wings that you couldn't even fly.

As she spoke about who or what he had been talking to he blushed, would she laugh at him? Deciding to see he spoke, his voice trembling a little, "The clouds.... but they never seem to say much back." He sighed softly. He wanted someone to talk to and be nice to him, he wasn't a freak, he wasn't.

"Yup! Two sisters and they are so annoying," she muttered exasperated. But easily, her mood brightened she watched him quietly while he talked. He seemed to get slightly more stress while he went on and Ashynna made a thoughtful expression before turned back to him and grinning at his final comment. "My mommy says things without mouths don't talk back. I don't think clouds have mouths," she muttered while looking up at the puffy whiteness in the sky. Nope, no mouths.

"But you talk back!" she returned with a happy tone, "and I talk back and this is fun!" She trotted closer to his side to get a better look at him. He was such interesting dark color. She bet he would be really good at hide and seek at night! Her and her sisters were terrible for the most part with their light colors. Slowly she tilt her head. "What are those?" she motioned towards his back.

"But..." he started before a bright blush covered his cheeks, "...most things with mouths usually laugh at me and call me a freak. I don't like it." He said with a shake of his head.

Then he looked at the small pink creature before him and smiled, "This is fun though.... just don't..... laugh at me!" He said as an almost desperate plea, perhaps begging wasn't ideal from a stallion but all Orion knew was he disliked being picked on.

As she pointed out the stumpy bumps that where his wings he shifted uneasily, "Em.... my wings?" He turned his head to look at them, "...kind of pathetic aren't they. My mummy said it's because my daddy was strange... and there must have been something wrong with his genes.... whatever they are. Me and Lior think he must have had bad wings or something like that...."
